Thanks brotha! I appreciate it. I just try to communicate with people. Communication is usually where messages get lost IME.I really love reading your replies. You engage people in your comments... Love that... Keep on!!!
With all the reading of everybody's journals, i feel i have gained so many years worth of experience... The fact that i have gained so much, i know it will take a few years of learning (growing) to fully understand and grow this plant without error.
With that being said. My first grow is still in action... (106 days in)
They are fattening up nicely. Even though i defoliated them a bit to much.
The one has turned purple almost 100% from the cold and has pink pistils... Looks amazing...
The other 2 are fattening up much more than the purple WW. Not sure when i am going to harvest them...
That is the only part i feel i have no clue about.
Drying, curing and burping the jars so on... i am currently doing all that on the plant that is my profile picture... she gave me purple/green nugs...
So i am trying my best to get as much information into my head because i really love growing these plants.
My disadvantage now is that i don't have anything like a 420 scope... will get one ASAP.
I also have problems with getting my seeds to pop... Temps are cold...
As far as drying and curing make sure you do a lot of reading and have a good understanding what's happening when you cure and if you understand it makes it easier to know when it's right. It's not hard but if not done right you can end up with some bud that smells like grass and taste like shit. Lol
Depending on humidity where you are at you can either cut individual branches or cut the whole plant and hang her whole. Hanging whole will help in a dry environment to dry evenly and not too quickly. It should take about a week to hang dry
A couple ways to tell if it's dry is to bend the stem. If it folds soft and with zero pop feeling it's still wet. If it "pops" and bends over at 90 degree it's a good sign it's done. Feel the buds the sugar leaves should be dry to the touch and outside of bud should feel dry to the touch by not crunchy. Lastly take a little big and roll a joint. If it burns nice and even it's ready for the jars
Once in jars fill them about 2/3 full (leave some room for air) I leave them the first day 24 then open them 15 min. The bud will feel a little more moist than when you put it in. If it's too moist leave the lid off longer or take them out for an hour or so.
Continue "burping" for 15 min twice a day until they feel how you like it. You will know. After about a week go to 1 burp a day. Try to do it at least 2-3 weeks it will be worth it. After that you can close the jar and store them.
A good trick is to get a cheap hygrometer and put it inside one of the jars. If it's over 70 leave it open a while and get down to around 70 at start of cure. It should lower with the cure. At about 64-65% is when you do 1 burp a day and when it gets to 60% you can store it long term. High 50's is good too.
Like I said tho do alotnof reading and you will get it down. Most of all don't overthink it.
I in no way want to sound like I think i know everything. I just try to relay info that has helped me in a way people can understand. I've cured a lot of outdoor grows and a good cure can make or break your harvest. At the same time there is not much to it
