Whew! Showed up for the show just in time. I expect those MT's to be just massive, excited to see this grow, as usual. My camera just broke on me, so I'm gonna be down and out with the pics for a little bit. Glad I have this to keep me entertained for the mean time.

Show us a group shot of them. Know how many females so far?

Ahhhh, @hiiipower making an appearance. What's going on? Hows everything going?

I think there's five females for sure and one Mountain Temple that I have a feeling is gonna turn out male. But maybe not. Hopefully not. And I'm pretty positive that both Gojis are females. I'll take a group shot in a few days, after they start doing something. I think they're still getting over the transplant, doesn't look like they've grown a whole bunch or anything. Of course, it's difficult to tell in those seven gallons, those fuckers are much bigger than what I'm used to. Much heavier, too, especially after I water haha.

Anyway, good to "see" you around, man.

Alright @hiiipower Here's a group shot.

The lime green Mountain Temple pheno is in the front row in the left-hand corner. I'm so interested in that one. It's probably not the easiest to tell just how different it looks from the others in that pic, but believe me when I say that it looks waaaayyyyy different than the other plants. Very intriguing.... The plant in the back row, right hand corner is the small Goji. The plant in the right hand corner in the front row is the other Goji, just for comparison's sake. Very, very different from each other, in case that isn't obvious from the pic.

Here's a close-up of the lime green Mountain Temple:

IMG 2737

I took clones of all the plants last night. Whether or not I can get them to root is another story. I fucking suck at cloning haha. Seriously, though, I really do fucking suck at cloning. Plus, side: got a light for my veg tent yesterday, so I can hopefully get a little perpetual running here soon. If I can't get any of those clones to root, I'm gonna start a new seed run in the veg tent, just so I have some plants ready to go as soon as these finish. I'm thinking The Fuzz and maybe Dream Beaver. But I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself just yet. Even though I'm getting ahead of myself haha...

Gonna give the plants about ten days, maybe two weeks, to recover from me taking clones, then it's on. Flower time.... Yesssssssss.....

Awesome bud! Thanks. Yeah I see the differences you're talking about. Should be fun to see what happens.

Do you use clone gel? Me and all my buddies have gotten away from using any rooting gel at all, and we've been having as good of success as ever. We all keep our clone trays way far away from the light in the corner of the room. Seems to be the best routine I've found so far... Anyways, good luck to ya this round, bring on the dank Minitiger!

Nah, no clone gel. I soak Rootriot pucks in a solution of aloe, fulvic and K silicate and mist the clones with the same solution. I also definitely keep the clone tray in the corner of my flower tent, far away from my light and kind of shaded by whatever plants are in front of it, although I'll probably move the tray into the veg tent and just use a little CFL over the tray about four feet above said tray in the next couple days. I just need to clean that tent out first, its got a bunch of dried leaves and shit from the last time I dried my SSDD/Lotus Larry/Tree of Life harvest (I'm using my "bad-ass drying setup tent" ((your words @hiiipower hahaha))) for my new veg/mother plant tent now. We'll see what happens. If they don't start showing roots in two weeks max, I'm just gonna pop some other seeds in my veg tent (sooooo glad I have a separate tent for veg now) and bush them out, take some clones and have them ready to go into flower as soon as this current grow is finished. Having said that, I really hope that the clones from that lime green Mountain Temple roots, if nothing else. I dunno why exactly, but I want to keep that one around. It's just so different-looking from the other plants. And really any plant I've ever grown. Very unusual-looking and unique, it's just so bright green. And really nice, thin Sativa-esque leaves. I'll try and take better pics with the appropriate lighting to make it clear how weirdly bright green it is; I don't think those pics do it justice. Having said that, all of the Mountain Temples, with the exception of one of them, have nice-looking thin leaves. Makes me think Sativa Sativa Sativa all the way. The lone MT that doesn't look extremely Sativa is the exact opposite: huuuuuuuge fat-ass fan leaves, bigger than my hands, actually. I'm assuming that one is the Appalachian-leaning pheno.

