Mix a solution consisting of equal parts 4M Potassium Chloride (KCl) and pH 4 buffer solution. KCl is a common salt which may be obtained from most chemical suppliers. You may store the pH electrode indefinitely in this solution, but for long term storage, we recommend storing the electrode dry

Pretty much dissolve as much kcl as possible into the pH 4 buffer or even just distilled water if your on the budget program.

You should get some of this. Keep the cup full, doesn't really even need the sponge. But that glass bulb needs to be kept wet with a very salty solution.View attachment 1208027

The kit i bought it came with KCI storage and another two gel bottles that you wash the probes with. i was just surprised there was no sponge in the cap.
