My second layer is the strings you see. I drilled holes in the other cross pipes in case i needed to make 3 inch squares, but never needed to. The strings, without anyplants tied to them, offer good support. 60 mph winds no issues. No broken branches. The scrog screen is one foot under that, 12 inches above soil. Next year, I need to veg prune. I elected not to this year just to see how it did without any serious defoliation or pruning. Too much foliage for sure. Also, I only topped once, mid veg or later to prevent plant overlap. Did you prune the sucker branches that form at the branch nodes even if they would reach the screen? I just feel like I wasnt very efficient with my actual tucking. Next year I will lst train right up to flower, then put the screen on. I think. I placed my screen pretty early and for me it was a mf bending under 60 sq feet on one scrog and 45 sq ft on another. And its nearly impossible to get a good look at middle colas across a5.5 ft screen. Lol. Im uploading pics to show you my situation. Itsa 3 foot high livestock feed tank. Screen 12 inches above the rim of the tank, not the soil. Its so hard to get under the screen, between the tank and the screen to do anything under there. And that deterred me. In retrospect, three plants in there was one too many. Too plants probably more doable for me. I need to rethink the whole setup. Im not getting any younger. Lol. Have a good day.

Looks great. Well organized. I'm kinda jealous. Mine are planted in compost piles in various place on the property with t-poles and fencing holding them up. The fence keeps deer from grazing when they were younger. Haven't had to use duct tape yet.

there was sustained gusts about 60, wind was constant.

I did a good job tying but only so much can be done, when they grow so long. the scrog is better. I would attempt it after becoming familiarized with given strain.

about all you can do is fix more ties and wire as they start to droop over.

its only day 41 and they are calling rain the next 3 days. I hope there calling it wrong.

Yeah rain here lightly now, and forecast next three days but nice after that. And Dave, I really wish I had piles of compost man! I see how freakin huge your plants are this year. Plus im retired and have plenty ‘o time to build ugly, but surprisingly functional things. I like to putz with making things, but man they are never pretty, but they are functional, and eventually efficient. I had a thread on this that I made, but Ill upload the video, and preface it by saying I hate trimming! PVC pipe FTW!! I used it for lots of stuff this year— the dry trimmer, an inside drying rack, my 2 scrog screens, and a strange setup to grow cucumbers up six foot vines that my wife planted in a circle—and it worked great.

PVC pipe duct tape some wire + zippy ties. Those are the top 4 handyman's best inventions, - um secret weapons- ever ;)

I took off most of the lower sucker branches, the ones I left turned into big arms. Mine is coated vinyl fence, only 4 foot across, but both are like 7 feet long, but I can get under pretty easy with the "shaved legs" lol My Black Cherry Punch has her own scrog cause she was the biggest, and the other scrog is shared by two. I wanted to spread out more and be a little lower, but I went on a week long camping trip and they had grown so much when I got back I didn't want to risk breaking them by moving them again. It was definitely a learning experience, I think I'll do an outdoor scrog again... probably easier than an indoor scrog assuming you have 360° access around the whole set up. I cut out a few squares to be larger so I could reach my arm around from above too... thankfully I have pretty long arms lol.

I used coated wire fence and the metal poles you pound in, attached fence to the little hooks, plus put a zip tie through a corner square on the fence and a hole in the pole, was super quick to put up and haven't had any structural failures... yet lol.

Ive given ample haircuts, it lightens them up, better. but the bud weight creeps up and sucks them back over. not a thing I can really complain about. Im thankful, that would make me sound like a jerk.

tc all.

Im about 1 hour east of Niagara Falls.

The weather front is looking bang on damn perfect for the next 7 days.

I began flowering 15 days ago in my parts.

Its just about time to hit them with a little bat guano and worm casting tea.
Also about an hour east of Niagara Falls - and not liking the weather outlook for the next week or 2 🤦🏻‍♂️

Mid Michigan here ... A few bud pictures taken yesterday. We've been dealing with a lot of cloud cover which has forced me to use supplemental lighting during the day. These buds should be ready hopefully next weekend.

Weird season up here in the thumb. Out of 24 clones and spread out between 3 growers my 3 here look the best.(not saying much at all)View attachment 1285670View attachment 1285671View attachment 1285673
And maybe I shouldn't say they look the best but out of the 3 of us...I'm maybe closest to finishing. Tried a bud that snapped a few days ago. Nice heady buzz so far so I'm thinking limp the girls thru next three days of wind and rain...let them dry off and sun up Thursday and Friday...chop on Saturday.
Good luck to all my mitten growers!!