I think the Temple that Bodhi used brings a lot of good things to the table. And I only say that because those Tree of Lifes I grew last round are just so, so, soooooo fucking good. I can't emphasize enough how much I love Tree of Life. I've been blazing that one pretty much since I harvested that last run and it just gets better and better the longer it cures. Honestly, it's one of my all-time favorite strains. So delicious and stinky (Sharpie pen, lemon lime mango, anise, earth, spicy spicy spicy, fucking delicious) and such a friendly, happy, pleasant high, in addition to being the stickiest weed I've ever handled (and I've handled a shitload of sticky-ass herb haha). I really hope that my Mountain Temples smoke similarly and, thus far, they're at least looking like they lean very "Temple" (with the exception of the one aforementioned fat-leaved MT).

I have a good feeling about this grow. But the clones? Not so much. We'll see, I guess. If they don't root, I'm thinking I'm gonna use my veg tent to start a little The Fuzz and Dream Beaver grow, bush those out and take a bunch of clones from those. Also, if the clones I took last night don't root, I'm gonna ditch that Root Riot method and build myself one of those DIY aeroponic or whatever mister cloner things. I've heard nothing but good things using that method.

Anywaaaaayyyyy..... Happy Sunday!

Alright, 12/12 starts tonight. Here's some pics (the Gojis are in the front row, center plant and right-hand corner plant; the differences between the two are pretty obvious, even from these shitty pictures):

IMG 2738

IMG 2739

Look how different the two Gojis are. I mean, I know these are F1's and all, but still....

Anyway, here's a close-up of the Goji #3, the big one in the center of the front row:

IMG 2740

And here's the thin-leaved, much shorter Goji #7:

IMG 2741

And a little Goji side-by-side:

IMG 2742

The Mountain Temples are also showing a decent amount of variation, but nothing like the two Gojis. Also, I know it's hard to tell from the camera angle, but all of these plants, with the exception of the smaller Goji, are way too big. There's not gonna be enough room in the tent for these six plants once they're done stretching, even though they're in a 5 x 5 tent. Or shit, man, maybe there will be enough room. But I doubt it. I'm just kind of experimenting with these bigger pots and shit, pretty curious to see what happens when I veg plants for 60+ days in bigger pots than my old 3 gallons. I mean, I always veg for around 60 days, but I went a little too far this time, I think.

Just as an aside, none of the clones have started showing roots yet, which is annoying as FUCK. But whatever. It was really rainy and grey and cold the past few days, so I dunno if that has anything to do with it, but I don't really give a shit about the clones at this point. Been feeling a little tired and just kind of over everything lately, really looking forward to getting these bitches flowered and finished. I expect good things, but for whatever reason, I'm not feeling as amped as I probably should about this grow. That doesn't mean I'm gonna neglect it or anything (that would be a total waste of time and energy, not to mention power and water haha...), but I haven't felt as stoked as I normally would since the very beginning of this grow. No idea why. I think I'm sick of reading about organic growing and everybody and their mother's opinion about "the best" way to grow and all the shit that one should or shouldn't do. It's fucking information overload, man.

I usually go outside as soon as I get out of bed, light a cigarette and open up the iPad to read about.... I dunno, whatever I read about when I wake up haha and today I was just like,"Pssssshhhh..... Fuck my iPad, fuck the internet, I have no desire to read about anything that might be on there," and closed it and just smoked and watched my dogs stare at me, waiting for me to feed them haha.

Anyway, I'll probably feel a little more excited once flowering starts.

Maybe I should go get a job.... Hahaha!!!!

Beautiful man, they're rearing to go!!! Wishing you an abundant Bodi harvest... :)

P.S- I really have to try my hand at sexing plants one of these days because I'd really like to run Bodi's gear. I've heard so many good things about it...
I can't even remember how long I've been growing,(more than 10 years less than 15). It was Dutch Passion Strawberry Cough(fem), (which was very new), that gave me the confidence to take a shot at doing my first grow and I never looked back. The only thing is, every grow since has been a fem grow. Lots of reasons for this but the biggest one is that growing plants is still a no no by me, so the less, the better... ;)

Yeah, I'm not sure how I'd handle being in a non-med state. It'd be annoying for sure. But you should try some Bodhi gear anyway. I believe I've grown seven of his hybrids (not including this current grow) and they've all been really easy and turned out really well, too. Fingers crossed on this one. Gonna water them with a little alfalfa meal tea tonight, we'll see how they respond. I've given it to them twice before and they fucking loved it, praying their asses off the next morning.

