they want to decriminalize but have to add a 5% extra tax on sales to help people with drug problems. the repubs will protect big pharma to the end though. Hopefully something happens like with tobacco where the plant is distinguished from the product...

Hopefully something happens like with tobacco where the plant is distinguished from the product. I.e. unprocessed tobacco leaves are free of tax, but, once you shred them, they become a tobacco product.
Pipe-dreaming... but, once it gets to the point of being massively produced... never know. In the meantime, it will, undoubtedly, negatively impact the small producers. And, I mean... retail is what it is.
