DSCN0157

DSCN0163

DSCN0165

i also harvested my first motor punch. she is drying now...

DSCN0177

i still have the hibernate just about ready for chop...

DSCN0167

and the purple alien is also ready for a chop i was hoping she would bulk up a little first but it looks like she will be a small haul, hoping she is some serious fire for the size. we'll find out in a week or so!

purple alien...

DSCN0170

DSCN0169

including a bleached tip...

DSCN0172

veg is till growing well and three of these will be moved into flowering over the next week or so... one will probably be the new unsexed texas bluebonnet!!!

DSCN0173

i also have a bunch of clones that could really use some soil....

DSCN0174

other than that same ol same ol...

oh i had to replace my little eva dry dehumidifier in my drying closet. i might be able to fix the old one, i think the motor is going bad. the controller sensor got gummed up over time and was reading 75%rh so the evadry was running non stop and causing the motor to seize up and just the heat part worked so i didn't want to jeopardize any of these new harvests at all so i bought a new one and cleaned the rh sensor so it works correctly again and holds it right at 60%. its already dirty and i just got it!!! hahaha

Still land locked here as far as I know right now, I couldnā€™t get west of here if I wanted to ( as least by pavement roads that I know of ) it didnā€™t finally stop raining and the wind has backed off as well. It gets like this up here a bunch every damn year, this time it just kicked it up a bit.
So whatcha you guys cookin for T Day???

Man that bud looks great!!! Hopefully Itā€™ll treat you well!!
Iā€™m gonna do a smoked bird, and do a Garlic butter and herb injection.
Iā€™ve watched enough videos on all kinds of turkey cooking I can almost close my one good eye and see turkeys!!
Iā€™m gonna do a wet brine and let it roll, other than that the wife will be in charge of the other stuff, pie, mashed potatoes stuff lik that, I will probably go out hunting again for a bit that day, I gotta get these ladies there bacon wrappers. Other than that itā€™s just another weather event in the Great PNW. Saw snow for the first time this year this morning, sitting here at 36, how knows what will happen tonight. Anyway

Plants look awesome bro. Popped in to see what ya had goin on. I dig it. Just won my war with the little bastard pests myself, neem kicked em in the teeth.

Side note, we just made stuffed peppers and they were fucking spectacularšŸ˜‚ and being that my body consists of like 40% red sauce, that spaghetti stuffed pepper may be our next try.

Side side note, take this from a pollack whos gram was straight off the boat, its actually ped-o-gi when you hear an actual polish person say it lol. Just a heads up so you can get all boujie when someone uses the "R" sound šŸ˜‚ those little bundles of fluffy potato and cheese are like heaven exploded in your mouth especially when homemade. šŸ¦…

i gotta say man, I've smoked a few turkeys before (and not just with my featherlight 12 guage.) šŸ¤£ but no, seriously the injection and the brine are the two biggest game changers you can do. pulling the skin off and smoking it naked is the third. technically it's not really smoking when it comes to a turkey because the heat is so high it's basically baking it with smoke. that's where the hydrating and injection comes in to keep it from drying out... but i'm sure you already know that. but hey if you haven't bought an injector yet i recommend the beast injector. i've had mine for over ten years now and never a problem.

sooooo let me paint a picture here... you're gonna get up early on thursday, put your bird in the smoker, pull out your phone and start it via bluetooth or wifi, while at the same time getting dressed for huntin all day, come home in the afternoon put your turkey on a platter bring it in the house like a hero,,,, all while the entire day your wife works her ass off on the entire rest of the feast!!!! hahahahaha

wtf?!?!?! you better come home with some game meat, if not stop for flowers on the way!!!!!! hehehe

in all seriousness though man, have a happy thanksgiving and i hope your bird turn out delicious bro!!

ahhh those leaf eating bastards! way to kill em all!!!

well all i have to say about the pedogi thing is never argue with a grandma!!!!!! but on the flip side if i go to any pizza or steak shop anywhere around here and ask for an order of ped-o-gi they would think i had a speech impediment!!!! hahahaha so not saying your Gram is wrong in any way, it's just here in PA dutch area we call em Rogi's with the hard R. and yes, the term rogi is also acceptable when ordering but when speaking outside a restaurant pierogi is always used.

damn, now i'm hungry for some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the kind words!!!!

enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Rasta Plant Live Up!!šŸ”„

What's this Winter thing Y'all are going on about? Been mid 70s and clear blue skies around these parts. There was a cold weekend a couple weeks back that called for thisšŸ˜‹

IMG 3309

Oh yeaaaaahhhh! Chicken fried Wagyu, mashed taters with truffle salt and Mexican sour cream, and cut green beans cooked in pumpkin spice bacon grease šŸ˜‹

