So I have a question or two, I'm working on picking my bud sites on the Mendel grow. A bit over a week since flip, still not showing anything but pre-flowers. How many nodes down from the top should I pull any branching at this point? Will those nodes eventually stop throwing out branches and start becoming part of a cola?
Well, I am not gonna answer your question the way you want lol. Sorry, I don't count nodes. I tried all that years ago, but it was not something I could put a consistent rule in place for. For example, think back to how tite these nodes were packed on this girl. Then look at and post with something like Durban Poison IBL. The pic I nominated for CannaGranny in this months POTM for example. They are COMPLETLY different and kinda defies this type of definition.
So, once again, the broken record is saying to read the plants, figure out what it is trying to be, and work within that to help it become the best version of itself.
I like numbers of colas to be like 4, 8, 16 per plant. Depending on number of plants in a specific size area. So 4 plants in a 4x4 maybe to 4 or 8 colas each depending on genetics, and if you have more room or less plants, maybe do 16. Keeping it even like that gives you a good chance that the colas will have good stalk support and even resources for each but site. If you have one bud that is on a 1" diameter stalk and another right next to it on a twig, they will not grow evenly.
As to the number of nodes per cola, that will depend on a lot of things. Here is where your
raging kush will come in. You can change morphology to pack nodes closer on a sativa or further on an indica to kinda shape buds with spectrum. So what might be 4 nodes per bud normally on a nice sativa could end up being 5 or 6 packed into those colas. But once you figure that out, I tend to lollipop everything under once the stretch is over.
You got this bro, it will make sense the more you do it just like everything else.
I'm gonna go count the nodes on that Durban IBL and come back and edit this post.
Yeah, can't see 100% but I think you might have 7 nodes here
