My first time growing / journal (help needed)

This plant has been growing for about six to seven weeks, weird I still couldn't tell the sex so I'm asking for some advice here. Can someone please help me identify if this is a female plant. The place where the plant is supposed to grow pistils or pollen sack is growing more sub-branches (so it seems).

You usually need to change your light cycle to determine sex.
Some of the more experienced growers may be able to tell, but until you get your light to flower time , most do 12/12 it is hard to say.
Looks pretty small for 6-7 weeks old but very healthy.

That plant looks a bit small for 6-7 weeks of growth. But it does look healthy overall. Would you might providing info about your grow medium, water schedule, lighting?

As for the plant sex. It is impossible to tell right now. Once you switch the light schedule you would know within 1-2 weeks.

You guys are right, my calculations were way off. I germinated this around Thanksgiving, which makes her a month or four weeks old at the most. I really need to start labeling the dates from now on.

I’m only using four 39w t5 lights for the time being because the tent I ordered hasn’t arrived yet, so I can’t hang the led light just yet and it’s on a 16/8 schedule. I’m using GH Micro, Bloom, and Grow in coco coir while watering everyday. I’m dosing half of what General Hydroponics advertised with water from my aquarium. I just moved her to a 5 gallon pot yesterday because the pot she was in is way too small. I’m watering everyday.

So do I need to change the lighting schedule to 12/12 now?

I wouldn’t switch yet. She is still small. If you wait 2-3 weeks before flipping (assuming you have at least a 3 gallon pot) you will get a MUCH better harvest.

fill up the pot with soil , looks only half full ... its not mature enough to sex yet . I wouldn't switch yet but I would prune the top and let it bush out some myself... more yield

If its been only a day or 2 then yes. It wont hurt anything but may mildly stress the plant. If its been over a week. Then you could risk the plant herming if you do.

You can clone the top node. And then wait until your plant recovers. Then you have to flip it to sex it. If it's female you already have a clone going. If its male. It happens.

Plants will show their sex after reaching maturity in Veg. Some strains take longer than others, but mine usually show their sex within 45 days or longer of veg but some show sooner.

Thanks a lot for the replies, def some nice helpful info here. I was watching Youtube videos by Rough House Studios, thus giving me the idea that my plant is old enough to tell whether it is a female or male. But I guess only time will tell, I'm not worried about flipping the light cycle just yet, I want it to grow a little bit taller first.

You're probably only about 3 weeks in true veg. Your other weeks were germination/seedling stage not Veg, so you should just sit back and relax, take a toke and watch her grow. Looking good so far.

Moved her into a tent with better lighting. I'm thinking about using the screen of green method or just use some regular plant support soon.