Speaking of pumpkin spice, yeah I agree there's too much. The bacon is good but when I saw this I thought okay, somebody needs their ass kicked

IMG 0008

And it doesn't stop at pumpkin spice. We're seeing a lot of Mexican Hot Chocolate things around here. Good in cookies but when I saw this, like a stinky fart you smell it just to see how stinky it is, I got these just to see how disgusting they could be. They did not disappoint. Very disgusting and in the running for worst tasting chip to ever make it into my mouth

IMG 3312

But yeah as far as weather goes, around here it's been BBQ weather šŸ¤

IMG 3336

Buds are looking fine and tasty Brother! And that shatter!!! šŸ˜²
DJ that bird is looking great too! We didn't do a typical Thanksgiving here due to work. Thought we might so I included some MC bird brine in my last order but haven't had a chance to use it yet. There's a duck out in my deep freeze though so maybe I'll get around to smoking it

IMG 3306

And if y'all are looking for an awesome chili seasoning blend, MC has one that's totally legit!šŸ¤‘

Anyways hope y'all are staying warm and dry as I type this almost naked except for flip flops with all my house windows open šŸ¤Ŗ Take it ez and have a great weekend!

gettin pretty cold here.. 20's at night, low 40's in the day. i beefed up my porch roof yesterday because it's been sagging pretty bad the past few snow storms.. so now i'm ready for snow i guess... kind of anyway.

all that food looks killer though man!!!! what is on the shelf of your grill in that pick? some kind of wrapped pork or something??

well all looks killer but for those chips man.... ewwww i couldn't.. i don't like any flavored chips at all... i like em plain and wavy!!!!! and the kettle cooked are pretty good.. sometimes with a little jalapeno but thats the most flavoring i handle.

we went out to a fancy greek restaurant a couple day s ago, man was that good!! and no dishes to do afterward!!! we had a bunch of apps and i had lamb chops for an entre and my woman had swordfish. it was a great meal!!!

.
.

i hope your back is feeling better man. i just saw my chiropractor a few hours ago so i'm feeling like a big lump of jello right now!!!!

.

oh and good news, the first texas bluebonnet is a girl!!!!!! she's driving fast right now... showed her girly parts in less than a week!!!

DSCN0187

i put a second one in earlier today so i'm hoping that one is a female as well. all three that i started all look very similar.

.

so after reading your thread i decided to give the squish bags a try as apposed to the pre press naked pucks. i only have cheesy bags for now but i gave it a try anyway... the first one i tried was three grams at 175* for three minutes. and i used the gentle squish technique in that video you posted from nug smasher. it didn't yield hardly anything, so i went to the dark side and turned it up to 250* it squirted out good then and also added just a little more pressure. too much i believe, it blew the top apart on the bag.

so after i got wrecked testing it all out on the epro g9 i decided to try again... this time with 5 grams at 215* and again with light pressure. the bag didn't split but it rolled over on me when pressing... it turned out much better, not close to how your looked but maybe it's my larger holes (i have 120 micron) and my trics could be more amber than yours too.... oh hell i'm just making excuses now i guess... but yeah, good enough for me to want to try more....

DSCN0184

DSCN0185

DSCN0186

so i ordered some of the NS bags 90 micron so we'll give it a go again tomorrow night and see how it works!!!

and one other thing i really need to do now is install the pressure gauge i bought for my press years ago and never put it on.. my hydraulics has a port on it made for a gauge so it would just be some tape and a fitting to make it happen... i wanna rig a micro led with it so i can see it in low light. but it would be helpful if i had an actual number to press by doesn't matter if it's accurate or not, just to have a number once i find the sweet spot.

DSCN0192

the bags seemed pricy to me years ago and it's why i never used them... not sure if they came down in price or my values have changed on it... i mean it's not like the pre presses are cheap in any way. and considering i paid and average of $65 for a gram from the weed store i guess $1 a bag is nothing at all.... so i bought two dozen bags...

71JjZKmomqS AC SL1500

i could never fit five grams in my pre press without it blowing out into the rosin... i'm liking the first two tries, can't wait to try with the new bags.

