By the way folks. I *don't* do consignment. Y'all *ever* see any other Ag industry doing " consignment"? We're dealing with a perishable product here , not as perishable as strawberries ( as an example) but perishable just the same.

But then I'm very lucky in that I don't need the dispensaries , I've got my core market of verified patients/connoisseurs that won't go to most dispensaries because of ...quote ..." overdried , substandard mishandled crap".........

The good dispensaries will get through this , they might go delivery for a while but they'll get through it. The Pirates are just bending themselves over a log and making themselves squeal. And t'ain't nobody gonna deliver them from themselves.

So, by one more full term of presidency, plus the internal fights between state officials and attorney generals (added this upcoming lobbying by bigpharm and bigtobacco who will at this time, be ready to put out a new CBD or THC/CBD drug) I think the atmosphere will keep changing and swirling with new players in the game and each one with it's own agenda. Corporate greed will keep this momentum up.

All in the meantime, there will still be boutique growers, even if we go completely illegal again this type of community will still grow MMJ, but really tasty and high quality stuff, hence there will be a market. I think that is where I will be (I hope!) and I also hope no matter what state and federal fights take place, and laws being enacted, retracted, and the ones that never make it bast ballot, this community will still be here, albeit the ones who were only in it for the money, anyway. And good riddance to them anyway.

What would be the better (realistic) alternative to Obama? It probably depends on what your goals are and how you define "better," like it does for me. But if you support any kind of medical protection Obama is still the lesser of the evils.

Unfortunately supporting the medical model means supporting dispensaries by default. There's probably no way to get rid of them at this point without shutting down the entire MMJ system. I will give dispensaries credit for kicking up some tax dollars to uncle sam to the extent that it motivates greedy politicians to allow the MMJ industry to exist.

Therefore there is a need for growers to come out of their caves, get educated on the issues, and get on board with the idea of banding together to form some type of union so we aren't getting railroaded by dispensaries and politicians. Yeah logistically this sounds impossible, and I'm not smart enough to come up with any specific ideas on how to get it going. But I wish somebody smarter than myself would figure it out soon!

Oh and IMHO everyone is in it for the money except the people that are lying. I love growing Cannabis and I will grow it the rest of my life so long as I am physically capable of doing so. But on a much smaller scale! I would have no incentive to financially invest in, or physically operate 10k in lighting or spend the 40+ hours per week hand raising 45 girls at different stages of growth if I wasn't fairly financially compensated for my overages. It's not ALL about the money, but the money is a factor for nearly everyone other than the small closet grower working the 9 to 5. Wait, make that 8 to 6...

My cousin lives in Phoenix and he was telling me that when they narrowly passed Prop 203 there was language that would prohibit any personal grow within a 25 mile radius of a licensed dispensary. I've simply asked the question "how do i vend to your collective?" and the looks and answers I get are fucking such bullshit.

Every single place that is doing cash up front around me is telling me they wanna see/smoke my herb before they make their decision. Granted some of these clubs carry only TOP TOP SHELF and im not joking. One club in my area has nothing testing below 17.8 thc right now, highest at 26.4 thc.

As a youngin' I honestly feel like I cant be taken seriously, and besides the fact my herb is fire im treated like a fucking child. I once asked to talk to the owner and the cig hole sized eye lobed fucker over the counter told me "the owner doesn't deal with vendors until they've vended more than once to us, myself and the other main budtender handle the newer vendors..." well then fuck off!

My idea of being a grower and dealing with collectives is this.

Walk in with my backpack and ask to speak to the owner before even entering the back.

Take a sample? No.
AND NO I DONT WANNA DO THE DEAL OVER THE COUNTER WITH ALL THE OTHER PATIENTS WATCHING!

People seem to like to see us growers do a little dance and shake our leg a few times if they've never dealt with you. They never seem to think that from our perspective its just as sketchy to give you 3000+ worth of product and expect money later than to just pay up front to someone you've never dealt with before.

I don't do it , just won't. I treat folks with respect and I ain't real "passive" when they pull the crap above , though it was a bit more severe in my case than in the above , I jar cure , and each jar has final weight it contains etc. etc. 12 jars to a case , a lb to a case. Now what would you do if you had made an appointment and when you showed up the clown grabbed a whole jar out of that case and said " we'll need this for a sample" and wanted to argue when you said " put it back"? And then subsequent to your objections looked at you and said " what are you going to do about it Pops?"

Not all 'Old Hippies" are peaceful and submissive when pushed and sometimes it's an exceedingly large mistake , I mean HUGE to take someone lightly as regards age and size and initiate a physical confrontation. You just might run into some old man who is good at such things , maybe very good and who more importantly **likes** it , and nope I make NO apologies for that.

And the fact is that in a certain type of dispensary you'll get a plethora of the " Thug Life" wanna-be gangsters trying to run their front on you. I'd rather be back in a dark parking lot in Baltimore with everybody armed to the damn teeth but respecting each other. The quasi-legal market was supposed to mitgate that crap , not put you where you gotta drag someone across the counter and rattle their lights good to get a jar of your product back , and I may be sadistic but it was exceedingly funny to watch them running around looking for the smeling salts and crap to wake the big bastard up. And listening to them discuss calling the cops while I'm standing there saying " call 'em ,,,,or do you want me to call 'em."........by the way that dispensary was one of the first to cave in and fold when the feds started their blitz.

Here's another one , I've seen 'em calculate price by the gram , problem is that an ounce is NOT 28 grams , it's 28.4 a lb is NOT 448 grams it's 454.4 grams , that 6.4 grams may seem minor...not when you do the math across scads of multiples however. Look at it from their point of view , that;s two eights across the counter , an extra two that they got for free.

Bottom line is that if you want to do *business* act like a businessman , be professional , if you just MUST act the thug then you shouldn't be surprised when someone finally checks your oil/chin for you. And such business practices are deleterious to the longterm bottomline.

I go back because in reality that collective has the highest quality meds. Even though they dick people around (they pay up front after a g sample if they want it, no consignment) and re name some of the most fire strains out right now I still need good meds...tested ones too. Only club around me that has over 85% of its meds in house tested before they hit the shelves.

Yup, exactly the same story here, most of my meds will and have been for my and my girl to have constant meds, and a good variety. But sometimes I think it would be nice to just get some quick cash to pay off some stuff. Eh, future is lookin good so im not to worried anymore.
