Thanks Mitchy. I busted my ass and hit a lot of luck along the way. The next time I have an arsenal of MPB knowledge instead of none.

I really like the coco. its easy and forgiving. I can see how many people run that after RDWC. Less energy, less work.. less stress. I am gonna move the screen this time so it is hanging right in the middle of the plant instead of behind it, and then I am going to keep it tied completely instead of letting it grow out. MOre of a true vert Scrog.

Unfortunately I thrive on stress and challenges, so I gotta try the MPB again!

Okay, so now that you've run both coco and MPB- and likely a few others I don't know about- what is your favorite, which do you think works the best, and why?

Well the pics would be awesome !!! I just picked up a pack from DNA and there really isn't a lot of info on it anywhere.

Man! I hope mine turn at as nice as yours. Ur thread is Straight impressive man. Respect.

You be the judge:

This is the original cut not the fem'd beans. I hope you get a keeper.

I like the MPB for its ridiculously fast growth rate. The coco were in like three weeks before the MPB and the MPB still ended up bigger.

I like the coco because its pretty easy. I did DTW so I would just fill up the res, set it, and forget it. I would run food for 4 days, then flush for 2, then repeat. Once I stopped being lazy and set up a short cycle drip, it got even easier.

They both have their advantages. This room is set up to run 9 coco and 9 MPB buckets.. unfortunately, I couldnt get lights on all 4 sides of the coco, but the coco sites still have lots of light (5k total from the side).

Also, I cant imagine running kosher kush in the MPB. its so leggy and thin stemmed.. It seems it would be a nightmare. Its perfect for the coco vert screen though. I just weave it around and thats it.

I guess I would have to run the same strain in both at the same time to really note differences. That will probably never happen, because I need diversity for the different patients that depend on the collective grow.

If you have time to veg, then the coco is great because its more worry free. If you want to go big and go fast... MPB all the way for the most risk and best yield (more runs/year if space is limited)

SO far I still like my ebb/flo the best (see capulator 6.0).. because of its interchangeable nature. Only problem is plant #'s. If you need to run less plants, I don't think anything is as good as vert trees to maximize your space...

IMHO...

Yeah that kosher looks mouth watering but It's the original cut lol fingers crossed.
Any info on the genetics ?
Thanks again

Someone here said MK ultra x (I forget)...

Thanks- your insights are valuable to me, because of their thoughtfulness, and because of the results you're getting!

What do you think are the main differences between MPBs and RDWC? I'm running the latter, in 5 gallon buckets, chilled and constantly recirculated. I hear you on the explosive growth in wet feet sorts of systems like these- my trouble is that I'm just not getting the root growth that so many are here with these systems.

As far as I know, MPB is a form of RDWC (recirculating deep water culture).

The containers I am using are approx. 12 gallons, and could be bigger I think.

Are you top feeding with drip? air stone in each bucket? size pump? I have 9 sites and have 2 1800 GPH pumps "y"'d in to a 3/4 inch line... and from there the line splits to 1/2" to feed each site.

Maybe you have some funk? Are the roots white or tan or brown or what?

I guess give me all the specifics you can and then we can try to trouble shoot it together.

So the system I built has 24 growing sites, all 5 gallon buckets. These are in 4 rows of 6 sites each. Every site has an airstone. The 24 are fed by an Ecoplus Air 7 pump, 200 liters/minute. Plenty, I think.

The rows are fed by an intake bucket with 4 outputs directly to each row. In this headbucket is the chiller coil, to keep water temps in the 64-66 range.

At the tail end, the 4 rows tee into two return lines to a tailbucket, with a 550gph pump running the water back to the headbucket continuously. I put any and all water, nutrients and amendments here, so they dilute a little more before running down the rows. I mix and pre-dilute my nutes before pouring them into the tailbucket. Water depth is just at the bottom of my 8" netpots, which are filled with hydroton.

The system is packed in pretty tightly, so I ended up only using every other site for my latest run, for a total of 12 girls. They're arranged in a checkerboard pattern for maximum elbow room. The space it's in is about 8x9 feet.

I have 4x1000W HPS bulbs overhead, running in Ocho hoods. The hoods are exhausted out of the room, so the air that's in them is supposedly not interacting in any way with the sealed room. I think I may have some leaks, though. I run CO2 augmentation, total of 1000ppm until I get things well dialed in, cuz currently they're not!

Temps and humidity are well controlled. Bugs are under control. Nutes are not- I've been running about .8-1.0EC and the plants look very hungry, but I'm afraid to feed them too heavily as I've burned them in the past. I think they got this way due to a lockout issue last week, I changed the water, flushed and filled with fresh Jacks. I hope they're on the mend...

Here's the kicker; this isn't the only one of these I have. I have a total of three of them, and I'm trying to make sure I have the knack down a little better before running the others. I plan to run them in a 3 week rotation, so I'm getting a harvest every 3 weeks, and putting bloom ready girls in at the same time.

It sounds like a nute problem. Once the plants get angry it takes them a minute to calm dowm.

Well,

The time has almost come. I want to let them go another week, because I think they are still filling out, but with the other girls itching to go sunbathing, it aint gonna happen.

I decided to do two things this round of chop:

1) fuck up one of my girls with a screwdriver

2) Give them a 48-72 hour dark period to see if it makes a difference.

I wish now that I was runnign the tangerine again. She really came around these last couple of weeks and she is fucking awesome for vert. The smaller plants that I thought were runts, I think they are going to yield more...HUGE colas. Dense, and did I say HUGE... (could have been way better if I hadn't locked out nutes I think), plus the bigger plants did not get as much light in the middle colas as the smaller ones that were like 6"-1' shorter overall. Theres always next time... Or the time after that...

Here are some pics. Sorry for the shitty celly cell quality. Ill get some before the chop with the SLR.

almost there...

Hmmmm... so am I screwed, or what? These girls are pretty mad, and have been for a week or two. Leaves are bright yellow, some dropping, spots too. I just kicked up the solution strength, hoping it helps. Buds are still green, but that's all that is.

bro what do the roots look like??? Got any pics?

maybe you need to drop the water level.. I know in the UCs they do that as the plant goes in to flower.

What week are they in?

Roots are fine, just small. Water level is roughly at the bottom of the netpot. Week 3-4. No pics yet, will try to get some to you.

I can't wait to see how this all turns out. Great job man!!!!

BRINGIN BACK THE MPB's!!! RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE AND RESCUE MY DAUGHTER!!!

Lights out!