.
.
btw... i got sandals on too... windows closed tight and the heat is on!!!!!!!! hahahaha

That TxB is gonna put on a show Brother. Skyscraper colas coming your way soon!šŸ¤‘

The pressure gauge will help so much Man. I wish I could put one on my press. I've gone so hard on mine I haven't just blown bags but I've blown out the paper too on some runs. Unbelievable how much pressure can be applied and I never realized too much pressure could even be a thing.šŸ¤Ŗ

Those are some great looking squish hauls there too. Glad you like that G9 so much! I've been using that carb cap you sent on my Rok. Nice! I also ordered a bubbler extension for my BarbFire and hoping it arrives todayšŸ˜‡

I've been testing a lot of different bags and have kinda found my ideal size/quality/price. No doubt IMO Nugsmasher bags are the best we can buy. On the flip side, BVV is the worst. But NS are so dang spendy. I have a half pouch left of NS bags but doubt I'll restock after finding some from PressClub on 'Zon. I got 50 2.5"x4.5" for $36. Those will hold around 7-8grams but I'm gonna cut them down a little to 4" tall so they'll be about 5-7 gram load size. They're comparable quality to NS. I bought the 160mic since these buds I'm squishing are on the fresh side with tight controlled temps and humidity but I may also get some 220mic for bigger yields. Unless the weed is super dry and crumbly I don't see any reason to ever use bags lower than 120mic

I also have a good collection of of 2"x3" of similar quality. They're a little too narrow for me to have as my go-to so I'm gonna include a lot of that pack in what I send you next week. These bags are also flipped inside out like NS so the seam is inside and the bottom corners are ez to push in to get a good bottle tech. Those corners pushed in will also help keep it upright and squish down like an accordion and help prevent a blowout by evenly distributing pressure.
They say these bags are reusable but I don't really see how. It would be some work getting the material out and cleaning them up like new. Would take a lot of alcohol so I'm not sure if the value of time, effort, and cost of alcohol is really worth it
It sounds like you had a few runs like mine when I decided to drop temps and use bags but are finding that wheelhouse range for a good pull. Bags are way different than using the prepress. I've tried to use naked pucks with this press but I don't get much and the puck just goes flat and expands to the size of my plates. IDK if it's because my plates are square now compared to my old rectangle plates but it's weird how the rectangle was great naked and sucked with bags while the square plates are opposite for me. And yeah those temps. Depends on my press but it's weird how this one does so well below 180 but my other presses had to squish at 210 or higher.
Another thing with bags is how we fill them. I find that full with all voids filled in but not packed hard works best. Too little in there and the rosin stays in the bag and too much it can blow. There's a sweet spot in between there of being full but not packed

I'm gonna squish a few more out today doing some minor adjustments. Yeah hoping my back holds up too. It sucks and I don't have a chiropactor but the TENS is zapping the fuck outta it and I'll sit in my sauna for half and hour to soften up and kinda pop it back in like an chiropractor adjustmentšŸ„“

BTW I've been meaning to tell you...those little orange towels...My wife says thanks! She uses them all the time around the house!šŸ˜‹

Okay, I just put my second pet down in a month. And Iā€™m not dealing with it well, so Iā€™m probably gonna drop off for a bit.
you guys are killing it though

so sorry to hear my brother. it's no secret that our furry and feathered friends pull on our heart strings and become a big part of our life. thoughts go out to your family.

Oh Man that sucks DJ. Went thru it in 2013 so I know that heart break well. Take a knee buddy and in time you'll be ready to fill your home and heart with a new 4 legged bestie āœŒļø

Those corners pushed in will also help keep it upright and squish down like an accordion and help prevent a blowout by evenly distributing pressure.

yeah man, there's not a day that goes by without using the G9... i even bought replacement quartz bowls so i can throw a clean one in and be back in action in a couple minutes!!

one thing i notice about my squish, the melt temp is much lower that other concentrates. like by 80* or more!!!

and man that is so cool you mention that brand bag. after getting the NS brand i saw the press club ones... i even put a pack in my cart but they were out of stock so i figured i would wait to try them. then i read your advice on the micron size and i agree a lot with that, my buds are very rarely dry. mostly fresh when squishing and very sticky. and seeing that it is a family run business and a blowout guarantee and all that it was kind of a no brainer for me.. so i opted for the 160micron just like you got. so with a first time coupon i got them delivered tomorrow for $0.90 a bag. this new tech is very intriguing to me the lower pressure makes me feel like am i now extending the life of my press. cuz just like you i would give her all she's got right up to breaking point. even would put four jack handles on the thing to get three foot of leverage on the bottle!! now with this low and slow pressure i feel like my press is way overkill. so i'm now hoping it lasts me for many years to come.

i'm gonna work on finding a way to reclaim the chips out of the bags though. i always use my prepress naked chips as my edibles. like you say the bags would take too much to clean the bags enough to be efficient for pressing but i would love to at least collect the chips. what blows me away is how torn up i get from those chips after i press the good stuff out.

i'm stoked to press my latest harvest... Hibernate

i haven't been this excited to try a strain in a long time, not sure exactly why, but i am very happy the time is finally here!!! i bought the pack of seeds way back... i struggled with them right up to the last seed of the pack. they were either males or i killed them along the way but this very last seed gave me a female along with a clone to keep her going.

