So my plants always have been having a dark complexion with their leafs. Along with some other discoloration, which you will find in my post history.

I started adding calmag because of the yellowing and burning of the edges, but this included some Nitrogen. Where the dark leafs would say that I have to much N already. I have been working with the GHE tripart Flora series. First at 1:1:1. The last 2 solutions were at the recommend 1:2:3.

So the last waterchange I didn't add any calmag, beside of what's in the tripart. Because the yellowing/burning didn't improve with calmag, I thought that wasn't it, and layed off the calmag.

This water change was 3 days ago. Now I see that the burning gets worse, and spreads more up the plant! But more importantly, my EC is rising! Before, I increased my EC and noticed that the sweetspot was 1.1 last week. And my new solution was only 1.0 when I changed the water. After 3 days, it increased to 1.1, which shouldn't be happening.

My pH has been getting more stable, instead of rising. Which should tell me that they aren't taking up nutrients, like they normally do(?)

Should I flush them with pH balanced RO water for 2 days? Or Add calmag now?

Edit: oh yeah, last waterchange I also added pro-bloom. And I'm currently in week 4 of flower. Growth seems not to have slown down.

Keep it simple just use water any were from 4-7days before harvest - don't worry about plant issues because it will take a few weeks for the plant to respond to your additivites - then it will be too late you would have harvested already - Peace --- just remember once you see a plant issue you are all ready 2 weeks behind in fixing it !

The EC went from 1.0 to 1.1 and then even 1.2 in 3 days. I'm afraid that I have to flush. Also the person above, is giving advice for soil, i think?

I'm filling the tank with RO water. I will let it settle and flush the plants for 2 days with nothing but Flashclean and RO water. A couple of solutions ago, they eated very well. EC went from 0.9 to 0.6 a couple of weeks ago. I really hope a flush wouldn't hurt the production of buds..

so i don't see any chat history and that's because you created a new post instead of going back to the old post that had all the conversations.
This is why its a good idea to create a diary and keep filling it so members can follow.

Next grow will have a diary. I made a new post because I wanted to get some traction.

You have experience with hydroponics. How long do you flush when having a lock out? And does is decrease my harvest? I'm in week 4 of flower atm.

i don't want to say im experienced but i know a thing or two. I've grown in soil, dwc and learning rockwool
What are you growing in and what nutrients area you using. do you have any pictures of the trichomes?

I will take some pics when the lights come on in 5h.

I use GHE flora series tri-part nutrients. Normally I also added calmag 2.0 and hydroguard. But I left the calmag out, to see if the burned tips would improve or increase. I'm waiting for the hydroguard to be delivered this week. I have a chiller so I'm not really worried about microbe growth for a couple of days.

They're 16 pots of 19L. growrilla RDWC,

Last 2 water changes I gave 1:2:3. So without the calmag that would have been 140ml of grow, 280ml of micro and a little over 420ml of bloom in a mix of 230L of RO water and 30L of tap water. My tapwater is 0.8EC. The last waterchange was at 1.0EC when it started. I pumped it out when it was 1.2EC and putted the solution of the tank in the system of again 1.0 while the tank is now filling up with RO water to start flushing tomorrow. The last and now current also had pro-bloom in it at half the recommend dose (first additive beside hydroguard that I used)

Good Evening FroSty;

I personally choose not to flush prior to harvest. Mainly because I try find a balance between a hot tank (too many nutes) and large buds, by keeping my ppm below 1000 (or as close as possible). With my approach, i gain in flavor and general quality, what i give up in size. IMHO 🍻

Last year I was having the same problems you are having now. I worked with @logic & @Aqua Man along with a couple of other members to really fine tune and scale my nutes (i'm still working on it really). My biggest adjustments were the addition of a T-5 and a new CalMag mix (2 mixes actually) that were 2.5:1 (and higher) and one of them contained a buffer. Most importantly a full dose only raises your ppm of RO to around 265-300 with ZERO Nitrogen. I now put the S*it in all my water (for the plants that is.... including top-off).