Anyway, thanks!

I trashed the " clones" haha, if you wanna even call them that. They weren't doing anything. I did tear open the rooting pucks before I did, though. One of them had like three tiny little roots starting, two of them had one little root starting, the rest? Nothin'. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but next time I'm just gonna build a mister-type thing. I've heard about people getting really good results with those aero cloner things. My method sucks, obviously haha....

I haven't cloned cannabis yet but I've cloned a few common herbs, some roses and a few other types of plants. On all of those I just put cuttings in a cup of plain tap water on the window sil and changed the water every day until I get roots. Hopefully cannabis is just as easy. I planned on using rooting hormone and rapid rooters but might try the water method as well just to k.i.s.s. Hopefully we both find a method that works for us.

Hoowee.... What a shitty couple of weeks, right? The first time I ever voted was in, I think, 1992. Er, wait, no, I think it was 19996, cuz I wasn't 18 in 1992. Anyway, I've voted every four years since then and I can't ever recall feeling as AWFUL about the outcome of an election as I have about this one. My girlfriend and I spent a couple days crying after November 8 or 9, whenever it was. Literally CRYING. And there's something inherently wrong with watching the Daily Show or Stephen Colbert and crying haha. Plus, I've been having a really hard time getting out of bed lately. Usually I just wake up around 6 or 630, no alarm necessary. But lately I haven't even been opening my eyes until 930 or so. Then I've just been lying in bed, thinking maybe a little too much, until about 1130, at which point I force myself to get up. My boxers barking in my face, saying,"Feed us, feed us!" for an hour helps motivate me to get up and do something, too haha.

Anyway.... Shit.... So I guess that's my way of apologizing for neglecting this thread. Plus, it's only been three weeks of 12/12, not too much to show just yet. Watered with a couple of barley SST's, a little coconut water, potassium silicate etc etc over the course of the last three weeks. Took some pics last night, but the memory card filled up halfway through, so I didn't get to take pics of all of them, but whatever. Y'all get the idea. Oh, and one of the Mountain Temples showed male after a few days of 12/12, so I'm down to five plants. Which is actually a good thing, I think, because these motherfuckers are stretching and getting huge all over the place. Wouldn't have had room for six plants anyway.

Mountain Temple #3:

IMG 2800

IMG 2801

IMG 2802

IMG 2803

And here's Mountain Temple #2. This one is the Appalachian-leaning one. At least I think it is, just because of the big ol' fan leaves. It also hasn't stretched as much as the other two, which have stretched considerably. This one, more than any of the other plants, has been praying it's ass off ever since I started 12/12. Whatever I'm doing, it really seems to appreciate it.

IMG 2805

IMG 2807

IMG 2815

Goji #3:

IMG 2819

I like how that last pic looks all 70's-ish and groovy and shit haha! Anyway, more Goji #3:

IMG 2820

IMG 2824

And here's Goji #7. This was the one with the thin leaves that I thought looked more Sativa-leaning than the other Goji. But it really hasn't stretched at all. Like literally, maybe 50%. I dunno, it might have been a little more than that, I forgot to measure them when I switched to 12/12, but it hasn't stretched nearly as much as any of the other plants. I ended up putting it on top of a five gallon bucket, just because the other plants were towering over it and preventing it from getting any light.

IMG 2825

IMG 2829

So that's that. I guess I did get pics of all of them except the Mountain Temple #5, which is unfortunate because that's the lime green pheno. It looks good, though haha. I just deleted a bunch of pics from my camera's memory card, so next time I take pics, there'll definitely be some photos of that one.

Anywaaaaayyyyyy.....

