I need to keep it below my fence line as well . She been topped a few times....

New grower here. Just for fun/experimenting. I love gardening/landscape. This is Afghan Big Bud from seed. Transplanted at 5 nodes. In ground / no pots. Topped once. Prepped soil this spring with lots of organic soil, earthworm castings, etc. Ph could be a tad lower (6.5ish now). She gets watered by Mother Nature or hose when Ma gets lazy. Nitrogen fertilizers but will switch to P/K heavier when flowering evident in a few more weeks would be my guess. About 4’ tall now, chicken wire around to keep rabbits/critters away. 7 hrs direct sun per day currently, will obviously lessen going forward. Thinking October harvest. Hopefully flowers will get enough light. She’s healthy now at least. Any advice?

I have always grown in pots so that I can put them in the shed and lock it at night once they start flowering.
These plants are late otherwise they would be much larger. Had problems with seed not germinating in May so it was the 2nd week of June when the Wedding Cake got started. I don't smoke any more had to quit years ago. I just grow for fun and I give it all away once it's all cured nicely.
Cool makes total sense, as it would signal flower. quicker to

Nice indica, should finish in time. Caterpillars are the worst thing that can happen. Eggs can be plucked off but BTK, an organic bacteria, is your best defense in early flower. Otherwise one gets in a bud and the bud rots.

Sheesh what's the legal limit for plant cultivation in Ontario? I thought my 13 plants was a lot but holy.

Looks good.
Thank you! I have a 10 gram per day medical = 19 outdoors and 4 for the house in Ontario. Still chopping males as I ran quite a few regs glad I started with an estimate of 2 females out of 6 seeds some were all males or one or 2 out of 6 I think I’m done with regs such a crap shoot. Balls die!

Never again will I run regs outside 🤢🤮 nothing more disappointing than to see a plant that looks outstanding u have puts months into. I just cut down a male in a 20gallon. Feminized or clones outside from now on for me.

Yeah I mean sometimes regs can result in shit luck like last year it was like 2 males to every female at best but this year of the reg seeds I popped like 2 were male and 6 female. I can generally figure out if it's male or female with a magnifier long before they go into flower and eliminate the males before they can even pose a threat.

March, in soil, indoors under little LED seedling lights:

Current state, outdoor in 20gal fabric pots.

I put panda plastic on the sunny side, about 75% around with a little air space, to reflect heat and keep a little moisture in. It's dry and windy here. If that's a terrible idea let me know!

Have a slight nutrient deficiency happening. Top dressed last week with some mother earth vegetable something or other. Applied a top dress of Royal Gold Bloom this week.

Eta: nice plants everyone! :)

I can usually spot males by the first month. I look for the crab claws. I will separate them from the others until I can 100% see the balls
As soon as I can clearly see the claw in my microscope and can confirm it on another branch those boys are in the compost pile. I've learned my lesson from my first season growing leaving the males out too long just to be sure ended with a bunch of seed.....

From what I have read I am fairly sure your plants were growing slow because of the size of the pots they were in. The roots are trying to fill the area so the above ground portion is basically waiting for the roots to fill out.

If I was gonna use such a big pot I'd start with the 4" cups then a 1 or 2 gallon pot and maybe even a 5 gallon pot after that before I'd put them in the 25 gallon pot(unless they are autos which probably shouldn't need more than 7 gallons of soil).

Yes I started small and up potted 4. Times to get them into the 25 gal used mykos every up pot the roots flourished every time and had female parts growing on all of them up until a certain point then over the course of about 2 weeks the top’s started dropping balls
