So when they de leaf things improve.

The small pot of coco or rockwool cube grows packed together on tables are like this.

With spaced out bushes i lose yield every time if i take many leaves.
I would agree yet those grows seem to produce a much higher yield. So again I dont think there is one answer to the question... but several depending on the individual grow

This ..hit the nail on the head..

Yup........for someone like me- who jams 12 plants on each side in a 4.5 X 4.5 sq. ft. area with a leafy strain- I guess defoliation was the right thing to do. At this point though, I'm thinking a lot about topping a plant as much as defoliating, especially with the Sweet Zombie that puts off a monster center cola.............

Yep you havnt had much choice bro but your making the most of your room without going to too much difficulty..ive only ever used phototropisim using the plants own stimulant for decades..

Orange Gasm effects........... As noted earlier, I haven't touched on what smoking this does to you, as the podcast just barely touches on it at the very, very end. I listened to it again tonight, probably my 6th (and last) time and here were his final comments:

1. Good morning medicine.......puts a zip in your step but not racy.........
2. Great for mood enhancement and good vibes............
3. It will give you "O" face- just a big old smile..........
4. Great for anxiety and relaxing..............
5. Chills you out............

So, bottom line- it's a typical sativa and it screws with your head with not much body to it.

Sounds about right, given the genetics.

I haven't checked since the last time...........lights on in 5 minutes and I'll report back shortly.

Hi mate..Ive noticed you dont have a tray under pots.do you pull them out to water wait awhile then put back in or is the floor on a slight angle and you collect at front or something..reason i ask is that when i start i wanted to position the plants a certain way but the 2 trays wont allow it.so ive been thinking of either making a big tray or pull them out to water..

I have a tarp down, over an unfinished cement floor. I don't over water, so the floor doesn't flood or get overly wet. I do not pull the plants out, I'm on my knees reaching to all the parts of the room hand watering, plant by plant. So no trays, they sit directly on the floor. I don't like to have my plant roots sitting in the tray with water- I just want the overflow to flow out and be done with it.

I rubbed 3-4 plants with both hands, and I didn't find any orange at all. The citrus/grapefruit smell has morphed into something different, more complex and spicy I guess- it's a familiar smell but I can't wrap my nose around it to identify it. I think I remember reading the orange/tangerine/citrus is strongest at the end of flowering, brought on (probably) by the drying period and cure.

To be honest, at this point- I'm much more concerned about the next crop already since there's not much left to do with this one except wait until they're done and chop everything down. I never worry about the good or the bad, as I've grown too many crops now to let the highs or lows bother me. And since I'm not smoking at all except to test/try the finish product, my excitement level is rather ho-hum.

So, my only real questions are about the yield factor and quality- will the lights produce enough for my needs and is the finished product better than it would have been under HPS?

Likely to come out in a good cure, yeah. Sounds like you're a perfect case of the old Rosenthal axiom lol.

Ah ok.yeah im using a mesh on top of tray so theyre not in the nutrients..

Doesn’t the cold basement floor keep the root zone to cold?

I had this house custom built 19 years ago, and started growing on day 2, but in another out cove (alcove)- also in the basement. And never had a issue. Actually, at one time- I was growing on those rubber industrial restaurant kitchen mats, probably 3 ft X 4 ft. It didn't make one bit of difference in the end. I thought it would, but saw no difference. It did catch the overflow water better, but dried salt would build up on/in the mats and they started to disintegrate over a few years. They weren't worth it, plus they were heavy as shit.

And what's the old Rosenthal axiom???

You can't get addicted to smoking pot, but you can be addicted to growing it 🙃

Things are definitely getting "chunky"............both sides of the room.
