im not mas at you i kno you got to moderate, but in my opinion ( im nobody here ya kno lol 🤣) maybe behind the scenes moderation? i dont kno, im just saying im stoked about her info simply because its just a record but her views and opinions wether debated or not should still be allowed. like you said MrAqua points of view are going to be debated regardless but if it works for her ? if shes happy , cuz i definitely are. ( Can you use are that way?) but yea i like the farm but lately all this animosity. Im just saying we here to grow and learn. and smoke a doobie or two lol. @Trixie im still observing and taking notes …
Couldn’t agree more and hopefully this discussion goes a long way to making some improvements. We are all passionate here and sometimes it just takes a discussion to remind us all why we are here and what really matters. Again everyone is somebody here and all opinions matter

I understand you feel it is the responsibility of the individual to choose who to listen to, but the mere fact this is just a digital environment lends one to take the advise of the seemingly confident individual. Meaning that someone that comes off with confidence while giving poor or incorrect advise is assumed to have knowledge. So to say it is the responsibility of the person asking for advise to choose the correct advise lacks merit. It is like saying well you choose to listen to the wrong person or let the buyer beware.

The forum at one time had a listing of likes under each persons avatar as well as number of posts and trophies. That as least gave someone a bases of the validity of their comments. There are people coming to the forum commenting with stupid one line responses that mean nothing and just running up their post count.Trophies are also well pretty easy as well as you have new member with the same number of trophies as old members.

Something should be in place to not allow it to be up the buy to beware, that would help out with these sort of issues.
I reckon just a simple 2 small squares In ea post …1.agree with this information. 2. Disagree with this information .maybe that could help the op decide whether to use said info or not..I see lots of people liking posts even when poster is wrong…

user rep system where points can be accumulated by a "say thanks for helping me button" cuts through the post count (high or low) and you can even start seeing ratios of helpful people as they will have a higher post to rep count. it's do-able, stinks that misinformation is so damaging.

OK, thank you for all the replies and comments. I am sorry if I caused problems, that was not my intention. My intention was to share a grow diary and method. Here are my plants at 25 days into flowering with lights off. I will stop sharing growing methods and words and only show photos of future growth. Again, I'm sorry for saying the wrong things. Here's today they are shoulder high and I still have 45 to 50 days left to go.

Welldone posting after all said an done. Have noticed if you dont do things the farms way your gonna get slack but ignore them do your thing thats working for you. People are slow to progress with the science. And most believe this plants is harder to grow than it is. Making a meal out of nothing is some peoples nature. I believe you can pull of a grow cheap and easily. Continue with picture updates. Its what people understand here more so than facts.

If we take into account the community as a whole and look at what kind of damage can be done with wrong advise it is also detrimental to the community. What happens when the person asking for advise takes the advise and then the outcome kills or damages the plant. The individual is not going to be happy with the community and negativity towards the community will arise out of the detrimental advise of a few.

Again I support debate.
An aware community can take the danger mostly out, by criticism, and lack of upvotes/likes. There's other communities where lack of moderation prepares fertile grounds for trolls to establish.
Rain for seedlings and RO for veg and flower- whats the reasoning there?
Let me guess a sheer lack of rainwater maybe

I agree, put the posts, likes and trophies back to where they were. Its a numbers thing and is useful imo.

And add a marker for the mods to check off when they've read a post.

Mods will like a post only for their records to show themselves that they've already read it.

Hey Trixie. When I joined you were one of the first to try and assist when I had an issue.

You tend to fire off one post answers with info and explanation.

I can’t say I’ve ever read a offensive or hostile post from you.

Your grow method is different than mine, and goes against a lot of what I’ve read, but then I have yet to grow the same way twice.

I’ll continue to read your posts that I find interesting or helpful. I tend to reach out to other members before acting on things. I also research things before applying them.

As an example: One thing I don’t trust is using rain water for any plant I plan to ingest. I’m in a large city beside an industrial area. If I was in a small town or farm land I would be more inclined to test or try this option.

Regardless, grow how you want. Help as you can.

You can say whatever you want, to a point, on your diary.... but unfortunately, so can everyone else lol. I don't think anyone wants this site to be censored unless it's hateful/dangerous content or something.

The plants look healthier in these pics in normal light. I see plenty of pics on here, as in the farm at large, that are clearly edited pretty heavily, so even pics don't tell the whole story. My phone likes to make certain plants outside look lime green, when they don't look that way in person.

We don't want you to stop talking on your own diary or to feel unwelcome.
Just remember when helping others, there's a lot of people on here that are brand new that may take what you say as law, that everyone has a different set up, and what works great for you may not work for them. I try to make it clear if I'm speaking on something that I am not fully versed in. We all have our niche.

