A Forum Breeding Project (in more than 5 words)

It occurred to me last night that despite people's best intentions some who "sign up" now might not be able to follow through in a few months when I send the seeds out. I'm gonna hold off on the letters for now. @amekins is designing a great system for us to catalog stuff together online and it's possible we could just move to a 3 letter system then.

I'm OK with one letter but the 3 JSH would have it a little personalised which would be nice.
My current hope and almost plan is to get another tent when this grow is finished, I'm looking at 1x2x2m and use my 60/120/180cm for drying and other growing, I'm aiming for 3 tents in total for next year as experience builds up.
I can see myself staying with Coco/Perlite grows only for at least until 2022 if that makes any difference in the bigger scheme of things.

I'm going to cross in a few weeks and document the process doing it two ways. Collecting pollen and "painting" then seeding a small tent.. Flipping the so the timing is pollination happening right when I chop my main flower tent. I dont want to seed all my other plants accidentally.

Sherbert x Sour D will have some winning phenos in the F1's for sure... I'd definitely be interested in being part of that initial hunt... Don't know about sticking with it all the way through IBL, though... ADHD

Yeah, I think I mentioned before the sourD heritage is in question a little bit because of a big "mistake" from a grower/hobby breeder friend in VT. There's a ridiculous grow diary on that one haha...The sunset is legit came from insaneseeds.com in the breeders packs. I think we should hold back with the sourD claim until we grow some plants out but we could never know really. That may be just be the wild card that makes it more fun too. I grew 4 of the males as if they were females for 8 weeks until I realized my gigantic mistake.

Yes. Basically F is filial if I am not mistaken and so it's like, the parents into F1 and then inbreeding from there.

Update on the mother hunt:

Finishing up week 4 of flowering with good progress. Pulled out all the plants to inspect and take some pics to see what we're working with.

So still a long ways to go but all healthy. Aside from the structure differences #5 has much less of a lime smell, earthy but still sweet. #4 was the slowest to clone and grow. She also has a much tighter, straight up style of growth. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing...probably perfect for sog.

Any thoughts or observations from the group would be greatly appreciated! ❤❤

I’m loving 2 and 4. Not true. I like 5, too. I don’t have enough experience to know what would or would not be better at this point. But they all look great.

Cool! 2 and 1 are my favs so far. 4 and 1 are really close but 4 took like 4 days longer to clone and has been the runt the whole time. But all other things being equal 2 seems like just an all around better plant. I think at this point I'm pretty much selecting against the bad traits.

I will probably just seed the clones from all four anyway just because lol.

My question for the group is this? Is there a safe window at the end of flowering to seed one tent while avoiding accidentally pollinating the other? Or if there is cross pollinating event, is a week or 2 enough to ruin a crop?

Pretty much what my response was gonna be ... I'm so glad there are some newer folks like myself I've learned so much so far
