Oh Jesus. My mother has a tiny little Chihuahua now, too. She and my dad are turning into "those kinds" of old people. House filled with dogs and cats and lizards and such. While we were allowed a dog, it was only one dog for many years and NO CATS, Dad's allergic doncha know (so am I, but I deal with it). Horses always stay outside, so do pigs and chickens, ok, I get that because I remember how badly it went when I had my first pony during our first El Nino winter and I took her into the garage, not realizing she would SHIT ALL OVER the place and try to eat everything she could wrap her pony lips around.

Fish stay in tanks, and so did my frog, which my mother let loose and then insisted, "It got away!" when I went and said, "Mom! Where's my frog?" See, I introduced her to it one morning when she was on her way to work and for some reason it pissed all over her. And who knew frogs have such gigantic bladders? I'm sure it didn't get away all by itself.

Now she's got ponds full of turtles, tanks full of lizards and crickets, a house full of dogs and cats and we were never allowed that stuff, so it kinda makes me say, "WTF, Mom..?? And what's up with all these God damned little dogs, anyway..???" The one terrier they have, Pogo, he *is* pretty fucking cute and just too smart, though. But her Chi? Give me a break, what's next? Clothes and purses to carry her in and then it's birthday cakes and where do you draw the line?

As for the breeding, she actually took her female (bitch?) to the local shop to breed with the owner's male (stud? stallion? The Lizard Stallion..?) since her beautiful guy won't make it with the ladies.

What is happening to my family? I still remember us back in 1974, so clearly!

SM, I have no pics of my Honda 350. I wish I did. I took off the mufflers too. It was ugly, lol..but kinda cool for those times. With the long forks and no rake the frame was way the hell off the ground. Just a slight turn would easily make it flop over..if ya didn't hang on and wrestle with it.

Before my motorcyle days I started messing with my bicycles. Here I put on a banana seat (that was "all the go" back then) and "hi-rise" handlebars. Later I got into taking an old fork, cutting it and taking it down to a garage and having it welded up to make it longer. That was a bitch to ride too..but looked cool. The new era of "Stingray" bikes emerged and soon came the 3 speed Shimano shift....OOOOOO...ahhhhhh

Check out these full dressers with all the bells and whistles (headlights, mudflaps, saddlebags, basket, streamers, etc). And dig the whitewall gangster tires. I think they were Murrays. I'm the little guy and that's my older bro (RIP) At 15 yrs old, a drunk driver ran him down when he was riding and left him for dead. He was DOA. Anyway I like this picture and we were just two fucking cowboys stuck in the New York ghettos. I remember putting baseball cards on the fender edge with a clothespin and flip-flopping down the road. We also used fillled balloons but they didn't last long. I got my jeans rolled up, Jimmy Dean style (it kept chain grease off your pants too). (btw, that full-dresser? is the same bike in the above pic...just stripped down)

Lol, I swear u just described my life and my mom! Now she's got a Candy Cane Corn Snake. A monster Pitbull name Bubba. A parrot, 3 cats and a rabbit. And its just her there.. I did get to have some cool critters throughout the years. Crocodillians. Yeah. 3 American Alligators and 3 Spectacled Caimens. Buncha turtles annd iguanas. Stuff like that has always been a part of my life.
Really dig Bearded Dragons! That would be cool to rescue some. The wife and I were actually discussing buying our son one for his birthday. We all have always wanted a couple. They are very neat for lizards. Interactive! Thats awesome for a lizard ya know?!!! Got any pics of yours? ?

Nice Kolah. I had a pretty cool looking 5 speed when I was a kid.

Picked up a wrecked kawasaki 650r last summer for some cheap transportation. Love it, most fun I ever had on a bike.

I'd love an enduro bike to zoom around with. Good on gas and easy to elude the pigs.
Its been down a few dirt roads, but its what they call sport touring, more upright than sport racing, just a real easy to ride commuter bike. Cops only caught up with me once so far, motorcycle cop, never saw him until i slowed down some and he pulled up beside me. He was all out of breath and shaking, been following me for a couple miles I guess.

