That lower canopy of fan leaves I left have mostly been sucked dry of nutrients with a few left in the process. This lower canopy lets me know when senescence has arrived.

This tiny growth is at the lowest point of the manifold. Shaded Under all the canopy. Yet look how frosty it is.