And for anybody who might be feeling a little anxious or depressed or disgusted and repulsed by the outcome of the election and the ensuing cabinet member choices of Donald fucking Trump, this is something that a friend of my family's, Joe Henry (brilliant songwriter/musician/producer and all-around decent human being) posted a couple of days after the election that made me feel ever-so-slightly better. Hopefully it'll do the same for anybody who might read this:

“Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up.” —James Baldwin

BRIGHTON, UK
Personally, I feel paralyzed just now. Demoralized. Weary, and angry beyond accounting.

I am not sure if I have ever been more ashamed of my country –for our pettiness, and lack of empathy; for our star-struck gullibility, our acquiescence to fame and power; for our arrogant nationalism; for our insistence on maintaining a false racial and gender hierarchy over communion at the table with the greater human family.

I feel like I did as a bewildered and struggling parent the morning of September 11th –or as I imagine my own parents must have felt at the murders of John and Robert Kennedy –and of Dr. King, struck down even as he stood at the threshold and beckoned us enter the upper room where suffering might finally give way to compassion and peace, and to reconciliation –of our purpose with god’s, and our sacred obligations to each other.

It is tempting this hour to think, “the world has just changed.”

Would that it were so. But as friend and mentor Harry Belafonte just gently reminded me, there is no news to be found in a ratification of white male privilege, institutionalized racism, entrenched misogyny, and a deep-seated fear and suspicion of all Otherness.

“I’m of course troubled and deeply disappointed,” he allows. “But you understand that this is not my first disappointment.”

In truth, what sits at the heart of our present despondency has been in place and steeping for decades --nay, centuries; and what we are feeling so acutely is in fact a lost opportunity *for* change. Without the shift that we'd all worked and prayed for, we are instead confronted now with stasis that feels dank as a basement.

Though once the fog of despair relaxes its choke-hold, I suspect we will see clearly what we instinctively already know --that there is no such thing as stasis. All is in motion and always has been, and thus in a state of perpetual evolution.

That carries with it its own authentic dangers and anxieties, of course; but like anyone learning to walk: once we stop focusing on the falling, we may find we are unconsciously moving under our own power to touch something that has captured our imagination from the other side of the room.

In this low moment, I recall that ours is a country that built monuments to truth and justice using slave labor; a nation that demanded warring sacrifice from its most brutally marginalized citizens, and then refused them coffee. A country that has historically expected three things from women: offspring, familial and conjugal servitude, and that they keep their voices down while the rest of us are getting serious work done.

It is also the nation of Armstrong and Ellington. Whitman and Tubman. Lincoln, Emerson, and Frederick Douglass. Holiday, Guthrie, Twain, Elliot, Waller, Parker, and Darrow. Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt. Robinson. Robeson. Melville. Martin and Malcolm. Stevens, Williams, Adams, O’Keefe, the Marx Brothers, and Bucky Fuller. Baldwin, O’Connor and Welty. Angela Davis and Roberto Clemente. Buster Keaton and Muhammad Ali. Cage, Pollack, and Shirley Chisholm. Miles and Nina, Mingus and Monk. Bob and Ray. Bob. And Ray. Jimmy Carter and Gloria Steinem and Dr. Paul Farmer.

Note that neither reality reflected in the two paragraphs above has ever proved to be defeating or excluding of the other.

It is tempting today, yes, to crawl beneath something and stay there –and if my life allowed it just now, I’m not so sure I wouldn’t. I’ve been gutted. But those who would bully and bum-rush us past our better angels would love nothing more than for those who disagree with the program to simply collapse –quit the scene and disappear.

We will not.

We will instead, each of us, lean into whatever is our small work to do in this big world.

Tuesday was a day like no other. And a day like so very many before it –wherein we learned we must recalculate and become aligned anew with just what more is being asked of us, and invited.

The election was never going to change or define us, but stands rather to identify our point of progress, like the dot on a shopping plaza kiosk map, saying:

YOU ARE HERE.

We take our measure of just where that is. We imagine our destination and wonder at the time.

We can’t go on.

We go on.

