This is the start of my second attempt growing autos to provide my own meds. I killed the last run by over watering all three seedlings on day 7 😣. Sticking with one plant and minimal amendments until I can prove to myself that I'm not going to kill more of them, and dial in a process I can scale at some point. I'm definitely leery of watering too much now, so my main goal with this diary is to just figure out an appropriate watering amount/schedule for my environment. Not setting any other goals other than completing the run and hopefully having something to dry and cure in a few months.

Good to know! I was hoping to not educate myself at more than a basic level on VPD, but that's a good point. I tried setting the humidifier outside the tent near the intake screen but it left a ton of water on the screen and I figured that was no bueno either. I'll pull the humidifier out, thanks for the info 👊

I haven't tried to dig very deep into it myself, I don't tweak my humidity much during my grow. Maybe when have more experience, but so far I just try to keep things around 70-80F and 55-65% humidity.

You barely have enough room for the plant, You need to get all that equipment out of the tent and move it to the top.
Somebody will tell you that it doesn't work well that way. That's ridiculous. Move the stuff before you need the room.
The only thing in there with the plants should be the fans and light.

I know everyone says to start the autos in the same pot they'll finish in but I never have.

I take a solo cup and put 1/2 inch of rocks in the bottom. Take another solo cup poke holes in the bottom. Fill the one with holes 3/4 coco 1/4 worm casting. Set it into the cup with rocks.

Put 1/4 inch hole in the center of the soil, drop the seed it it. Sprinkle soil over the top. Watter over the seed 2oz of watter. Place quart size ziplock baggie over the cups.
Keep at 75F. Keep lights on lowest setting and high up.

At the end of the week or as soon as you see no moisture on the bag 2 more oz of watter. Pull bags as soon as thesend leaves start. If the hull are sticking to the leaves and won't fall off, spray the top with a spray bottle you may need to physically remove them with 2 pairs of tweezers.

Watter 1-2 oz of watter as close to the center every 3-6 days as needed. After second set of leaves show. Drop your lights to 24 inches and give them around 5000 lux.
If they start getting lengthy, increase you light intensity.
If they are not getting enough light they will stretch to the point they will fall over trying to get enough light.

Once you see the first root come out the bottom of the solo transplant into final home.

Usually by the end of the second week all mine are in there final home. By the 3rd week after they sprout the tops are tied down. By the 4th week the side brannches are tied down even with the top. By the 5th week there all even going into or already in preflower. 2nd week of flower I raise my light to 36 inches for 3 days and let them stretch. Then drop to 24 inches around 35000 lux. 8TH BUMP TO 40000 LUX 9TH WEEK BUMP TO 45000 LUX AND DROP LIGHTS TO 18 INCHES. 10TH WEEK 50000 LUX AND 15 INCHES FROM PLANT AND WATCH FOR LIGHT BLEACHING. If no light bleaching let it ride.

If your light intensity is high with your humidity dome on, you'll toast your baby's. If you don't have wet soil or drainage for excess youl have a low percentage of succes on your seeds. The rocks in the bottom of the first solo cup is to allow for drainage and air. The excess water in the bottom cup will condensate in the bag to keep the environment moist. In the pick below i had to pull my light up high as soon as the sprout. I used the light for heat to germinate.

The humidifier is out. Besides fans/light, the small ceramic heater is the only thing in the tent. I don't imagine she will be too large for the tent dimensions. Thanks for the watering links also!

Hey man, nice looking setup. I look forward to following your grow and watching you not kill something. As it happens my bar is also set that low, heh. 😄

Your avatar cracks me up in relation to your grow story, btw.

Day 3:

RH in the low 50s temp steady at 74. Dirt looks super dry, gave her a 1/2 oz of water. Should be seeing the sprout in a couple days if this starts the same as the last attempt.
