good morning folks.

edit: Sea, 93 is kinda run-of-the-mill type wind around here this season. Don't get me wrong, you never get used to it but after reading your story of your wind this morning, I realized how desensitized I am about wind now. I am just so surprised by how much stuff doesn't blow away.

I've become accustomed to desert winds, especially the high desert. Here in the mountains we get bursts, but nothing sustained like that, and I've only heard tell of hurricane force winds. One of my family in PR immediately posted about that and let me know, that's hurricane force!

I honestly don't think I could ever become desensitized to the wind, though.

This is what killed Steve Fosset, or more likely a big wind shear, which I've witnessed but didn't monitor. Completely scary seeing wind coming your way, I don't know how else to describe it, but the trees were being pushed down as though an invisible giant was walking on and among them. Then WHOOSHWHAP! All my plants were blown over the balcony and I was standing there going, "Oh my fucking GOD!"

For Sure... wind is probably my favorite. I remember being on a small sailboat- a 'tuna' 20, quick boat but still a small one and a gust came up that was probably 'only' ~40mph. It had been at about 20kts and I was clipping along doing hull speed or just above and I saw the gust coming - it made the top inch of water dance on top of the waves and in the valleys. I really didn't even react but knew I was about to be wet. I went from probably 10-12kts over the water to the boat blowing over, and basically the boat and I belly flopped on the water. The gust only lasted five seconds or so and the boat tried to leave my ass for dead when it righted and started taking off. Good times...

View attachment 387442 Spread compost/ cow manure this morning, 2nd pile is horse, giving a few days more to compost in some straw. Running behind, my plants should already be in the ground. My neighbors think I am nuts for doing this much work.

BUMMER about the trannie, the last time I blew a trannie it was over $5K total (we decided to replace the motor along with, since both motor & trannie had over 200,000mi on 'em) and went without my car for over 5wks. AND it came back dinged up, so you can bet your bottom dollar we're not using that repair shop anymore.

Not only will it not fit, but first I'd have to be able to get it up there. I'm just too stiff, not bendy anymore.

Ever try to play pool with a robe?

Nope, only Pocket Pool in sweat pants ;)

If I may be so bold as to insert A couple of words for Seamaiden here because I feel she may have missed an incredibly soft / slow pitch and timing is of the essence when it comes to comedy...

Before or after the statement "The last time I blew a trannie"??? :woot:
