3k flip flop, chiller cooled

So i have been reading up on chiller units and have a couple of questions. I own a 1/2hp chiller and wanted to chill the air before my lights. I am still unclear on how all this works. I always thought that the chiller coils go right before the light air intake? Can you please simplify this for me. I would like to take care of this project this week.

DO NOT DO THIS. At best it's a waste of money and if your ice box heat exchanger ever sweats water droplets, these could hit the glass envelope of the bulb and cause it to SHATTER! So, NEVER place an icebox upstream of a bulb. Besides, that air need not be cold, so it's still pointless.

1/2 hp is up to the job of keeping your RDWC chilled, but not much else. If you want to get fancy with plumbing, you could do two room RDWCs on a flip schedule.

better off cooling the room efficiency wise I would think? air going thru the hoods should be enough unless we are talking more than 100 deg. outside temps. in that case I would try to find a different place for inlet rather than use AC to cool it. imo.

Even at 120F, if the air leaving the lights is hotter than that going in, it's a net gain. Maximizing that net gain while using hot outside air involves a lot of insulation and careful duct planning to reduce restrictions as much as possible.

platinum bubba begins week 2.

end of week two, blue dream in front then the rest is platinum bubba. just the begining of the excitement tho lol.

no mites, no deficiencies looks real good can't wait to see how much I pull. Never done bubba this big for a full light, but I did get 3 oz off one before with mite damage. nnow there's 9 planted and one blue dream, hoping for 1.5

light number 2 is going to be blue dream x 6 in 5 gal, I usually average 4-5 when they are this size. gonna post them when I start it up in the next week! Yeee flip will he going with one light on each side

starting week 3 blue dream. only 6 plants in 5 gals this time. I know the blue dream is gonna stretch a lot and fill out the space. in the past I have pulled about 4-5 oz from each but these are much bigger we shall see how they do this time.

this light is running in the day time, got a flip box running things now but I may add another timer and set of ballasts
when I get more lights in, we'll see.

got lots of new strains in, sfv og, super lemon haze. all clones. then got some seeds of gigabud (1) and white fire og 11, and cum laude !

Okay, so back to the chiller thing for a moment- are you still using one? How much is it cooling?

hey tty. yes I'm using a chiller, still the same 9k btu ecoplus. its cooling one light in the day and one at night. temps have come down here so I havent needed the chillking yet. also I have the light turned down to 600w. Not sure if I should turn it up to 1k, its getting pretty dense in there..

been a while since I posted. got mites and some factors making my crop shit lol well only the og was affected. smallest yeilds I've had for along time under a oz like 3/4 a plant.

what I learned:

you really need a shit load of branches, even on a small 1-2' plant. i
I'm now aiming for bigger plants with over 10 main branches.

Azamax only keeps mites from reproducing, I'm going to add 217 sns to my routine spray after using captain jack spinosad on all vegging plants. Previously I would try to remove all eggs then spray azamax. works good but better to use several different modes of killing them.

I saw earlier in your thread that you got cuts from Cloneville. Since he moved shop from Ventura Blvd everything went downhill with that guy. The last cuts I got from him all had mites, not to mention I could never get them to beef up any. The fan leaves stayed really small, which just tells me his mom's are in a bad way. Hope you had good success getting rid of your mites. I hate those fuckers.

yeah I got suckered in to getting genetics from cloneville lol. I expect a crap shoot when I go to most shops for clones. I got headband, sfv og, slh, gsc, and cherry pie from him. haven't flowered anything yet although I'm gonna start lights 3 and 4 over the next month and throw them under and see what I got. my clones explode after that first week of being planted his are taking a while but they are pulling thru. mites are gone now just doing preventative measures spray now

I had gotten an Alien and trainwreck cut from him that was incredible. Sadly I gave cuts to my friend to hold on to them while I was in a transition mode and he killed them. Now I just run from seed and pheno hunt. I have heard good things about OCTHC though and may pick up some Green Crack from them.

last cuts I got from him were decent, but I believe your right about his mother's. this slh been about the same size as when I got it but the sfv all blew up. going to start flowering a couple of their things at the beginning of this next week see what he has given me lol starting the gsc mom I have and one cherry pie I got from cville

I got some og rascal to run my self white fire alien pack and some freebies.

things are progressing fine in the garden. the bubba is filling out super nice easily best weight I've pulled just looking at them, the blue dream is filling out too. both smelling strong gonna be anticipating smoking on this!

I would be happy with 2-3 oz per plant and I got 10 in there. I'm thinking its gonna land in the middle some where..

I eneded up turning the lights up to 1000. I may have sacrificed some weight but they look really good and my bill was super cheap for the first half of the month. its day 43ish about 3 weeks left so they have a lot of filling out to do still.

also added a second light full of my special purple widow on the side that runs at night. the fan for cooling don't even turn on right now with the cooler temperatures. 3 lights up half way there...

anybody use those natural co2 things before? I threw one in my blue dream side to see what happpens. I have used the sheets that u spray but this one makes co2 till march of next year! 30 bucks so I'm checking it out.

day 50 platinum bubba. my best round yet, think I can make her stack more tho. remembering I turned the light down to 600 for the first 5 weeks they look pretty good . started stripping the fan leafs last night seems to help the bottom ripen and overall swell better if I take most of them off. these pics r before trimming leaf.
