Oh wait.... itā€™d only be one grow per year. Maybe thatā€™s the downside, which really isnā€™t if itā€™s just for yourself.
I only did 4 green house grows. They are difficult because everyone thinks Oh green house cool. Well they create there own environment. Meaning 100 degrees on a sunny day in spring no problem. You almost have to run them like a tent and there are alot of other issues. The humidity can become a problem, sometimes the plants can get too much light. I ended up buying a product called alumishade to use at peak DLI times because the plants were having trouble with so much sunny. First time I ran a greenhouse it was OCT to JAN. and I got a few. Next one was like March to July, nice run. Next was July to like October and that one sucked, it just got too hot in the green house even with other 1 air change a minute. The last one was the best quality wise but it suffered in yield, it came out like indoor. But after about 16 months of taking tarps on and off every single day I had enough and tore it down. Green houses are not at easy as you thing

Hahaha thatā€™s great. Oops! Well at least you solved the mystery lol
It's all good. Its part of her learning process. She's been disabled and out of work for about a year now. She wanted to learn so that she has something else at home to keep her busy. She's done exceptionally well until recently when I let her make more judgement calls on what the plant needs were.

Regardless

There's no shortage of buds in this house. We have the time she needs to learn her new hobby. Losing a few ounces over 10 plants to inexperience is no big deal.

I'll second that ... I have one. Different part of the country. There's a lot to juggle... a whole slew of issues with no easy answers for an average homeowner's budget. I use my greenhouse now for garden starts and storage.

Jacks is good. I've not used it personally but people I know have. It's not expensive and it gives good results.

Actually, there are many that are good. I've used botanicare in previous grows. They have both an organic line and a "salts" line. I've used their organic. Inexpensive when compared to many of the others. Easy to use, and my buds had great flavor. I'm currently using Roots Organic Terp Teas and I'm loving the results so far. Botanicare is a 2 part, grow and bloom, but has other things like cal mag, and sweeteners, etc in other bottles. You don't need to buy every product in their line to have a successful grow. Roots Organics terp teas are dry amendments. They can be brewed as a tea or top dressed/mixed into the soil. Next grow, I'll top dress only and see how that goes.
The Terp Tea line is really good and Iā€™ve been only top dressing with it. Some bloom at the beginning of flower and the pk bloom boost mid flower and have been getting great results.

I donā€™t think they are easy, quite the opposite actually...but I think thereā€™s huge potential with the right setup..but not many could afford a setup for ideal perfection. Now, if only NASA could hook us up with some of their gadgets...then weā€™d be all set haha.

Yeah thatā€™s great. Itā€™s a fun thing to do and can be therapeutic. Itā€™s also really cool just watching how they grow and what they do. Almost like they develop little plant personalities lol. I love it.

Iā€™ll need to learn more about dry amendments, top dressing and everything. Especially for coco. I would
Ike to stick with coco just because I like how it works, but then again watering once or twice a day will get old after a while when I have other things going on. So yeah maybe I should move to soil for the convenience. Decisions decisions.

I like the idea of instant uptake of whatever you give it, grows faster too. Also I think soil would attract pests.
Some might say I've been lucky but I have yet to attract pests in my indoor gardens. Soils purchased at big box retailers are by and large the biggest culprit in soil borne pests. The cheap stuff isn't pasteurized where soils along the line of FFOF and Lush are. If you spray an insecticide barrier around the outside of your tent, you won't have issues with insects moving in either.

As you have already seen on this message board, there are many opinions on what grow media is best to use. In my eyes, soil is best for the beginner but that's only my opinion and others are welcome to theirs since what you decide boils down to choice. All will work. All have pros and cons associated with it. So pick one and stick to it for a few grows before experimenting with others. Soil grows are cheap. Hydro grows are great but unfortunately much more costly getting started. Coco is somewhere in the middle as its more of a hybrid that shares some properties of soil with many properties of hydro. Again, only my opinion, others have their own and none are wrong. Just pick one and run with it for a while to gain growing experience before you switch it up and try another.

PUDC...Its always hard to tell if what looks cloudy is just a light trick. Mostly clear, maybe all clear with reflections making some look cloudy. Maybe a week more? Maybe even 2? We shall see.

