After what I just went through w/ my mother's degradation in health and subsequent death, I empathize with you my friend.

baba, is that purple stuff red Cale or beet leaves. I get assorted nuts, a smoothie and toast for breakfast today. Veggies will come for dinner. Today will pull what is left of the beans, clean up around the squash and finally am getting overrun with tomatoes. Time for tomato juice, soup and slice and eat as many as I can stand. Sorry for the graphic image but I shit like a pigeon...anybody that lives on veggies knows exactly what I mean.
red kale, the green kale is a bit sweeter, the other kale is the dino kale. I like to blend kales or mix it up, collard greens too. Don't get me wrong, eggs benedict is my weakness but I save it for special occasions!

Right on Baba! That looks like my Mean Green Juice I make for lunch every day!! Well, except I use Granny Smith Apples....

Juicin' is the way to go!
Nice! I do granny smiths but use pink lady the most as they juice the best amount and flavor, imo
I do local apples too! Mean Green is where it's at, just makes you feel good and fresh!!
I love my orange machine too, oranges, carrots, golden beets, ginger, and maybe some peaches or mango as well, mmm

I'm not talking about my grandfather and how that went, bothers me too much still to this day and probably always will. Those of you who got acknowledgement from your loved ones, in one form or another--be GLAD for that, be very glad, lament not. Death is not the time to find out that you weren't as important to them as you thought you were.

Eggs Benedict fucking ROOLZ, but that hollandaise had better be done right, or it's just no good. Dave once made an EB for me with lobster. Oh. My. Fucking. God. Coulda died right then a happy woman.

Myth Busted: Eating Eggs Has Virtually No Effect on Cholesterol Levels

(NaturalNews) Eating eggs does not significantly raise the body's cholesterol levels, according to a new study conducted by researchers from the University of Surrey and published in the Nutrition Bulletin of the British Heart Foundation.

The researchers reviewed the results of several different studies on eggs and nutrition, concluding that eggs did not contribute significantly to the body's cholesterol levels. Although eggs are in fact a high-cholesterol food, the researchers note that only one-third of the body's cholesterol comes from dietary sources; the rest is produced by the body from saturated fats. As a consequence, saturated fat intake plays a far more significant role.

"The ingrained misconception linking egg consumption to high blood cholesterol and heart disease must be corrected," researcher Bruce Griffin said. "The amount of saturated fat in our diet exerts an effect on blood cholesterol that is several times greater than the relatively small amounts of dietary cholesterol."

The researchers note that other factors, such as obesity, a sedentary lifestyle or smoking also have greater effects on cholesterol levels or the risk of cardiovascular disease than egg consumption does.

"The UK public does not need to be limiting the number of eggs they eat," Griffin said. "Indeed, they can be encouraged to include them in a healthy diet, as they are one of nature's most nutritionally dense foods."

Up until 2007, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) recommended that people limit their intake of eggs to three per week, as a way of reducing the risk of heart disease. That advice is now considered outdated, however.

"We recommend that eggs can be eaten as part of a balanced diet," said Victoria Taylor of the BHF. "There is cholesterol present in eggs, but this does not usually make a great contribution to your level of blood cholesterol. If you need to reduce your cholesterol level, it is more important that you cut down on the amount of saturated fat in your diet from foods like fatty meat, full fat dairy products, and cakes, biscuits and pastries."

I like that they also include the highly processed carbohydrates in that article, too many people don't pay attention or know their role in high cholesterol. I am having WAY more than 3 eggs/week, I've gotta do something with 'em!

Btw, at least one of my birds is *still* laying soft-shelled eggs, despite being fed layer feed and having free access to oyster shell flour. How long can I expect this to continue?

Oh the mystery Can't say for sure but she will start producing good shells soon...Kinda like rubber balloon instead of shell, still can be eaten....

Really eggs are the perfect food, raw directly warm from hen is best but not always..soft boiled....yea...

No, whoever she is, she's laying it in deep chicken dukey (they've begun roosting on the shelf above the nest boxes, I think you saw Dave's pic), and the egg is being crushed.

I see. may have to move nests so they don't crapola in them...

love fresh eggs for egg salad! nothing tastes better then eggs from my girls. I never thought it was a big deal vs store bought, until we started getting fresh daily....yum!
