Well we got everything cleaned up, like it never happened, except for some drifts. The roads are finally starting to dry out enough a guy can get around. Ive got a guy coming out tomorrow to help me get the cover on the cold frame. Winds are meant to be 10-15 so it ought to be doable. Then well start uppotting. I have some soil here, and will have another pallet sunday.

What day you recon youll be out goldnboy? Im gonna put the rub on the tri tips tonite, ill have to fire up the smoker early so we can have them for lunch.

Brought a little Pigmy goat buckling home a hundred years ago. His little horns were only three quarter inch nubs. Old Hen comes home and says, "What the fuck is it and what the fuck is it doing in my living room?"
Goat looked at her, jumped up on the couch, jumped up on the back of the couch, and butted her square in the head.
Goat wasn't allowed inside after that. Just as well. The fucker stunk like hell once he hit puberty. Bathed him twice in a row and he still stunk.

I'll bet she was mad! They are funny to watch as babies, but the billies stink so bad. Have you seen fainting goats? There's some funny sh*t!

Just wanted to say I'm proud of you old farts. We've gone an entire day without supervision and nobody got their panties twisted. God bless ya all, and that's sayin' a lot coming from an atheist.:)

morning guys. rain today, good day to take the truck to work. i am getting fired up to swap to a manual gearbox. I told myself i would not do the swap until my automatic bites the dust, should have another 30-50k miles left in it, and at 4k miles a year i think i will be fine for a while yet. it will give me a chance to source my parts for the swap at a good price. my plan is to swap to a 6 speed gearbox and swap from rear differential from 3.23 to a 3.73 final drive. then at some point pull the 4.3 v6 and drop n a 6.0 v8. i got to say, this little v6 is a mule. pulls a 6k pound Kabota tractor pretty good. i am impressed with the amount of torque it puts out. better than some of the smaller prissy v8's. My main reason for the swap is i need more truck, but i like what i have and its paid for. plus i can rebuild a manual gearbox, i don't work on auto's. So i smoked a bowl of the speediest stuff i got before heading to work. i think its working!!

Had three of those 4.3 Vortec motors in trucks. First one ('90) was the fastest vehicle I ever owned. 19 miles to the gallon, city or highway. Second was in a '94; not quite as quick, but got 23 on the highway at 90 mph. Third was in a '08, 4WD. Slowest of the bunch, 12 in the city and 16 on the highway. Sucked.

took my 63 c10 to auto from 4 speed. not sure which way i'm going with it now, hopped up 350 4 speed or stock 454 th400. if i go stick i got to change the rear gears but the 454 th400 with work with the 2.41 that is in it. i did set it up for a daily driver distant gas mileage ride. was nice to run 70 mph and only about 2500 rpms. it now has disc brakes up front but someone butchered my wiring harness and took the light switch. i know who it was and they no longer come around. so i got to rewire it again, that one was from a s10 truck.

Never could figure out why Chevy would fuck up a good thing. First, they had the full sized C10. Great truck, very popular. Then they come along with the LUV truck (sucked). Then they come up with the S10. Uber popular. Not good enough to have a large and small truck, they come up with a midsize. 'Bout as popular as a dose of clap in a hippie commune.
So, what do they do? They dump the S10! And the dumb asses wonder why the gooks are taking over the market?

The bus is a Ford with a beaner made Mazda motor and tranny, made under license by Ford in Mexico and shipped to Turkey, where the bodies are made and final assembly is done.
Funny thing about how they bring 'em over. To avoid a super big tax on work type vehicles, all Transit Connects come over with a rear bench seat and windows all the way around. When they land in New York, they're stripped of the rear seat and extra windows and converted back to cargo vans. It saves 'em paying what is called the "Chicken tax". Ain't gotta clue why is called that, but it is.

Sounds like you have a passion. I understand how they work, & can identify most of the parts. But, nothing ever goes as planned, when I try to work on one.
I just replaced a starter on my 350. I bought the exact same starter, shimmed it with the same shims. It no worky! A buddy came over, pulled it off, and put it right back on. Now it starts fine.
I said, wtf. He just shrugged.