Looks sorta bronze

That is pretty much a bummer. That knucklehead @Jakecan sold you on the Mantis nutrient line and there are clear indicators in these pictures the plant is lacking some nutrients. What a bummer for paying so much for a nutrient product.
I wonder how they get the Calcium Nitrate and Magnesium Sulfate to play nice together is a liquid 1 part nutrient line.

Apparently they don't.

Here's a chart I found on the internet. Original source can be found here: https://www.smart-fertilizer.com/articles/fertilizer-solubility/

It's great as a reference if you have questions about different fertilizer chemicals playing well together.

Guess I sorta took one for the team. Welp, now we know. But if this product DID work it wouldā€™ve been all I would use. I bet they were counting on tap water providing those elements and just left one out.

Still praying that I make it to harvest. Because if I do, these are going to be the best quality buds Iā€™ve had in a long time.

*RECAP*

Just wanted to throw up a recap summary of my Journal up until this point.

Started with 5 seeds. 3 Pineapple Upside Down Cake, 1 Lemongrass (both from Humboldt Seed Company) and 1 seed I found in a bag of Sour Power....an incredible strain and deliciously fuel smell and taste...nothing sweet. Closest thing to sour diesel Iā€™ve had in a long time. PUDC and LG were just used to fill space. Sour Power is what Iā€™m after at this point. All seeds popped!

And into solo cups they went. 70% Coco / 30% Clay balls (big mistake..read on)

They all sprouted up pretty quick except for one that stayed underground. Seemed to be a dud. When it germinated the tail was tiny and a little darker than the rest. But I kept spraying it with water just in case. The ...I think Lemongrass.... sprouted pretty neat wearing a helmet. Looked like Pac-Man eating my seedling.

Eventually the one that didnā€™t sprout, finally poked out. I was surprised. From now on Iā€™ll refer to it as the runt.
6D79B609 F1BD 4BD6 87AA D64B3935FC5F

From here it was just keeping them humid, lightly moist and getting plenty of light at 18/6 on very low power.
6123F481 3466 42D4 AE89 A5C472E69261

Rinse and repeat, they grew bigger. I decided to transplant maybe earlier than some would. But I felt it was the right time...and probably everyone here told me to anyway lol. I decided to switch to perlite and coco. I had a gut feeling. Those clay balls seemed better used for something else, like straight hydro or something. So I did 70% Coco / 30% Perlite and transplanted to 3 gallon fabric smart pots.

Except for the runt. That went into a ā€œ1 gallonā€ (more like 1 liter) generic fabric pot. I have to say...this pot sucked. Thick as hell, bad lopsided stitching, huge clumps of seemed fabric inside. Never stood up straight either. But it was suitable for the red headed stepchild...the runt.
AE9AA563 8C0E 49B2 A4F5 1361181EFE68

Now back to the clay balls... These things made it a nightmare to transplant. They just rolled off the top when flipping the cup and they also really helped the medium to fall apart, even while moist. One was too dry and splattered into the hole. Fun lol.

From this point forward...for a while..I was watering with a pump sprayer. Nice and slow and even to get roots developing nicely and prevent dry spots or flooding.

They got bigger but stayed light pale green, and like neon. Started to show signs of deficiencies (donā€™t use the nutrient I was using, itā€™s a scam and I got suckered by a spy) but nonetheless I did my best to keep them going.

Sour Power was the healthiest and fastest growing out of them all. Ended up being a dude :(
So I took it out back and shot it. Then made tea from itā€˜s remains.

Looks nice but tasted nasty. Maybe the pineapple wouldā€™ve tasted better.

After a couple days I noticed ALL 3 PUDC WERE HERMIES! So I killed them too, aside from 1 I just couldnā€™t let go. I had to see if I could pluck the balls and keep it going. So now, 1 Lemongrass in one tent, 1 Pineapple Upside down cake in another.

LG grew fast, wild and like a psychopath. While PUDC stayed nice and Xmas tree like.

Buds continued to grow as I started seeing more and more deficiencies. Especially in LG.

Right now I am fighting against time to keep them good until harvest. Just a couple / few more weeks. Good thing I have a light with a dimmer lol.
