Wanna have a cool 8 dollar experiment to kill them?

Get a no pest strip and hang it on the worst plant. Come back in a couple of hours with a 30x and see if you can find a live one. Turn the fans off for a while if you can.

I haven't had one in over 3 weeks. Not one. I actually put 12 NPS's in my big room when I realized they work.

I keep 2 hangin up after 7 days of keeping 12 hanging and laying in the pots with the bugs.

It seems so simple its like it shouldn't even work. But it did for me.

Dichlorvos is the actual chemical.

If you end up using Doc Doom make sure not to have you lights on. In regards to Avid it has always work for me, but I have also had some success in the flowering stage(since I dont use Avid once flowering starts) with rubbing alcohol, rosemary oil mixed with water(very cold, ice chunks floating around) applied 3 times a day until controlled or 7 days before harvest. Once again without lights on due to severe burning of the buds. 1/2/15 parts mix rate...

Cali borgs laugh at Dr Doom.

I promise.

I sat a can down NEXT to a plant that was infested and it didn't do SHIT. A waste of my money.

These are two-spotted brown mites, BTW.

I've offered three solutions that have worked for people in California. That is all I can do.

Avid did it for me, Forbid 4b FINALLY did it for my son (he's in SoCal), single treatment with Avid did me, single treatment with Forbid did it for him. He's been battling mites pretty hard.

He also told me of another trick he's using right now. Check it, pretty clever even if I am his momma.

Hello Seamaiden. Thanks for the great advice im going to give your bamboo trick a try. As far as the Fordid, how long did it take to completly wipe out your sons problem? I sprayed tuesday and still have mites alive friday... Bayer says 4-10 days... Killed many but theres still alot that seem unaffected?

Make sure you mix up your regimen. If you rely on any single treatment, the borg will adapt to it in time. Keep mixing it up and don't give them a chance to build up an immunity.

This is always an excellent reminder, Gorilla.

He's did applications every three days, so he didn't miss a single egg hatch. Also be sure to spray the pots, under the pots, under the lips of the pots, inside the pots, the top of the soil, the stalks, and that should get an awful lot of them, but you've got to count on some not being nailed.

I hope you get them eradicated ASAP.

If it rains in NYC...everybody wont get wet.

Thats kinda how I think about spraying.

Sometimes I wonder if its that they are truly resistant (I know they can develop resistance) or if they were just missed by the poison.

I sprayed and dipped very well...I thought....and couldn't get them ALL gone.

As the NPS's DID work I started thinking about why...and I think one reason is it doesn't miss ANY.

Its the most simple way of breaking the life cycle...kill them as soon as they hatch before they can breed.

Is my logic correct?

IMHO!!...lol....and I will stop sounding like a cheerleader for NPS after this post...they just happened to work well for me.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you on that, Buddy. The NPS creates a fog, just try to stop that fog from permeating. NPS are a great tool to have in our arsenals, too, we just have to be careful using them, because they *are* awfully easy. Anyway, the fog thing is why a friend of mine never just sprays, he's got this fancy fogger thing that creates a literal fog in the space. Kinda cool, actually. Set up some colored lights, a disco ball, get a DJ...
he sprayed every 3 days??
He made it his new religion. He's been battling these things for years and wants to be rid of them, I'm sure you can understand.

I picked up the borg from progressive options also...

I sprayed my plants once with Forbid at the end of veg, and it took two weeks to kill all the mites and eggs that I could see on the plants. I postponed flowering for these two weeks to make sure the Forbid was going to work, because nothing else I tried was effective enough. That was a mistake because it did work but the residual effect only lasted for 3-4 weeks for some plants. I should have sprayed then flowered immediately. Those little bastards came back with a hellbent vengeance, and are really making up for lost time. But I am happy to say that the residual effect is still potent on about half of the plants; I have had no further issues with them until now. Im seeing more plants becoming re-infected here recently, and Im on day 78 of 12/12. Im spraying the infected plants every few days with SNS-217, which works quite well. But its expensive and requires you to spray the underside of the leaves, unlike Forbid which is translaminar. But the good thing is that its natural and completely safe to use during flowering.

For the Forbid, I mixed it at a rate of 1ml per gallon of RO. I also added Saturator at the recommended rate. I did not pH.

Next round I will spray the clones with Forbid when I receive them, veg for 30 days, and spray them again the very day I switch to 12/12. I would be tempted to spray about 2 weeks in, but Im fearful of having any residual pesticides in my product. Forbid is unnaturally powerful and totally wiped them out for some time. 90% of my plants were infected and I really thought I would lose my first grow to spider mites.

Good luck man. :fighting0087:

Well... So far I have done 2 applications of Forbid and it has knocked down the major populations and it appears the have stopped eating and laying eggs but theres still some straggelers so I will spray 1 more time before I flip to flower and hope for the best.. Maybe do 1 more spray week 2 of flower..I found it very important to make sure every leaf, stem everything gets covered, Forbid def doesnt have the internal systemic plant transport Floramite does..

Usually if floramite isn't working, it's because a mite or two were missed during the spray and that's all it takes.
Some have called me crazy and said I'm just wasting the chemicals, but when I have a borg attack I use avid and floramite together with 50% strength nute solution in my mix and spray every other day, three times. Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I have yet to have anything survive that kind of attack on them. :fixed:
