Thread titles need to be 5 words min now? Thats weird...

Anyway.. Ok, This isn't news for some of you but my last grow went tits up due to a mechanical disaster... so I'm having to start over.

Just got back from town with supplies to get things planted up tomorrow.

This one is a big departure for Ol' Dirtbag. Im mixing up an organic soil and feeding organic also. This isn't exactly a first for me, but its been 20 years anyway.. Reason for going back to organics is simple, this pot is all for me and my head alone, so quality is the only factor im measuring.

Soil mix will be 109L of Proterra peat mix, 20L canna coco, 20L worm castings, 4 cups gaia green 4-4-4,... and 4 cups of neem seed meal.
Using 5 gal fabric pots and handwatering for this round..

Feeding will be lakewater with calcium silicate and Epsom added, and using Earth Juice Grow, Bloom and micros. Skipped the catalyst as it seems like its mostly enzymes, carbs and kelp. I will be supplementing Kelp with floraliscious plus, Enzymes I use already... Not planning on using molasses.

Tomorrow is planting day! For now... Here is a pic of my Nutes lol...

Haha, got me... I've got a handful of seed plants including the ones so kindly donated by you waiting in the wings, And I have a bunch of clones rooting that I got from Kanzeon, but honestly I think they will be going into the next crop cycle. My buddy stopping by and infusing a roomful of fully rooted premium cuts sort of changed how I need to approach this.

I've got your Bahama mamas going, as well as Grape diamonds for seed plants at the moment. For rooted clones I have 8 x 4 star general, 4 Kush mint tarts, 3 cush mints (?) one spiked punch, and one wedding crasher.

Clones will likely take the real estate in the flower room since I can flip them so much sooner. But this also looks like I'll be running 2 crops back to back instead of just the one like I had planned. Which is fine... Stockpile right? lol

Does the calcium silicate do double duty for calcium as well as the silica (instead of potassium silicate)?

Im in for the show. :-)

I almost went with earth juice when i picked pure blend pro. My old caregiver here used it. Real interested.

I'm a little nervous, I'm not gonna pretend I'm not.. Im wading into somewhat unfamiliar territory here. I strayed away from organics years ago for several legit reasons i can get into later...
But I've used EJ before back in the 90's, it was actually the first nutrient I ever used on my first ever indoor plants and truely, to this day those were some of the tastiest, smelliest plants I've ever grown. Im going out on a limb in an attempt to see how far I can push them in the flavour dept... Just wish I still had a Platinum Cookies or Bubba cut to see the difference. No way of knowing how much different this method turns out other than comparing it to my buddies pot from the same strains. But he is on another level... lol, I'll be surprised if I grow something that tastes better than his.

Yeah why not? I have a plethora of seeds. And I’m guilty, I’m going to buy 1 more pack of solfires Don Dada. North fire cookies x Don mega. Looks just absolutely killer with a dirty gym sock terp and hints of sweetness. I have a feeling you will kill it brotha.

Nice!

Yeah I'm going a bit bonkers on the biological stuff.. Fish shit, worm castings, RAW microbes and enzymes... I want the soil teeming with as much life as possible since so much of my feed is insoluble and none of it is chemically chelated. I truely believe that the benefits of organic production, particulrly enhanced flavour and aroma comes from not just the presence of beneficial microbes, but the reliance on them, which you just can't quite achieve with chelated nutrients. You can come close and grow a deadly clean product, likely with better bag appeal, but there is something magic about smoking well grown organic weed. And there is also the peace of mind I get from doing something naturally. Or at least as close to naturally as I'm able/willing to get indoors without going no till.

My fingers are firmly crossed it goes well. We will see. And your seeds are going to be grown, that is a fact man! I'm very much appreciative that you did that for me, But I also know how much of a pain it is to grow clones and seeds together and I just can't go down that path again lol. Not until I get back on my feet at least, I need to pull a crop before I run out of smoke and the tickle trunk is running low! lol These clones are tall and bushy and ready to just explode... I can't deny them that opportunity lol. I'll veg the seeds since they're already sprouted for the next run, which is honestly better because I can select dominant plants and take cuts etc, and they will be well matured by then so cloning and flipping will be a breeze. It'll also allow me to rip those Don Carlos!

Fuck yeah brother. There is no rush whatsoever. Glad I am able to help. Those Don Carlos sound like something special, specially if you’re able to find “the one.” Happy grows brother.

I’m pretty interested myself. I’m considering the Down to Earth amendments when I run out of what I have.

The problem for me is i dont want compost or smelly nutrients breaking down in my indoor growrooms. I will smell them in my living room.

Also even ocean forest attracts springtails here. Pro mix does not.

Thats why im going to mix in ozmocote. A controlled release dry fertilizer to the pro mix to give it base nutrients like good organic potting soil. With no poop smell.
