First Grow Diary with Photos

It’s my first grow but I work 12 hour shifts (wife check in in the plants when I working but she just looks no touching and reports temps and humidity to me ) when I work day shift I leave at 4am and check the plants just before I leave and come home at 7pm I see leaf movement (trying to return to previous positions from my leaf tucking) and bit of growth when I get home, but when I work midnights I check them at 4pm just before I leave after sleeping all day (lights off at 10) and get home at 7am and refill humidifiers and tie down for the day (LST) I notice much more growth right in the morning. Not sure if it’s a consistent thing with all strains / genetics but I’m growing 3x Strains and for me I see the most growth difference right in the morning when the lights come back on (running 18/6 on autos)

Most plants elongate at night in search of light. Conversely, root systems dont do a lot in the dark so always water in the morning or when lights come on IMO.

Helps avoid root rot and over watering. Night watering can cause all kinds of issues.

Get a wifi humidity/temp monitor. I have a Govee, works decent. Then you can monitor from work. My humidifier is wifi too and I can make adjustments from my phone.

Setup: Mars Hydro 39 x 39 x 71" Tent. Mars FC-E4800 LED. 6 Inch exhaust fan currently vented outside with no carbon filter. Very efficient with a short 4 foot run to the window.
Nutrients: FF basic 3 way setup with Cal-Mag as an additive.
Soil: FF Happy Frog 100%
Strain: Dosi-Do from ILGM. All five germinated in 24 hours in paper towel.

Hi guys. First grow here. Planning on 3 plants indoors in 3 gallon square fabric pots and 2 plants outdoors in five gallon bags.

I live in southern Michigan.

My current plan is to be in veg in a week and start topping at node 3, then LST to canopy. I don't plan on feeding these plants for several weeks at least and maybe not until they tell me they're hungry. Im in chemical lawn care and understand plant deficiencies, PH, CEC, etc. but will thank yall in advance for any help you can give me nutrient wise or otherwise.

Currently we are in tent with germinated seed, 70/70 temp/humidity at IDK 28 inches and 300 PPFD/umols and Im smoking some Willies Kush Cake that claims to be 32.7% THC

Question: Since Im using HF soil that has Mychorrhizae should I add some no sulfur Molasses now and then in a watering to activate the Mycho's?

Updated Wifi Pic one day later. I just dig looking at all these light green bud formations smilin at us!

Pound for pound I think I am showing a lot of nice colas happening on each plant and theres a ton of budsites below the tops.

8 Weeks Old - 3 Weeks Flower: Everything is moving along. Starting to bulk up. On one of the plants(3rd photo)...the tallest, it looks like maybe some light burn on the bud....white pistils arent standing straight up like the other plants buds.

Is that what it looks like?

I dropped my umols/m2 to 950 in the center and moved the plant in question to a corner where its getting a bit less.

9 Weeks old 4 Weeks Flower: Have very minor nutrient burn. Buds stacking and coming along. Starting to smell. I keep defoliating a bit more a few times a week, and should probably have removed more lower buds but I cant. The ones that are there will produce for me and Im not trying to grow cannabis cup stuff but I know Im gonna get some huge top colas going here soon.

Well been a minute since Ive been here and Ive harvested this morning. Three plants hanging in the tent. Flushed a few times no nutes for 10 days. Gave them 76 hours darkness did some wet trimming this morning and cut them down.

Heres some pics some are before shut down and after darkness. Also 2 pics from a few weeks ago. I had one plant turn early....a different pheno for sure or maybe it was an auto IDK but it browned out early and is over cooked at this point but I have some great nugs on the remaining two.

Ordered some GG seeds for my next grow. Hopefully get my second grow going in 2 weeks.

I think I am going to get a heat gun whatever theyre called to check leaf temperature instead of relying on ambient tent temperature. I ran into some over heating issues but the tent temps were always nominal. Im very happy with my training techniques and although theyre small plants I never needed a scrog net or any support and the main stalks were an inch thick. I still have to get the root ball out of the soil to look at that and dump the soil in my tomatoes....lol Im curious to see the roots.

Next grow will be five gallon pots these were three gallons.

My yield will be small but hopefully have some good smoke in about three weeks or so.

Learned a lot, lost a few and my next grow will be better.

I kinda wished Ida bought White Widow seeds that looks interesting...

The plant on top is my overcooked plant Ill be dry trimming that and parting it out in a few days. I dont expect much, the buds are loose but should yield some good smoke. Its just always been on a different timeline than the rest of the plants. My hope and goal here is 1/4 lb of good cured product. Anything more than that Ill be stoked.

Welp. Dried for 5-6 days, trimmed and in jars with 62% bovedas. Been burping a few days. My jar humidity without them was low around 40%. Its now 58 or so. I expect my yield weight to actually increase as I add moisture weight. IDK.

Total yield is 1/2 LB (8 Ounces.)

Observations are these. Next grow I am lollipopping more. I had too much popcorn buds which account for 15-20% of my yield. And of course I am aiming for tighter buds like everyone else. These nugs are not too bad. Im anxious to see if they tighten up more in cure.

I also ordered different seeds for my next grow. White Widow or White Rhino I cant remember but I also have the GG4's coming.

Reason is I dont want tall ass stretchies indoors. GG4 gets too tall from what I see. My other choice is a smaller genetic Hybrid Fem Photo.

If those seeds get here soon enough I may grow the GG4 and throw it outside for a short run before the end of summer. I dont need ten foot plants outside either...

So anyhow boils down to about a half gram per watt of light and I never used full intensity. I think the highest I got was 75%

Not bad for a first grow. Learned a lot and will apply that moving forward.

Thanks S/R. I hope it cures right Im in no hurry. Took a sample toke and it kinda tastes like ass at this point....lol Its still on the moist side not over and I have the bovedas in there. Im gonna yank those in another week of two a day burps/hour long to dry them out a bit.

I just soaked 5 GG4 Photos that Im gonna throw outside after being in the tent for a few weeks and my White Widows should be here any day. Ill move those along indoors with the GG4 but keep them in the tent for an inside deal. I know its a late start for an outdoor grow but lets see what happens. Im in Michigan. Not concerned with monster yields and not interested in ten foot plants so it may be just right. Not sure what Ill use for planters. Maybe three gallon bags or five gallon pails IDK. My indooor grow is getting the five gallon bags. This last grow was 3 gallon bags.

Whats your experience with fresh buds in cure vs cured bud?

I may not have flushed as well as I shpould have....IDK. Little worried.
