I have an auto-immune disease that attacks my joints, kind of like rheumatoid arthritis except attacks all joints including spine. Weird I was perfectly healthy one day then I got the flu when I was 27 yrs old and all of a sudden my immune system went haywire and I have had severe chronic pain since (32 now).
Auto-immune diseases are frustrating cause its your body causing harm to your body, I think my immune system is a masochist! I have experimented with things like cartilage supplements, where your immune system is supposed to attack the cartilage supplement and not your joints, but it didn't help. Another interesting one I have yet to try is bee sting therapy.
I've used CBD cannabis a handful of times and it comparatively out performs regular cannabis for pain, inflammation, nausea, muscle and nerve pain. Hopefully it will benefit your wife in similar ways. Can't wait til I have my own supply and can use CBD cannabis exclusively! It's in the works;)

I genuinely hope you do get a solid supply if it works for you brother. Immune disorders are hateful things.. I feel bad for my wife some days.. not in a mushy way but just as another human being. Its rough. I'm going to attempt a CBD breeding project and I do think it will bear fruit although the testing will take some time. Its frustrating to watch someone get torn up like that... you almost get a helpless feeling and you're right, treatments are few and far between. Personally I think cannabis was engineered in a previous Epoch but that's just me :) Its really amazing once you start to read the research white papers in regards to what some of these cannabinoids can actually accomplish in tandem with our own embedded systems. If I can ever help in some way, just let me know. All we have is each other man. Peace.

On a related side note, K gets bad full-body arthritis as well... side effect of advanced Crohn's. The oil concentrates taken orally help her a lot. We're going to look into raw plant juicing as well down the road.

Juicing is a great root to go down, I started some Moma's for a local collective who give out a lot of free medicine to the public. They just kick it under a T5 and are constantly rejuvenating if harvested correctly.

Definately try it, Also I would advise using a tincture over oils. Try an Alcohol or Glycerin based tincture. They're easy to make (Glycerin takes like 6 months..). The nice thing about a tincture is that you can just use Trim easy peasy and still have plenty of other bud to do your think with.

Good luck though, I always love seeing someone who has a passion for the CBD dominance though :P

Ah, nice.. constant veg is something I briefly thought about...I'm running an experiment with a Purple Cheese mutant and its at 7 weeks veg. It was supposed to be an autoflower but this one was a runt so I've been hacking it and taking clones in fog. Great idea Chobble! I will do some research making tinctures also. We have some adaptogens... rhodiola primarily, in tinctures. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement... it is good to find others with similar pursuits, no doubt. All my best brother!

There was an article in High Times late last year or early this year about high CBD strains and one seed company in Spain has a strain that is the highest CBD of all mentioned in the article.
I feel for your wife and you also, because when your loved ones suffer so do you. I am looking into finding a naturopathic physician myself and have been reading Dr. Thomas Cowan's book: The Fourfold Path to Healing plus doing some transdermal magnesium therapy, taking probiotics and fish oil tablets. Looked into Organic Silica, but haven't made any decisions yet. Switched from refined sea salt to Celtic sea salt and I'm trying to get my doctor to look into some natural Adrenal Cortex instead of cortisone. I suffer from a great deal of pain, but can't smoke or eat any edible medicine containing cannabis at this time due to monthly drug tests. Prayers for your wife and all the sick and hurting patients out there.
Books like: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration and a book by Sally Fallon Morrell called: Nourishing Traditions which works together with the book by Dr. Cowan. God bless.

Thank you Plant-Lover68... very kind of you to reach out. I'm sorry you are experiencing high pain levels. I know how draining it is on the body when few options provide any relief. I will check out the works when I hit Amazon this weekend. Have you looked into raw cannabis juicing? I actually don't know if there is significant acid to decarboxylated cannabinoid in raw, undried plants but I recently saw some interesting work from Dr. William Courtney in his presentation at the Clinical Conference in Tuscon: Raw Cannabis: A Dietary Essential Optimized Through Individualized Phytogenetics (30 minutes)

I genuinely wish you some true relief and great luck with your physician search. You may also want to look at rhodiola rosea .. its an adaptogen and assists the body with several unique functions that prevents additional physical deterioration from pain and systemic stressors. It has helped my wife maintain during really bad flares and post surgery. Its frustrating to not be able help more than I can. Peace & Blessings to you and yours.

Thanks Caregiverken.. very cool of you and genuinely appreciated! Its an Ayahuasca vine... have a much smaller version climbing around our sunroom at home :) I'm hoping if I'm conscientious about what I'm doing, my grows will help her out... that's the plan anyway. I will post as I can along the way. Thanks again.

Thanks Manicinmaine. Actually its my wife that has severe Crohn's. Very good info. I am sorry to hear about your patients' illnesses. The disease can be brutal in later & terminal stages. I wish you much luck with your own illness as well. Take good care.

I am new to this site and I grew up in Boston area. I have been talking with my boy up in Maine and MM is moving along nicely up there but I don't believe there are dispensaries. I don't know if I am allowed to post about this but I will. Please tell check out Dr Schultze. He is out in California and is someone you should check out to help your wife. Also my girlfriend is a pharmacist and sees everyday the pain Western medicine causes people. I think we all know big pharma wants us sick because if we were well there would be little need for prescription drugs.