Lets start with your CalMag & PH. What brand is your CalMag? and do you know the ratio of Ca to Mag? (should be at least 2:1) Logic and I discovered that the majority of CalMag is way, way too weak.

How often do you add nutes and in what quantities? The reason for asking this close to harvest is to try and determine IF you need to flush. If you have been running "hot" for the entire grow, I would suggest you continue adding just RO as your top-off until you decide to harvest. This will lead to my next question.

what are you using to buffer your RO water against drastic PH swings?

and last; why are you adding tap water to your RO water? (more curious than anything important).

Happy Growing 🍻🍻

Why do you think that I"m close to harvest? Person above also asked for a photo of the terpenes. I'm in week 4 of flower. 4-5 more weeks to go.

This isn't my final flush. This purely is because I believe I'm having a lockout. (EC rose 0.3 in 3 days). Almost all answers are giving me the impression that people think that I'm talking about a final flush before harvest.

Now to answer your questions:

Calmag is Bac Calmag 2.0. It says it has 6% N, 5% Cal and 12% Mag. I literally just ordered a big bottle of the stuff. So it looks like I will be stuck with this ratio for a while...

I use GH Flora 3part. I used to use it at the 1:1:1 ratio like Aquaman had recommended me. But because I had dark leafs and the burned edges/tips, I decreased the grow part and added the calmag. The last 2 water changes I gave the GH recommended ratio of 1:2:3 for when in flower. Again, because it would mean less N. The last water change there was no calmag added.

I have a water tank that feeds my RDWC with a floater. So I don't really "add" nutrients to the RDWC. I shut the floater off. Add water to the tank and add nutes and adjust the pH. If the pH is to high in the RDWC, I will lower the pH in the tank, which feeds the RDWC slowly, so I cancel out pH swings. The same with the EC. The EC is normally 0.1 higher in the tank. I will shut the floater off some days. Then the water level declines and I can test if the EC is decreasing accordingly.

And now I'll answer 2 questions: I use tap water as a buffer for pH swings. Again, Aquaman told me this. I'm afraid that silica will damage my water chiller

1.1 is already a pretty damn low ec for mid flower. How much light is on them?
I dont worry about ph rise too much in rockwool, infact I expect it in flower.

Also, DO NOT GIVE THEM PLAIN RO WITH FLORAKLEEN FOR 2 DAYS. That is just asking for disaster in hydro.

Then how do I flush them out off lockout?! You tell me something not to do without an explanation of why, nor giving me an alternative?

Oke. So I'm going to flush them tomorrow after work. I gave them new water yesterday and the EC went from 1.0 to 1.3 in 24h. They only drank something like 15L instead of the usual 25-30L. So I'm definitely having a lockout.

A lot of people want to help me but apparently don't read my post. I've had to type out some things multiple times. All while nobody answered the question "to flush or not to flush?". Which is what this whole post is about, so I'm just going to flush them...

in hydroponic there is no flushing, this ain't no soil.
I don't know GH products so i can't really give any advice on what's what. also, your plant looks good and healthy., Not sure why you think its on lockout?

this is a chart i use to stabilize my rez.

Jesus you're salty. I'm not sure why anyone would want to help you at this point. Figure it out yourself.
He asks me why I think I'm having a lockout, RIGHT UNDER a comment where I explain that my EC increases 0.3 in 24H and my plants aren't drinking. You guys are just fucking with me, right?

The same with your: "Your plan is gonna fuck it up" and then just leaving, no answer why? No reason why? Just, "You're gonna fuck it up. BYE!" Like. This is to fuck with me, right? You didn't help me. Didn't gave me any information. You just told me I was wrong and left...

Why?

Are you talking about just the very tips? I read your posts but I don’t see any symptoms looking at your leaves. is it very dry in the grow room?
