She looks it!

To be honest, I have been finding it difficult enough to get a decent shot with a bridge camera, let alone my phone. I've just taken my plants down so I'm off the hook for a while. These were mine, in my titchy-tent a short while before the day came...
Nice man 😎👏 What were they? What are you planning on running next? 🌱

hi guys new uk grower here just about to do FB W/W in DWC so soons ready to go will update and see what you guys thinks
Hey man 👋😎 Its taken me hours to work out that "FB W/W" means Fast Buds White Widow, lol 😅😂😙💨

Thanks mukka!

Yeah the two on the left are different phenos of Chocolate Mint OG Auto by Humboldt Seed Organisation and on the right is a Sour Diesel Automatic from IceHeadShop.

I shan't grow again until Autumn or Spring, to keep growroom temperatures reasonable.

I am not sure what I will grow next yet, but the plan is to go with photoperiods.

At the moment, I am considering an Afghan and Ketama which I'd love to cross. I've built quite a seedbank during lockdown though, so I could go with a more predictably consistently yielding option such as Northern Lights, White Widow or Amnesia Haze.

They're a great choice, you won't be disappointed!

Wow, straight to DWC, how exciting. From what I have seen the growth in DWC is out the park :)

I did a couple of hydroponic grows 25 years ago, but I've been organic in soil the last few years as I have gotten back into it. I'd love to give DWC a shot in a few years.

I'll follow your grow with great interest.

Best of Luck,

Midge

Been meaning to give it a go for yrs, but risk was abit to high if you get my drift lol,so yeah thrown myself in at the deep end I know, but I like numbers an data an all that crap, so I thought Id give it a go, esp seeing some DWC grows like wow, so yeah jumped in been doing all my research and gathering up as much as I can, just been get to grips with PH PPM EC TEMPS HUM, etc, and understanding my nutrients and water, so now Im at that stage were I put theory into practise, lol as the next bits I can only learn by growing, but things at halt atm, dropped ph meter in water now its naff, so waiting for new one, so once ive got that I can be safe and make a start

Very nice there, lads!! 😊👍 Speaking of "nice", have either of you had a look at Mr.Nice seed auctions? I just grabbed 3 packs of regs (45 seeds in total) for €58 incl shipping!!😅🌟 Well worth having a look, I got "NHS", "G13 x Haze", & "Angel Heart" 🔥 I have zero seed collection right now, I always end up growing them, lol 😅 These three packs are supposed the start of a collection,.. but they'll prob get sprouted before end of the year, lol 😆. What do you guys like to smoke, what are your daily and your fav strains?😙💨

Thanks mukka!

I'm in organic soil too. I started off in coco years back and then transitioned to soil for simplicity. Inititially I found it gave significantly lower yields, but just by mixing coco into my soil it bumped the yields back up to coco-like levels 👌👍 I now get the good yields but with the soil/organic quality, its best of both worlds (imo).
Do you mix coco into your soil @midgesmith ? What lights and feed are you using?

I've never tried hydro. I understand the basics and could probably build a functioning rdwc system from diy parts, but when it comes to the feeding and general maintenace and plant health, in hydro I know nothing. You already know more about running a hydro system and the feeds etc than I do, if you're ready to get started, lol😅. Its something ive wanted to explore further just for my own knowledge base so starting at the beginning will be perfect and I'll be learning from you as you go☺👌. What does the rest of your set up look like @spab - lights, nutes, dwc system etc etc? Cant wait to get started, lol, make sure you post a link to your journal!! 😊📖

yeah thats my grow room just basic for now, just to learn the ropes, so just went with 1 plant 4gl b, its will be under 600w led for now waiting to get the marshydro TS1000 dwn the line, and expand to 4 plant system, so gone dwn GH nutes line, little pic to show? just got few bits to come next wk fan, air pump an stones, new ph meter, then I will be installing extractor and carbon filter in few wks time as not needed right now, and just been trying to spread out the cost of everything and when its main

got my seeds got some water sitting out getting ready 40l but new ph tester not going to be here till next thursday, was just going to get another cheap one, but I thought theres no point, best to wait for a accuate reading, (blue lab ph pen) esp cos Im doing DWC it has to accurate an waterproof lol so Im at standstill as dont wanna start germinating my seed in like ph7,8 water and cos its my 1st time just trying to things properly, then that will improve my chances of pulling this off, (fingers b,,,!s everything crossed) it goes ok, so this time next wk I we will be ready to go, then I will do a journal and post few pics of set up, and update were Im at with seeds and everything else,,I cant believe I dropped my ph meter in water though, but might be a blessing but need a waterproof one deffo, so you guys take it easy and happy growing guys,
any MAN CITY fans on here omg what happened

does anybody know much about electrics on here, as i was thinking you know if I could be possible, to wire me LED light into my grow room light fixture, that way I could get that wire out the wire, as it still be run on housing trip switch if any failures, or would it be an overload but been informed that LED only draws 60w, Im no sparky but cant see why it wouldnt as longs a sparky does installation!!!!!

I am no expert, but at 60W I can't see why it wouldn't be fine.

Not explicitly this time, I have before, but the mix I am using would be equivalent imho. 50% Biobizz All-Mix and 50% Ecothrive Ecolife Soil are both aimed at growing cannabis.

