Its cool...you dont necessarily have to.but ive found that if i keep it warm they will germinate quicker.ive had some in cold water and nothing happening and once i changed to warm water they shooted..i had some sunset sherbert in warm water and was getting close to 24 hrs and they wernt shooting so i made it even warmer then they all shooted .just put them in cold water whatever and the good ones will shoot regardless.the ones that dont put them in warm water and they should shoot..ive done it this way for donkeys years and works great.

Thinking I’ll get a clone tent . Use some cheap cfls . That way I can keep things going . Not looking for money to risky . Just enjoy a garden . I’ll let friends test . And if they want some then I’ll charge a fraction of the price just to fund the project.
If you decide to get a clone tent..I suggest getting a normal (height wise) tent, so it can be used for other things..ie: drying, etc..I think the prices are just about the same too. If you put the word "clone" in front of "tent"..bet the price goes up..LOL

I needed a 2x4 tent to fit in a certain spot..Unfortunately, most 2x4s are only 5 ft tall..It came down to a Quicent (amazon and was promptly sent back..horrible quality..hint: they even included a pictorial on how to open/close a zipper..LMFAO), Gorilla (too pricey for me) and Unit Farms (a Gorilla knockoff..high quality and all..no height extension, since that feature is patented by Gorilla). The six footer is perfect for me (usually 2-3 ft high plants..5 footer would have bee a waste of $$. (the only reason I knew about Unit Farms was because I got a free light from them for testing..along with a large discount code for a next purchase (brought the tent into reasonable price territory)

The 2x4 was supposed to be mostly for clones etc, but I am also using it now as a breeding tent when/if I need it.

I remove them once they have sunk..I use a modified paper towel method until I see tails..then into rockwool cubes to germinate. Modified = the use of coffee filters instead of paper towels..no way to rip tiny root hairs that way.also forms a natural "pocket" when you want to peek.

Crap . Don’t drink coffee . Only have paper towel
If that's what you want..go for it..
paper towels are fine..coffee filters are better imo..you can also just go from soak to medium, with no paper at all (safer until you get the feel for it)

I like to see that root for assurance. I can’t keep in water till tap root comes out ? Also veg tent only needs to House 3 or 4 clones .

Assurance of what? In some instances a tap root stops and refuses to sprout..I never drop a single seed for that and other reasons.
If that is your aim..it can certainly be done in paper towels..just offering alternatives.

Assurance that it’s growing and I don’t have a cup of dirt with broken dreams . So ok . Let’s say seeds sunk in the cup . I want to put in soil . Do I water the soil and put plastic wrap on top and put it in grow room ?that and idk what side to put seed down in . I don’t want it growing down .

Any side dude a seed knows which way is up down etc...your over thinking it buddy.near all times seeds float first couple hours later they will sink which is good.soon as a see they have shooted which is anywhere from 6hrs to 24..ive never damaged a seeds root in all 32 yrs growing.i scoop them out with a teaspoon drop on top of soil.make a little hole with something bout 7mm deep and lay on it side . and cover it .water it ,keep it moist and it will b up in 4-5days .cheers max

Your call..your grow..

I poke a 1/8 inch hole with my pinky..then lightly cover the seed with soil. I like the seed to be pointy side up, but it really doesn't matter..The tap root will grow down and make a 90d turn to acclimate itself.
I keep the soil MOIST (not wet) using an eyedropper. The hard part is keeping the soil damp after you take your "humidity dome " off. You take the humidity dome off as soon as she breaks the soil..Light is now needed but a VERY SMALL amount of light..Word to the wise..DON"T KILL IT WITH LOVE! It will do its thing with very little intervention from us (albeit it is growing in a made made habitat.)

Think this way..when seeds fall to the ground in nature..no one is there to make sure they fall in the correction..SOooo..they do their thing and the survival of the fittest yada, yada, yada..

Bigly day tomorrow as our weather is going downhill fast this week..Chop, chop, and it's gonna be a long
week..LOL

As this I understand. I’m in a non legal state . So getting quality seeds cost me around 40$ for 2 fem . I’ll krep them in the paper towel tonight then I’ll put in the medium tomorrow. I’ve always done paper towel in window seal . Think when I get these sprouted I’ll move the lesser of the light to other side of the tent. As far as the weather situation. That sucks . But you have some monsters. My state will be the last state to legalize. I wish I could grow out doors .i could if I moved in the country but I was born on an island and I can’t survive without the ocean .