Wow! Thats a badass dragon! They get pretty big too. I like that. A neat lizard all around. Thats one I can honesty say Ive never had. Worked with lots in the pet shop when I was a teenager.
Ive probably had three or four Cali King's in my life. Never had one as deep chocolate brown like yours! That looks awesome. Ya feed it live or frozen? I bought mine at a reptile show 6 months ago and was raised on frozen prior to me pickin it up. I tried a live mouse last week and it struck like crazy in a defensive manner, cuz he aint holdin on. Id rather keep it on frozen though. Keeps a chill demeanor.
Thanks for sharing those with us! This thread was a good idea. Thanks for everyone participating!

Oh, then you should see the Cali kings we get up here. So dark brown it's almost black & white striped. Dave found one crossing the road a couple of months ago on our way home. It did NOT want to be handled or picked up. Was very strikey and actually 'rattled' its tail, something I've only ever seen in rattlers and gopher snakes.

No pix of my mom's lizards, maybe during the Thanksgiving trip to SoCal I can get some pix of her male.

Kolah, I am so sorry to read about your brother, that had to be absolutely devastating.

In the meantime, kolah's been sharing some amazing way-back-machine pix and that's inspired me to share what one of my sisters has been doing with home movies my dad found. They've been working on digitizing the movies and she's started uploading them to YouTube. So I'd like to share some home movies from the mid-to-late 60s. First two are in a little area in southwest Puerto Rico called La Parguera (it's where they have the monkeys on that island). The third Puerto Rican video was taken on the highway, through the central part of the island. All circa 1965-66 (she's got them marked two different ways, and gauging by how old I think I was in the movies and how old she appears to be, I'm thinking late '65). Various family members are seen in the videos, and the plaza at La Parguera is completely unrecognizable now.

I'm the toddler in the blue pants and white shirt wandering around the dock and the boathouse (and the earrings I'm wearing in the movie were among the items stolen). My middle sister is the chubby one in the pink ruffled outfit. Youngest sister wasn't even a glint in my father's eye, let alone a twinkle.

This third one shows the roof of the family home in San German (very close to Porta Coeli, the oldest church in the entire western hemisphere) that will now be sold. The kitchen and dining room were up there (are, I guess, unless a hurricane and weather have taken them out now), and that was the play area and patio for family and friends.

<sigh> It's all gone now.

This last one was taken in La Mesa, near Mt. Helix (which I thought was an ancient Spanish bullfighting arena!) back in 1969, and I remember it all so well. The woman is my mother, and yes, she was one hot mama back in the day (still is!). It's all built UP now. I wonder if my sister's footprints are still in the concrete. She wasn't supposed to walk on it, but she forgot and did.

Next up? If she uploads the movie where I'm pitching a FIT I'll add that one here, too. I was horrible when I was a kid!

Glad to share, we take her everywhere, kids classes, out in the yard, around the house etc. She is just happy to be held or out. For feeding she will eat hoppers live and she does about 6-10 a month.

Oh yeah she loves to flicker her tail when on the hunt! sounds just like a rattler if she is hitting some leaves. I had a beautiful albino for a few years but he got out and we never found him :( Awesome pets, and immune to rattlesnake venom :D

Have a great day, glad I could share a part of me besides my semi green thumb ;)

Our Golden Family...Momma Luna, Tank and Peaches...
These dogs have never had commercial dog food. They thrive on raw grass fed beef, all types of veggies, and a special dog food mix, made fresh daily...

Spent the day at this recent widows house buying parts for my 1954 Chevy /custom hot rod.
Her husband collected thousands of 53 54 parts. Lots of rare orignal parts.
Boxes and boxes every where. 1 box had 50 door handles and window cranks.
In the garage was a 1954 Cherry Red convertiable in museum shape simular to this one.
The car brought tears to my eyes. Absoutly perfect in every way. Engine numbers match spectuclar in every way. Ran like a dream. Hydro Matic Transmission, clean like from the factory assembly line.
She just might sell. I would buy this car in a heartbest.
I cannot believe thatthis may be available a few years back they were $60,000.00, this car is absoutly outstanding in everyway. Wins all cars shows it enters...Market is low good time to invest...
Got the fever, wont the wife be suprized when someday I pull up in my new 1954 Chevy Cherry Red convertable..

the mirror and chrome trim are also hard to find, He had several to choose from.
Tail light lens Blue Dot, top of the line in the day, orignal in box.
The poor lady lost her husband and then her son was killed on a ATV. Italian lady as nice as can be..Met a fella at a car show who went through all the parts and is helping sell them.
Offered $100.00 for everything, they said too much, I said here, I insist....
