Just an update with goings on.

20200320 094332

The flower tent (3×3×6 with 480w of kingbrite 3000k goodness with 46w of deep red) growing 2 gelato about week 5 or 6. I don't normally count weeks, a plant is done when it's done 🤣

20200320 091941

Small gelato bonsai, unkempt for the last 2 weeks. This is how I trim it.

20200320 092919

I will be taking a few clones before I flip it and self it. So a few of those inner branches will be gone soon.

20200320 091859

The unknown 10+ year old blueberry rescue clone. Fully rooted and lots of new growth, still coming out of flower.
She will be raised much like the bonsai gelato, clones taken and maybe selfed and or bred with the gelato. Who knows.

New to me:

I was given 3 clones from a buddy who tells me they are from the guy who's won gold 3 years in a row in the organic category. I have smoked lots of this, and I'm currently sitting on a couple oz of it till my gelato is done. It's not bad, but I don't see it winning gold TBH.

Anyways, these 3 clones are from the apparent gold winner 3 years in a row, in BC in the organic category.

They are brutal. I cant see anyone with these problems scoring in the top 10, let alone first place.

Right away I see thrips crawling around on the leaves. And massive thrip damage to the leaves. Fungus gnats flying out of the drain holes. Burnt tips and withered leaves.

I have put them in to isolation in a small tent by themselves. I hit them up with safers insecticidal soap spray then removed all the damage. I was a bit brutal, as I honestly didn't want these plants. So I dont give a shit if they live or not.

These are apparently master kush gold winning strain. From a gold metal winner 3 years in a row. With all the problems of a noob grower.

I dont believe the stories. The plants tell me different.

All dried and mostly cured, the 2 gelato grown under 2x240w kingbrite dimmed down to 60% to 70% yielded 462g (just over a pound)

At 70% the fixtures should have been running at around 336w. So around 1.39g per watt. But those are estimated numbers at 70% if it was 60% it would be more like 1.6g per watt. My guess is it was between the 2 at 1.5g per watt.

I want to get one of those KW/H meters to get more accurate numbers for next go round. 👍

Hey there nice job on the gelatos! How’s the smoke? I’ve never had the opportunity to ever smoke that strain😢

Alright. After 9 days of hanging, it's dry and in the bucket. Final weight is 357g. About 40g or so is what I would consider popcorn and will be going to a buddy who makes shit out of it along with all the trim.
Hey big cube really loves reading through your whole thread again tonight, do you think the scrog method is much better than topping and getting those big dongs? Since correct me if I'm wrong but you yielded 130+ grams more with scrog?
