If that’s the case then I think it’d be cool to have a contest or something to come up with a name, offer up some seeds and the name gets voted on.Nice! Luckily you have a bunch more so not to worry as much lol, I’m hoping it’s something special you’ll even get to name it haha
Agreed, it’s kinda like the nature vs nurture argument. The Jade nectar guy who grows all of the land race said that Sinaloa is a version of the old brick weed! But he grew it last year and he’s growing it again and they look like nice plants! So there must be something to it! It’s unfair to the plant because of stuff grown down in Mexico in the day didn’t have much effort put into it! But growing it under humane conditions in decent soil I think it will pretty up nicely! Hope you get some going!those old raggedy, ugly ducklings will turn into beauty Queens given a little love!
Coming live from the bricks![]()
Been about fourteen hours since I left the seeds, gonna check them out here.

Nothing yet, I noticed that the water was barely room temp, so I put both the heat pad and the cannakan in the cloth bag it came in, as well as my winter hat. It says set the temperature ten degrees higher than target area, so I have it up to 100 degrees. I’m hoping that the extra insulation will help.

Just have to check again before work tomorrow.

Good morning farmers, roughly 24 hours now, and………..View attachment 2419571
NOTHING, but I will give them another 48 hours before I retry another dozen with the sandpaper scarification method.
Hey man for what it’s worth…I can’t remember where I read about this, it was 10-15 years ago a buddy of mine had some old seeds from the 90s so I was looking into how to pop old seeds…this guy’s method involved scarification and then also he used pressure to try to force moisture into the seed…I can’t recall if he added pressure somehow or if he used a vacuum, but wanted to throw that out there!Yeah I wont be giving up so easily, but I do want to stay current with the situation, so until something gives I’ll be checking in twice a day and posting updates.
I have some old seeds, not as old as these, but I want to crack the code with fussy old seeds and figure out the best trick to get em to pop. Good things come to those who wait, right ?
Do they put those in cold to begin with .i have a bunch that did nothing .like that.so i am sure it is to late but for hahas i put them in the freezer .So I unearthed a tin full of seeds years ago and if memory serves me correctly they were from a quarter pound of brick weed that I bought back around 2010-2011 . I have a theory that if grown indoors, in a proper environment with love and care that these lil brick weed baby beens might actually turn out to be decent smoke.
Anyone who is interested cast your vote and pull up a chair, let’s get this party started.
Thanks @Oldchucky i think that’s it! Found the link https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/germination-bomb-for-old-or-difficult-seeds.67454/Probably something like this! Sorry to clog Marty! I am a stinker! Not a linker!View attachment 2419636
I don’t mind if people post related stuff here, the more the merrier. I am of course a fan of trainwreckingThanks! That’s it! I deleted my clog and took back my apology!![]()
Very interesting, I might have to try that. I bet you could put them in a larger syringe with water and plug the business end, then pull the plunger out slowly that’d raise the pressure on em.Hey man for what it’s worth…I can’t remember where I read about this, it was 10-15 years ago a buddy of mine had some old seeds from the 90s so I was looking into how to pop old seeds…this guy’s method involved scarification and then also he used pressure to try to force moisture into the seed…I can’t recall if he added pressure somehow or if he used a vacuum, but wanted to throw that out there!
Aside from that method, there’s some interesting info in that thread…stories of seeds popping after like 6 weeks even.Very interesting, I might have to try that.
