pre 08-09 tons of people grew in rentals with little impact. Once Obama got into office the town was flooded with wannabes and they had no ties to the community, didn't contribute only took. Trashed houses. When you grew here in the past you ran into your landlord at the co-op, grocery or bar, it was pretty hard to escape the cops or an asswhipping when you didn't "do right", not anymore. Folks are turn and burn now and that has ruined it for anyone, even someone who wants a tent for head stash. Sad, a town that once was so accommodating now is fully antagonistic to growers.

They wanted rec here in town lost by 24 votes.
I reckon Rec would be a little different with all the regs.
Don't know if it would have been good or bad. I kind of like the way things are now, low key it's everywhere but no one seems to mind....

Yup, Ned also had a nudist colony/commune up there in the late 60's and early 70's. The family lived in Boulder back then and we would always go camping in the Braniard Lake area above Ward. Always loved that part of the state. Ned has always been home to hippies/freaks. Now the Green Rush has changed it forever, not a quiet little hideaway anymore.

Bottom line is I am a good and fair landlord....I will treat you as y0u treat me. AND THEIR IS NO FUCKING WAY I WOULD EVER RENT TO YOU MR SMURPH!!!

2. I am one of those mysterious tenants whose landlords all have known i'm growing, who I worked with every step of the way, all electrical upgrades inspected and approved, property taken care of, and guess what? Unlike most growers, I don't pay extra for the privilege of growing, I actually pay less than my neighbors, because... OH YEAH BECAUSE I'M UNLIKE THE SCUM WHO TRASH RENTALS.

3. Growers who assume growers are going to trash rentals are growers who have trashed rentals, recently or in their youth. I have never trashed a grow rental, so I don't share this ASSUMPTION.

4. When you assume you make an ASS of U. Didn't include ME since I'm not the one making assumtions.

Those are unicorns and they are a myth.

My pop spent a lot of time in boulder/ned in the 70's and 80's; when I moved here he was so pumped to come visit to take me to the rowdy Pioneer Inn where many a wild night were had back in the day apparently...now I will never stop teasing him that they have a kids menu nowadays.

edit: i may even have posted that story in this thread earlier...still cracks me up so hard. the look on his face when we walked in was priceless.

Ward is still weird and HARD. Not as hard as it was when I moved here in the late 90's though . The old bare fisted "scrapper" fights in the summer were incredible.

Ward was awesome, went there last summer:) It uhhh, well it now is how nederland was described as being back then if you will.

edit: It was firmly in the running when I was looking to buy a place, but just a little bit too far away for daily commutes.
