Dose anyone grow fruit n veg in your back yards .

I did the same thing a few years ago it works for a while but the animals get used to it the only thing that truly helps is a fence, but it sure gave a lot of smiles to the farmers around here .probably seen a dozen car stop and take photos that first year... I totally foresaw and fully accept the eventuality that some hood will make off with it... I'll finish stuffing it with something gross I think...

So the peppers are doing well, except the bugs munching steadily... They're fine but it looks so bad lol what do you guys think would help stop it? Not even sure whats causing it because i never see any bugs when im checking them

I got this a while ago to try putting up around a section of the patio outside, its 14x14' to give the plants a safer space to live than the squirrel's super-highway they're currently residing lol

Just havent hung it up yet.. Guess I gotta.

It very well might be I just picked it up this spring for my son and there was not a brand listed on the title...I actually thought it was an old Lund like the one in my garage that I've had for 20 some years.. looks really similar accept it doesn't have the foam under the seats and it has a river rat logo on the rear

The bites in the leafs could be anything from slugs to ants to earwigs.. DE if your that worried bout it if there not eating the fruit i wouldn't worry

There were a few rodents living in it last fall when I took it out of the garden so I save the head and I'm going to remake it.. just waiting on a day where my grandkids come over so they can help

Well it’s been another week and we have has some great rain again now my second 1000 lt tank is full and I’ve switched back over to tank #1 to top it up this weekend more rain on it way I’ve used 200 odd lt out of it so I’ve got a bit of room to top it up , the hens are loving the orchard I’m making still getting a few eggs but it’s now winter and there on the molting cycle of there year why they loose there feathers in winter is stupid to say the least ..... Dinosaur they are ... Veggies are loving the free water I haven’t hat to water at all this week just a worm tea drink and some coffee rounds around the Brassicas , snow peas are I flower as are the peas , carrots n spinach are doing fine , broad beans have shown and need a weed , got my spuds chatted and ready to go just need my potato planter bags to show up , didn’t get time to make a new spud bed due to bad back and having to get chicken coup finished , so enough about me what’s good this week in your back yards regards OD .

The last pic is my other side of the yard I have apricot and 2 Cox orange pippin growing there soon to be extended , along the side fence line going to put some olives in Spanish Queen and Calamarta I’ve got room for 5 olives I do like the green gray foliage they present and I’ll prune them into a hedge to screen from the neighbour's which we get on very well with , to me it’s ground being wasted I want it filled in ...

So as I'm pulling weeds in my garden I come across this plant couldn't even begin to tell you what it is or where it came from even though I did compost some plants last year... The grower in me has such a hard time pulling this, even though it's probably junk but it can't stay here any ideas on what it is?

Hey growers my wife had been at me to get the spuds in damn. We are both Irish decent and our boys love spuds do I hoped to it but got a little help from my Chicken tractor , I did a bit now they can have a crack turning over the soil and strping out the weeds n grass .It's a beautiful Sunday morning rain had past so ground is soft to dig .

All looking great everyone. I have had an extended period of leave, but now I'm back and starting up slowly. I thought I'd first show our uk attempt of veg and fruit growing on a small scale, in a semi rural housing estate.

We have just planted our first ever straw bail garden, with tomatoes, courgettes and strawberries. So I'm excited to see how this works out for ease of setup, planting, maintenance and cost it looks great.

I also planted a few small fruit trees and bushes 2 years ago including cherries, apple , pear, raspberry, gooseberry, blackberries.

I'll try and keep things updated.

So i put the net up around the peppers and cucumbers. No more squirrel intruders digging them up.... Last time almost lost a plant and that was the last straw lol.
My girl got herself a Venus Flytrap "B52", figured we could just stick it out on the patio with the peppers and maybe help catch an ocassional bug to eat... Two birds one stone... One less bug to bite the leaves and one less plant to feed
