you got it going on sir...

Thank you my friend but I too am still learning. Never ends. Part of the reason I love this site is I can watch and learn what others are doing. I would never have tried coco (https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/plumbers-first-coco-grow.106096/) without seeing all the folks here rockin it.

I've been a dirt farmer all my life. Was taught how to grow stuff as a kid from my folks who always grew tomatoes, squash and this and that so I better be able to grow a few things after all these years.

I've had some pretty awesome success and more than my share of spectacular failures. I try to learn something from all but still prone to make a few familiar mistakes.

I read a lot and have learned more here then after 50+ years of having my hands in the dirt.

When the learning ends so do my days here.😉

Just spent 15 minutes on the driveway with our youngest. Broke out the GG4 and the bong so you know it's serious. He still won't get high in front of his mom. Kills me. We discussed his plants and my hydro grow and how he needs to learn it. I REALLY think it's time to bring him in as a full partner.

I've got him researching mycribal fungus. What a prick, eh? I didn't mention a partnership but the sooner I bring him in the better for me. He can take a daily feeding and learn and I can take off for a few needed days away. This parenting thing might be okay after all. Who knew?

Update 9-19-19

Bt has eliminated the moth larva invasion. Found 3 in the past week and not seeing any new damage. As a matter of fact the worst infested plant is producing new flower growth. Amazing. I really expected her to do little more than maintain.
20190919 121127

You can see the dead brown and the new light green growth.

I've already harvested close to 2 oz off her in the past month plus but that has ended.

The main cola is really fattening up.
20190919 121100

I sprayed the whole plant, flowers and all of all my outside girls and no more moth larva. I tried some dry bud I removed 3 days after the first spraying and no difference in taste.

The 😍 Love Birds

2 tops were dried and brown 2 weeks ago from the moth larva and today she's no worse for wear. Removed those 2 buds the other day and found a dozen immature seeds. That pisses me off more than losing buds.

All the rest are doing well. Buds full of seeds everywhere I look.

20190919 124702

They're all about 11 weeks in flower and will start harvesting within the next few weeks. Looking for couch lock and pain management and enough seeds for the winter, spring and next years crop and to share. Soon!

My first coco grow is doing well.

Growth slowed so upping their nutes.

Happy Growing👍

Used 3/8" copper tubbing as plastic tubbing won't last in the sun. It leaks (not bad, that's why my client got a new one) so I've got a ball valve to keep it off unless in use. I should have invested in a filter years ago.

Have you tried feminizing seeds with colloidal silver?
Nada, at least not yet. I'd really like to create a sog by either training or bunch of plants next year and it would be nice not having to remove males. I may keep a male or two this fall/winter. Who knows what might happen.😉

I'm embarking on my first CS project this fall, hope it goes well? I found a few CS products if you're interested I'll pass along the ones that were recommended to me

I'm putting a whole house filter 3/4 to a under sink ro unit, that I'm putting on a slop sink outside for use... Like what you did, so I'm putting a ball valve in also

Whole house filters need to be changed often, depending on your water quality. The pre-filter will take out most of the impurities but be ready to change every 2-3 months. Worth every penny! Our water is shit

Just installed an AO Smith RO unit for a client a few weeks ago. Good unit.

This blog/diary is OPEN! Post away. I'll look for your posts as well. Well water is normally very hard and alkaline. Sitting in rocky soil will do that to water being one of nature's best desolver's. On top of that we pollute our water sources daily, collectively, as a society. It is what it is so filtering our water only makes sense.

On a side note I've got rats doing the nasty on my patio. Making me chuckle. I love nature, one of the reasons I live here but there are trying times as well.

Just read through a few months of this diary which reminded me why I post it.

I've been giving our boy an eight every week for a while now but with the moth larva gone there's no more to harvest so I clipped 4 stems and gave him two nice ones a few hours ago. Told him how to trim, sent him a YouTube link and told him to research it.

He just ran out to his car for something so I sparked up the bong with home grown Chemgopher OG and we discussed pro's and con's of wet/dry trimming.

This is getting good. He's trimmed the buds and explained why. I added my 2 cents on why I prefer wet trim. We discussed the amount of waste in rolling one up compared to a pipe filled with no more than a couple hits (he likes joints) and told him I'll put together a pipe for him. He assured me he had a pipe. He'll be gitting a killer glass pipe for Christmas. I have Amazon prime.😉

Really enjoying sharing all this stuff. He's getting into it.👍

He's off work tomorrow so we're going to wrap the small greenhouse and talk. There's so much to share in the 60 minutes we'll spend tomorrow.

Decided to make him a full partner. It's time, sooner than I thought. He'll be blown away and no doubt walking on air for a few hours. I'll be sure to remind him of the dangers of saying anything to anyone, ever.

I showed him how to use the tea and his grow is doing well. He's still grabbing the moisture meter daily and I shake my head. Whatever works I guess. Can't wait until he knows by feel if they need water.

We're getting down to 12 hrs light per day. Must get the lights setup in the greenhouse this weekend. On at 5am off at 7 and on at 6pm and off at 8. 15 hrs should keep them in veg.

All old plastic from the greenhouse has been stuffed under the pallets for insulation for this winter. Usually toss it.

Coco grow growing again but looks like a calcium deficiency.

Only 3 leaves, this is the worst, on 12 plants so catching it early. I'm going to mix a gallon of each, 2.4 grams per gallon of water of tomato and calcium nitrate and 1.2 grams magnesium sulfate. A half cup of each mixed with water in a gallon container is a full dose. It will be easy to dilute at a quarter strength.

6 days until my next planting. Gonna schedule with our boy and have him do it.👍👍👍

I just put this filter, iSpring WSP-50SL - Reusable Spin Down Sediment Water Filter/w Siliphos - Multiple Micron sizes, 20 GPM, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, in my cabin.

You open the valve and it flushes the filter. I got the 60 micron model. It removes 90% of the rust. I still need to add some more filters as well as a booster pump. RO’s need 90 psi to work properly. My system is only 60 psi.

A carbon filter is needed most. Adding a 2 stage ($40-50) from Amazon or Home Depot would do it. Water hardness is difficult. RO units work well but there's a lot of waste. If you go that route try collecting as much waste water as possible and put in on the lawn/flower beds. Soil is pretty stable and forgiving.
