it might be drainage i think cuz those babies were almost bone dry when i watered last night lol it was 2am when i fed em and i took pics at 8am. and im using straight happy frog (due to lack of funds :() as far as nutes i just hit them with nutes for the second time so im not sure if its that idk :( lol
Yep... IMO, straight Happy Frog is not enough drainage. I use that in a 1:1 ratio with Light Warrior, but I might add a small amount of chunky perlite to see how the extra drainage helps. Also those grow bags don't let much drainge through the bottom... Well that's what I've read anyways... :itwasntme

The Grow bags arent the best drainage wise. I have used them and they are kind of a hassle. I would agree with the over watering, but I would say due to too large of a container size, if those are 3 gallon bags. I think coco would be way better to use with those pots. Soil just has too much water retention. I do think they are looking way greener though and have gotten over whatever happened in the beginning. Probably cuz they're filling the bag out more now.

yea bags suck :( when i pick up more soil cuz im all out lol ill try to get lw to mix with hf or i might just go back to my bread and butter and get some pro mix and ocean forest cuz im not feeling this like this :( i want them to look how they smell lol

i wouldn't knock the mix until you get the right proportions first... Then go back, but I doubt you will. Also experimenting with diff mediums will help you determine what works best for you... :thinking

BTW, they don't look bad at all... Nice and green. Just a bit too much water.

they are in 1gals i hate bags i only usin them now do to lack of ends and my shit being in storage :( but i definatly let them dry out this time so i dont think its that but it might be the drainage. i was thinkin of tryin coco one day soon though :)

You know what now that I think about it. When I had my seeds I only had one in happy frog, the rest were just in some really light potting soil that is for seedlings and such. The one in the Happy frog got some leaf twisting and and turned yelowish-purple in the first two true leaves. I just cut them off and it was fine. I did only have them in little mini party cups so maybe that's why it wasn't as bad for me. I think maybe Happy Frog just isn't as good of quality as other soils. The guys at the hydro shop were hella assholes. They sold it to one of my buddys and then a few weeks later we went in looking for soil again and he goes "Don't buy that Happy Frog that soil is shit." I just thought he was trying to get us to buy something else, but maybe he was right lol

yea ill try it still my friend just was like "happy frog is perfect bro" yadda yadda so i thought even though i cant mix it with the lw i could do it straight but now i know :(

yea i heard it was great and heard it was crap as well lol

Man you guys crack me up... I edited my typo. Don't knock the medium cuz you didn't cut it for better drainage. :yawn

I've been using Happy Frog and Light Warrior in a 1:1 ratio with a shit load of detail in my journals... No extra perlite. I think it's better than Ocean Forest cuz I can determine what I want to feed... IMHO, I'd rather have control vs a semi hot soil that runs out near aggressive bloom. It's kinda like saying, I got an undercurrent system, but couldn't afford the air pump, my plants are droopy, so therefore the system sucks... ;)

things are gettin lost in text so ill be more to the point loo

1 NO im not goin to knock the mix till i try it fully hf.lw and perlite

2 ive used straight OF with no problems in the past so using hf STRAIGHT i think is not a good idea imo

3 i have heard hf was the shit and ive heard it was a piece of shit lol but i do my own judgin before i make an opinion about anything

so in a nutshell im still gonna try the mix before i judge it i was mainly just puttin thoughts down that im not happy with using STRAIGHT hf but it might just be the operator not the machine so idk make more sense now shady? :)

Crystal clear now brah... :) I agree with you fully as I'm def not happy with straight HF... I also have said many times that I think my mix needs more drainage. Hence my plan to add some chunky perlite. Bottom line, we agree that we don't take others advice as gospel... We experiment and then make our own scientific conclusions. :cool

If it works for you, then use it mayn. I'm only saying that I haven't had the best success with, my buddy decided to look for something else, and winta had some problems in the beginning with it. I think once the plants are bigger it could be good to transplant into, but it's not good for seeds. The HF LW mix is probably some good shit too. Well obviously it is, look at your buds lol

yea man thats how i am ive listened to people a learned that u really dont know till YOU try it people will lead u a stray sometimes lol im on my macgyver shit heavy :)

Yo winta whats up man! I agree that over watering has occurred, but your plants are looking nice lush and green for sure. Keep on doing it! They are coming up:fighting0087: I like your mcgyver style dude.

As for HF I beleive it consists of earthworm castings, Bat Guano, forest humus, humic acid, bacteria, fungi, and some perlite. Those are certainly good ingredients. Havn't used it myself but I have used OF cut with about 30% perlite(great stuff). I think the HF should be just as good I mean the ingredients are basic necessary components in soil but its just not as hot as OF. One need only feed and water in the right proportions and HF should work out perfectly fine.

I actually just picked up a bag of LW and I can tell how mixing it 1:1 with HF or OF would give a really nice aerated mix. The LW is so.... well light haha. It even recommends to mix 1:1 on the bag for established plants. LW seems perfect alone for seedlings.

As far as grow bags go I don't really see how the drainage would be much different from a normal pot as long as you have enough holes at the bottom but then again I have never used them.

yea im gonna get the overwatering in check and make a mix for the next transplant. thanx for the kind words im glad they are lookin waaay better than before. and i always seem to be missing something when i start a project then i gotta try different stuff lol and i hate grow bags but i was tapped at the time when i needed to trans and .18 cents was better than $1 a piece lol ill have 3 or 5 gal plastic pots for the next one. thanx for stoppin through :)

Helllll yeah dude things are coming along sick. I'm gonna be real jealous around harvest time hahaha. Good job with the plant bondage too haha. I gotta find true grits thread again, it was a really good one. I love trying new shit.

The thing about the bags is that they dont have anything holding them up off the ground. If you put something under them with lots of holes or slits in it, the drainage would probably be better. They arent that hard to make. I'll post pictures later cuz I'm going to make them for my closet. I wont be using the bags though. :ridinghorse:

On a side note, I have seen a very large scale grow where the grower used all 1 gallon grow bags for a SOG grow and they worked very well. He had them in trays lifted above the ground a little to promote drainage.

Tellin ya broseph...went and scooped FFOF yest to start mixing with my Roots like I told ya....why even have to feed in veg at least not until way late...