Allmix is: 30% garden peat base, 30% perlite and 20% sphagnum peat moss for water retention and texture, 10% organic worm hummus, with micro and macro nutrients and 5% BioBizz Pre-Mix organic fertiliser.

Ecothrive Eco Life Soil is: Irish Sphagnum Peat Moss, Coco Coir, Pumice, Vermicompost (Worm Castings), Mealworm Frass (Charge), Neem Cake, Seaweed meal, Crustacean meal, Volcanic Rockdust, Gypsum, Calcium and Magnesium Limestone & Humic and Fulvic Acids. So a lot of good drainage, a little water retention and buckets of organic nutrition. I have also used Ecothrive's Charge and Biosys to boost the soils microbial and mycorrhizal life.

I am feeding with Biobizz Grow & Bloom with some CalMag (as my EC is only 25% of that recommended) and TopMax fumic & fulvic acids.

The light is a Kingbrite 320W 3000K dimmed to max 75% as more than that causes light stress in my 60cm x 120cm tent. Extraction is via an AC Infinity with AC67 humidity and temperature sensors and controller. Watered to runoff every 2 - 3 days depending on how thirsty they are. The roots are heated with heatmat under all the Airpots and air heated with a tubeheater in the tent. The humidity is controlled outside the tent with a dehumidifier, keeping the inside of the tent to fairly optimal RH ranges.

I have literally no idea what my yields will be like this time as I am still a few days away from trimming and curing most of it. If I was to guess though, I would say around 2oz each plant 🤷‍♂️

I haven't looked at their see auctions, though I might, I am sitting on 100 seeds roughly at the moment and I am between periods of solvency, having recently configured my growing area and tent :)
Seems like a lot of people are reckoning on upwards of 4oz per plant with similar conditions, though I am yet to learn what I should improve first.

Many people seem to move on from Biobizz nutrients, though to be honest if there are no deficiencies and the plants seem happy, I wouldn't have thought that was a particularly weak link.

I wondered if I would be better off with some kind of watering system like a blumat for each pot to keep the soil at optimal moisture levels in perpetuity rather than doing a flood and dry cycle...

Ive used allmix for about 10 years, lol ☺👍 It was in allmix that I first realised how much of a difference mixing coco into the soil makes ☺ I sometimes use batmix soil for flower, or will use allmix and add guano 👍
I know Ecothrive too👍 I use the Charge, and have used their coco in the past, but not their soil. They are also the UK distributors for a new line of feed called "Beanstalk", which is smart release pellets that you mix into your soil or coco at the start, then you only need water until harvest ☺ A friend just ordered a small ammount to test on one or two plants, vs how we usually feed which is biobizz 😊.
I've also used biobizz for bout the last 8-10years, lol 😊 I cant fault it, I get fantastic results with it 🔥 I have thought about trying either the Greenhouse Feeding bio line, or that new stuff from Beanstalk. But for now Biobizz is the best Ive used 🌟 I also use molasses in flower, and epsom salts for mag ☺👍 I hand water too and let the plants tell me when they want it 👍
What feed were you thinking of changing too?
The 4oz p/p you're talking about is strain and pheno dependent though. Are these ppl also running just one 320w led? If you're pulling between 10-12 oz in total from that light then you're doing very ok 😅👍 (prob better than most ppl, despite what they claim 😉 lol 👍👊)

@midgesmith One more thing I forgot to mention in my reply, have you considered getting an intake fan? It will make a huge difference to your plant health and will also enable you to grow in the warmer months 👍.
When I first started growing, I only had a fan on my outtake for about the first two years. Upgrading to an active intake, with fresh air, made such a difference. I wished I had done it sooner, and would never consider going without one again. I now feel its as integral as the outtake, or the lights. This may also be another overlooked factor to take into consideration when comparing your yield to others in similar setups etc 😉👍

(A tip for anyone interested - fan noise - By putting my intake and out take fans in cardboard boxes stuffed with clothes and using accoustic ducting, it has reduced the noise from the fans to almost nothing. Ive tried expanding foam and mdf boxes etc in the past and quite honestly, this worked the best and was also by far the cheapest and easiest way).

I will that in mind when the time comes been thinking about why are some fans in boxes etc, but thats summits I can look into going forward, esp if I want to increase my yield

Are you asking me?!?lol 😅 This isnt my thread mate, I'm just a guest too😅☺ I dont care where you post but what I would say is that you'll prob get more responses if you start a new thread, and also post specific questions etc, as I dont think this thread gets much traffic, lol 😅 Its usually tumbleweeds and crickets in here, I think people see the 🇬🇧 and keep walking, lol 😆😂 So you might be limiting/restricting yourself quite a bit in terms of input.
Also, having your own grow all in one thread is cool to look back on later down the line. I wish I still had my first acct, with my first grow thread and pics etc.
But yeah, as far as I'm concerned you can do what you like, its nothing to do with me where you post, lol 😅😎

That fan looks like it might be ok for air movement but I cant see it as much of an extractor. You might be able to modify it in some way to either extract air or induct fresh air, using ducting, but it doesnt look like its really designed for that, to me.. It looks like a deak fan.🙏👊