JH

Just spent the last hour and a half reading the news. I'm deeply troubled and disturbed by what I've read. donald trump (I refuse to capitalize his name) thinks that he doesn't need daily briefings from the Intelligence Community, saying, and I quote,"I'm, like, a smart person." Yes, I suppose he is LIKE a smart person, but sadly, he isn't a smart person. I'm horrified. And scared. And just, like.... Ummmmm..... WTF????

Anyway, there's been some speculation between myself and @Limonene that the Goji beans may not be legit. And I think that may be accurate. The differences between the two Gojis I'm growing are just to vast for me not to think that that may be the case. I feel pretty confident that the Mountain Temple beans are legit, but the Gojis.... I dunno. I've smoked several different Goji phenos, so I guess I'll truly know once their all dried and cured and I get some in my lungs. Here's some pics, I'll let y'all be the judge.

Goddamnit, I guess I didn't get pictures of the other Goji and the other Mountain Temple. Psssshhhhh..... Shit, man.... Sorry, y'all, I'll try to do better next time haha.

Anyway, my RO unit has been having issues lately, had to get a new tank, but that took about a week to get here and once I hooked it up, there were more issues. Guess I have to change out the filters, too, gonna do that at some point today. I'm worried that I may need a new membrane, as well. I hope I don't, just because I don't have a replacement for the membrane on hand. But basically that's my way of saying that I've been having to water my plants with fucking bottled water for a little bit. Been using a 50/50 mixture of distilled and spring water, since distilled has zero ppm's and spring water is around 80 ppm. I dunno if it matters or not, but it just seemed like the right thing to.

The smell coming from what I think are the Mountain Temples (although it could be a combination of the two strains) are fucking UNBELIEVABLE. Straight-up sour sour SOUR. I can taste it in my mouth for an hour or two after I get done watering and shit, smell it all over my hands and body (my girlfriend says every time after I get done watering and climb into bed,"You smell like weed...." haha). Just a really delicious sour citrus smell, coupled with a weird earth-y smell that I can't really put my finger on. I think I said this before, maybe not, but it's like a gross, rotting earth thing going on. To be honest, I don't really like that aspect of the smell, but I can tell that after a good cure, this weed is gonna be fucking DELICIOUS.

So that's that, I guess. Watered them with a little coconut, aloe and K Silicate a couple nights ago, probably gonna give them an SST/fulvic one last time and then straight water only after that until I chop, which I'm thinking will probably be four weeks from now. Maybe a little less. The smaller Goji looks like it might be done sooner than that, but we'll see. Sooooo.... Yeah. Happy Sunday, happy holidays, happy life to everybody haha.

Hey MT, they look great. I know both you and limonene are familiar with bodhi gear so I'm curious as to what has you both questioning the legitimacy of the gojis? Also if you don't mind me asking where you sourced them? Side note: its good to be involved, but don't let things out of your control have any negative effect on your day. Good smoke and good vibes brotha! :smoking:

The reason why we're questioning the legitimacy of the Gojis is because of where they were sourced: Cannazon. There's been a lot of complaints that people aren't getting legit genetics from Mr C and limo himself got some fake SSDD beans from him. He showed me a post from some breeder (can't remember who offhand) who said that they hadn't sent Cannazon beans in years, but he's still selling their "genetics." I was actually suspicious myself, because when I bought those packs of Goji, about two years ago, EVERY other seed bank was out of them, except the Zon. So I dunno. They look fucking great, whatever they are. And like I said, the smoke test will be the deciding factor. There's just such a huge difference between the two Gojis for me not to wonder if I got legit genetics. Whatever.....

As far as letting things I have no control over affecting me: it's gonna happen haha. I need to let it happen, actually. I don't want to get to the point where this bullshit that's going on starts to seem normal. It ain't normal.

My bad. The first three Goji pics are the #3, the last two Goji pics (the full plant shots) are the #7, which is the thin-leaved one that didn't stretch. In case anybody cares haha. So I guess the only plant I didn't get pics of is the MT #5, the lime green pheno. Which sucks. This is the second time I haven't posted pics of that one and it's my favorite plant. Heavily Sativa-leaning, thinnest leaves, stretched the most, biggest plant in the garden. I'll make sure to get pics of that one next time. It's beasting the fuck OUT.