Good to meet you Santi. Thank you for the medical information... am checking it out this weekend. I try to not to dis western medicine too much... it does have its place and would certainly want a good surgeon if I were in bad car accident or shot but there are real issues with the practices and big Pharma as a whole. no doubt. It is a shame that a middle ground has not been found between capitalism and the greater good of Nature... perhaps it will come to pass soon. There is plenty of profit to go around and still offer natural alternatives to those in need. All my very best to you and your girlfriend. Thanks again brother.

Good info Chobble. I checked into Sour Tsunami and at the time the beans were only available from NorCal dispensaries... this was maybe 5 weeks ago, that may have changed, I have to look again. I'll remember the clear trichome harvest tip. Is that because CBDa converts to CBD faster than the THC precursors? I will keep an eye on the CBD test results online also to see what's consistently scoring high. Have you noticed a difference in potency or results between concentrates vs smoking? Not to be intrusive or anything like that. Vaporizing to obtain oil is a pain in the butt to be honest... the oil is very difficult to scrape unless you do it immediately while its hot/warm. Butane extraction is probably what we'll stick with although its the only other method we've actually tried. She ingests it via small capsules although she does occasionally smoke a small amount for nausea if she needs it. She wasn't a smoker other than the typical party experiences when she was younger. Thanks again for the great information Chobble. Good stuff. All my best man.

Thanks brother. Your cross idea is spot on for a CBD prize plant. Right now I'm working the CBD Nordle... just got some beans and they sprouted and are in coco pods right now. I'll post some pics. I remember yumbolt from some years ago. Might need to revisit that. I juice some of the plants... that probably drives some smokers batshit crazy but I will grow at least 2 of the 3 Nordles all the way out :) I'm not one of the highspeed, worldclass growers but will do my best and take some pride in my work so as not to embarrass some of the farmers who have been helping me out and teaching me great stuff. Definitely agree about Alien's CBD project... really stoked for that. I do have my first alien gear coming in a few days... its kinda like waiting for Christmas lol. This isn't about me.. its about my wife, but I am enjoying the process a bit now that she's feeling a little better. Its great to see people taking the time to help with the CBD growing and tips etc... its a big deal for us anyway. Thanks again Prodigy... all my best bro.

A quick pic of our Purple Cheese I mentioned in an autoflower thread. This was a runt that I hacked up pretty good. She's about 3' tall... week 2 flower. Started March 22nd lol. I was going to juice this one but I'll run it out 8 more weeks and see what she does.... serious pig for feeding.

Hey everyone. New to indoor grows.. maybe 3 months now. I'm focused on CBD rich strains.. my wife is pretty sick with really severe Crohns... had to put our careers on the back burner and moved from SoCal to US Northeast. Anyway, I have some background in genetics and am interested in the Alien strains and some breeding projects. Its been a steep learning curve but I know there's some mad skills here and just a ton of information. So far I've been learning and doing in realime which is a little painful and I'm seriously out of my league here but I'm happy to learn as much I can. Shout out to SoCal and 818. All my best..

I think if you can find the right CBD rich strain then you are heading in the right direction for helping your wife. I feel like alot of people probably have never experienced a true CBD rich strain. I have only had one or two, and they were both old strains. I wont go into the whole description again but if you read my info or see a couple of my posts i have described the old afghi strain i had, and am currently looking for again. I wouldf love to have that old strain again just to get it tested, all i know is that this old afghi strain would have been amazing for anyone with serious health issues, especially pain or nausea.. This old afghi strain was amazing, one skinny joint shared amongst a few people and you were couchlocked for 4-5 hours, no joke. It also had a smell you would never forget, thing is is the buds looked like crap, leafy, no red hairs, no crystals, but sticky with resin.. I liked that about the strain, it was deceiving, until you smelled it that is.. I was wondering, i see alot of afghi strains with a very low THC %, sometimes as low as 7 or 8 %, yet they have a high CBD, so i was wondering if maybe that is how you get the super couch lock, by having a low thc and a high cbd, perhaps that allows the cbd to really do its thing.. anyway, just my theory.. I am also very interested in finding CBD rich strains, the cannatonic sounds tempting, ever try that strain? It is supposed to have something like 10 % CBD or higher i believe.. btw where abouts in the NE US do you live? Im from New Brunswick, just an hour or so from the border to Maine, so i wouldn't be surprised if in the past decade if alot of the local Afghi we still have floating around here hasn't made it's way south of the border some..

I was under the impression that if let a plant get really mature the more amber the tric's are the chemical compound changes and gives more cbd then thc is this true?

yes, from what i understand that is how it works. I guess if you have a strain that isnt all that high in cbd then it's not recommended to let them go that long, you would take them when most are milky to take advantage of the thc, but yes, if you have a nice cbd-rich strain then i think it is best to let them go somewhat amber. it makes me wonder about the old afghi strain i had a decade ago, i always just judged it by the color of the hairs, i couldn't imagine if i was taking it early that it could have possibly been even stronger then it already was :)