.

glad to hear your wife is getting good use from the towels. wash em with cold water and very mild detergent, and never dry with heat. i always just let them air dry and don't even use my dryer. too much lint in the dryer and that clogs the fibers in the cloth and makes them not work as well. i also use a little vinegar when washing them but that because of the waxes and polish embedded in.

this guy has given me many great tips on cleaning...

thanks again for the tips on the press bags, you've given new life to my pressing game for sure!!

Man that looks dank!
Hows it going with the reclaim project?
Been cooking anything good lately?
I was reading some stuff about outdoor griddling a few weeks ago and became hooked. Thought about ordering a griddle but checked craigslist and found one NIB for $100 less than retail so I bought it. Game changer bro. Game changer!

I got the Blackstone 22" portable with folding legs but I got a hose adapter to use a big propane tank instead of the small camping bottles. It is a little high maintenance and needs to be seasoned four times over before the first use and reseasoned after every use to keep it from rusting but wow man it's so worth it. Like cooking with huge cast iron skillet that drains it's own grease and you know how much I love working with cast iron when I cook!

First thing I made on it was smash burgers. Doubt I'll do burgers any other way now

IMG 3394

Next meal was steak and chicken fajitas

And since a good griddle is the go to choice for steak sandwiches I decided to place an order from your part of the world and do it up right

Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
Man we have a light freeze here for 18 hours and people freaked out like we got snow like that. They started to panic shop too. For some reason toaster waffles seem to be sold out along with Pillsbury biscuits, and milk. I understand the run on milk but people eat some weird shit when they think they're gonna be snowbound around here hahaha!

Ah man you got the right stuff there!!!!!!! those are my favorite rolls, we got em in our local store. that chip steak looks perfect too!!!!! all ya need is some marinara sauce and your favorite cheese... i prefer a sharp white american. a cooper sharp or a clearfield.. not sure if you have those there or if they're local. some like provolone, some cheese wiz, some mozzarella. i also like fried onions in mine and what we call california style, that's sauce and cheese topped with lettuce, tomato, and onion with a spread of mayo on the roll.

the real foundation is the steak and roll... all the sauces and cheeses and condiments are unlimited as your own taste.. topped with pickles is also very popular here. some also like making garlic bread with the roll then loading it with the chipsteak. there's a place on south st in philly that are the masters of that one.

bro i could go on and on for hours with cheesesteak topping and styles around here. but it's all in the roll... and absolutely not stringy with fat, that is the biggest turn off on a steak sandwich. the meat should be well done but still juicy and chopped well. mixing the sauce in at the end is best then lay the cheese right on top. keep the meat in a shape of the roll just before doing this. then lay the roll right on top of the cheese and use your spatula to flip it all over in one motion leaving the saucy meat on top and the cheese gluing the bottom of the roll together. make sure you cook it long enough so it's not runny!!

can't wait to see what you think man!!!!

Man that's some sexy dank!

My first run with the cheesesteak was "wit wiz" with onions and sweet hot peppers. I also quickly realized there really is no wrong way to cheesesteak šŸ˜‹
The next creation I do might be with sweet hot pepper spread and ketchup. Also wanna do a Texas style using jalapenos and queso. There's a place here called Texadelphia who's mastered that sandwich.
Hopefully by the time the super bowl comes around I'll feel up to gettin' down on my griddle again. I'm so ready to eat something bad instead of all this health foodšŸ¤£

This guy on youtube has been my inspiration to get that authentic philly cheesesteak down

Listen to you with the pats/ginos lingo!!!!!! just a wit wiz w/peppers though just to keep ya on point. the "wit" refers to with onions. the wiz being the cheese of coarse. if you ask me though that wiz is gross... i like real cheese! a traditional cheesesteak is marinara sauce( the bold stuff, not that pussy sweet sugar sauce either) and chopped onions (not the big stringy kind, you want each bite to taste the same) and white american cheese. a pickle and choice of peppers are acceptable in new testament anyway.

everything else and all the other combos to me personally is a just a steak sandwich! hahaha i'm being very picky of coarse. but yeah man your right there really is no way to go wrong as long as you like the flavors!!! the only two no no's i have are no stringy fat in the sandwich, you gotta cook and render any fat down so it melts in your mouth when you bite it. you shouldn't have to chew a cheesesteak very much.. and the other no no is make sure it's not runny... it should never saturate the bottom of the bun and make it soggy.... other than those two turn off's i am full in!!!! jalapenos are by far my favorite pepper for steak sandwiches!!! i also like extra sauce with mozzarella cheese and baked in the oven for a few minutes... we call em pizza steaks around here.
