The roots looked healthy, the Soil under the plant felt and smelled perfect, the crown was buried a bit but no signs of rot. The problem seemed to be stemming from the original root ball and soil from the initial potting. It was unusually damp, the orig. soil would not clean out of the root ball, maybe from being so root bound before transplanting. I would definitely advise waiting on germinating seeds two or three weeks next year, maybe April 1 st.
Well, wife is home for the weekend. Hope you all have a great one.

Sorry to hear your about your plant.. It happens to the best of us as you know :).. Hope you enjoy your weekend with MrsBudBogart

Take Care

Sorry to see the rot issues, A sad but great leaning experience. I sure hope that is the only plant with this issue! It's very nice to see MrsBudBogart active. Welcome to the farmer!:) My wife @Cora just recently reactivated herself. She is wanting to share what we are learning from using medical grade essential oils. I also wanted to say that I think the new lock on the gate is the best next step for now. I hope you two have a wonderful day!

Just a couple of early morning catch ups. I forgot to mention, night before last we were kept up half the night listening to a mountain lion screaming. Sounded way too close. The bears don't bother me...they will choose to run away if possible. The mountain lions are hardly ever seen, but I know they are always here.
The other thing I wanted to say was a big thank you to all you guys who were such gentlemen in welcoming my wife. To find a group of people like you on the Internet..., priceless. May the heavens shine on you all.

This morning we watered a few plants that were wanting. Then, for the first time, I went through and snipped the tops off of the stems looking to increase the bud sights. Up until now I have been pulling them thru the cages to keep them the same height. I didn't snip all the plants. Some like one blue dream and the 707 headband have tons of sites and I am thinning the inner facing bud shoots off, avoiding larf buds.

From the top of the utv, my best at an overhead. For better pics, contact the sheriff.

I did wind up calling my neighbor. I thought at least one of us could attempt communicating like rational adults.
His wife answered the phone. I explained about our gate being tampered with and asked if she or hubby had seen anything suspicious. She is a very nice lady. She told me no.
I mentioned how someone is watching me, both times I leave for one day and someone tampers with the gate. I asked if her husband was upset at me for anything. She said no, we were fine.
There is no doubt in my mind he is doing it, but hasn't let his wife know about it.
Now I know she will mention it to him and he will have to lie or tell her the truth. I hope she puts him on time out.

Get a trail cam and hang it high with a ladder.not to expensive under 100$
Oooooorrrrrrrr can go to
Firequest.com and the sell a little 12 Guage booby trap.It comes with a blank so no one gets hurt but it will definitely scare whoever opens your gate.
You can place it like 50 yards from your gate so if they come at night it seems like a warning shot.
The dude who showed me about those has one set up with 00buck and it's aimed about chest high at his front and back door . don't do that though lol

That's just a great idea. Thank you for suggesting the both.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I have a few set up myself. What's nice is you can cover a good size area.
The wire set to the booby trap can be stretched as far as you want.itd badass I use 00buck,the lead balls removed and filled with rock salt.
I know people who have funnel points they set up on purpose on they're property. If any ripper enters they are met by very nasty little trebble hooks hung at eye level.
A little harsh for my taste but I can understand wanting to protect your lively hood :)

I told a friend about 22 rounds being hard to get. The next day he brought me a box of 555 . He had bought them when they were on sale for 19.99 . lucky me he had bought 10 boxes. Hell I am lucky to find a small box of 50. I never see 555 boxes anymore at any price.

Nice garden

Unfortunately with guns and the way of the human race. I think if you have a gun and present it on someone you should have real ammo even firing warning shots. You need to be prepared for any scenario in those situations. The sad thing I see these days even with the police. Everyone shoots to kill and not just wound!

It would haunt me forever, but I am well prepared. Even the sheriff deputies that have been here (a whole nother chapter, lol) endorse us being self reliant.
