Outdoor grow in Southeast Michigan 2024

Yes, it makes sense! Weed is considered a shallow, rooting plant! Likes to spread out shallow! I thought it had a long main tap root ? Then it spiders out roots?

Okay, so I alread decided that NEXT YEAR, I'm planting --2-- plants in the extras bed.
One will be an Afghan something, maybe one of those that GNick likes, Afghanica, and a CBD heavy plant.

The 12 will be.......?
Seems like the afghan one your growing now is the strongest against the elements you have?

I think you need to get away from the FuFu strains. Maybe check out HSC! Humboldt. Dream, old growth OG, Don Carlos, Stuff with a solid outdoor background! Now I’ll shut up! Good luck! And don’t overlook the triploid! I’m impressed! Leave the fu fu to the plastic sun growers!
I'll be watching yours, but really, we're in totally different climates so can't compare notes.
But after this year's disaster with the regular seeds, I'm back to feminized. And starting later.

It is. But, I pulled the curtain back and saw alot of dead leaves inside, near the stalk.
It's possible the leaves died because they didn't get sun.
Yes this can be the case. The amount of yellow leaf inside is amazing i know because i'm really doing a big clean out of the centers of mine all morning. Weather either way is taking a huge toll on the leaf health.

the gelato dream nicks doing outdoor looks good. i seen anesia seeds have some landraces to chucky.

Yeah, It will have a tap route, but I’m not so sure how much stability it adds to the plant! Even in my crummy, 30 gallon pots, 80% of the roots are in the top 25% of the pot! And I guess clones don’t even have a taproot! I read where you’re better off having a larger surface area, shallow planting area then you are a small surface area, deep one!

And it’s kind of a crapshoot with land races! A lot of them aren’t known for their prodigious yields! Even the THC content can vary from high THC to high CBD and everywhere in between within the same strain! Same with Indica to sativa looking! There’s a lot of wild DNA here at work! L O L! Aren’t as tame as the modern hybrids! Just google, the real seed company! You can spend hours scrolling through all of the stuff from all over the world! And it all comes with a description! You can learn a lot about Land races on that site!

And let me guess.... they're all --regular-- seeds.

Yep! L O L! You might be able to find some on other sites that have been hybridized a little! But I have always been happy with planting 16 plants and winding up with seven or eight! With a couple of fems Thrown in, just to hedge, my bet!

I don’t want to scare you off, but another thing is that just getting these beans to germinate can sometimes be a real grind or test! But they aren’t expensive! And it’s a lot of fun to try something different! Keeps things interesting! After three or four years of the modern stuff, it gets a little tiring! I’m mostly in it for the journey! Something like nicks, would look lovely in your backyard!😆

I got some of the same on BMS and I think you're right on the leaves just don't get sun. BMS is super thick with leaves. They are a different beast for sure.

The other 2 plants I got are tied out to open the plants up. They don't have the dead leaf thing going on.

It also makes sense to limit how many strains are grown in an area. With 5 strains you're open to what ever the 5 are likely to get. Double the number of strains may more than double the problems.

I WILL do that next year. And alot of other things I was too lazy to do this year. (g)

But, I disagree about having many different strains going at the same time. I want to find the best, for my micro-climate, and to do that involves trying them out, real world.