I'm sorry if anything I said made you feel attacked, that was not my intent. May your ladies finish without issues and give you beautiful delicious buds.✌️😊

I don't think that's necessarily true, at any given time, there's so many different methods happening in so many different set ups and climates, it's impossible that everyone do things the same way... and that was part of the point about blanket statements being potentially dangerous.
I think the issue arises when the basic accepted best practices are ignored or challenged, such as watering practices... and that's probably because we see sooo many growers having issues due to not having the basics down, watering, environment, etc.
We are all passionate about growing, that's why we're here... and it's easy to get upset if you see someone giving advice that you (someone who has much experience) know is likely not correct, or is out of context, or doesn't apply to that particular grow situation... to someone new that doesn't know better, that may take the advice immediately and harm thier grow even further. We all need to remember to have respect and couth when possible... I know I've had my moments as everyone has, as you well know lol. Some people on here just rub other members the wrong way, which is bound to happen with such a diverse group. I don't like everyone in real life, definitely won't like everyone on a digital platform lol. No one is trying to be a grow nazi or anything, we just want everyone to succeed and get sufficiently baked from thier results. ✌️😀

Sufficiently baked. This is the goal for sure, but we can all experiment on our own way to get there. Many ways to grow. Budget to money is no issue to everything in between. Trixie has gotten the plants to this point without asking for any help here from what ive seen. I was shocked to find that there exists so many critics on here typing away on someones thread because they dont grow in the normal way. Not sure what trixie said on here personally i respond to misinformation when i find it but havnt encountered trixies post much before. There are some others here that clearly have no clue and probably woulnt make it though a grow without being spoonfed.

Oh for sure, I do new shit every grow to see how it works. A million and one ways to get to the buds. I don't think she intentionally gave anyone bad advice of course, but giving advice based on assumptions or based on only your situation, or without enough information from the original poster to give an informed response, can also be damaging. She just happened to be called out by someone that feels very passionately about not speaking on things without enough information to give a solution that has a high chance of helping. The whole thing got a little out of hand and I would have been quick to fire back if I got talked to like she was on a few posts, regardless if it was deserved or not. Women do not respond well to being called crazy, for everyone's future reference. 🤣

@Trixie I'm glad you posted again. Welcome! I was worried that you wouldn't. Your plants look so much better in the white light. That first picture is gorgeous! I wish mine looked so good. @TSD is right. There are many different methods that work well. Then again, there are growers like me who haven't yet developed a growing method that works well. 😉

I recently had a thread become acrimonious. It might have been my fault, but it certainly wasn't my intent. I was mostly lost in the details. (I probably had too much light and not enough nutrients. Multiple problems with similar symptoms make diagnosis more challenging; it seems.) Eventually, the thread improved and with @GNick55's help, my garden seems to be growing nicely.

I always appreciate help, but many voices can confuse a novice like me. Sometimes, it takes me a while to process so much information and other folks seem frustrated by my slow progress. I am sure I will eventually find the best growing method(s) for me. If I have learned anything, I learned that growing these plants can be much more complicated than I imagined before I began.

Most of us here are well intentioned and the ones who aren't get filtered out pretty quickly. But we are also very dug-in and set in our established ways of growing/diagnosing plants etc based on our personal experiences. A diary is a journal and nobody has a place to tell you what to write here, but where the boundary gets blurred is when you start to approach others on the site and leave comments in their threads coming across as a source of ultimate truth. Let your plants and grow speak for themself and people will respect you.

Guarantee you right now I ask you to think of the top 10 "wisest" growers on this forum and each and every one of them will have a different way we get to the end result so help threads can get a little ugly. I tend to avoid them, especially if I see someone already stepping in with advice unless they've missed something completely obvious (we are all human)

Enjoy your grow @Trixie hopefully others on this site can learn and grow from it as well.

@Trixie,

Please let me know if you want me to tidy this thread up to just relevant grow diary posts and replies. It seems that we have reached a point where that might be appropriate, and we can all coexist with a little better understanding across the board.

Another option would be for you to start a new thread, we can zap this one, and make sure the new thread does not get polluted from day 1.

Your call.

Thank you all for the kind posts, you made me feel much better. I love to grow cannabis and use it for medicine. I take offense when someone has to spend $65 for 3&1/2 grams just to get their medicine. Over the past years, I have seen so many people taken advantage of because of this. Walking because they can't afford a car, but have to pay $100 for a quarter of weed. How many people do you know that got ripped off in the last 20 years because they were vulnerable?

My only goal is to help people get their power back and not fall for overpriced buds that can be free. That is all I work for and care about today. Helping people grow their own meds and still be able to buy food. Not everybody gets Oregon's cheap prices. So let's get back to the grow and thank you for your nice posts.
