Coincidence..A replacement heat mat and thermostat arrived here today..for the one that fried after 3 yrs of good service. $28 for the mat on Fleabay is not a bad price.

Mine was less ... but I didn't buy a big mat. I live in a legal state and I have my med card so It's no big deal to hit a dispensary. I have no desire to grow large amounts or to sell. I want to become a craft grower much like some of my buddies and their craft beer craze and their home brew kits. I'm in this for the hobby. Weed is everywhere in Michigan. Truly great weed is almost never found. There's a huge rush to market that almost none is properly cured. I'm tired of all that and hopefully after a while I can reach my goal. I certainly bought enough seeds to practice with lol. (Seeds are my profile pic)

Same here..Mine is the small one too (10x20). I am in nevada and have my MMJ card too. I don't sell anything ever..but love growing. New strains keep my OCD happy too!
I only will go to a dispensary when company is in town, or on the rare occasion that I want to sample something before growing it...The dispensary weed sux compared to what we can grow.

I have 2 tents. One is a 5 x 5. The other is a 4 x 5 that is divided into 2 compartments. The 5 x 5 has a pvc grid laid out that will take up to eight 5 gallon pots. I also have threaded plugs so that configuration can easily change to any number of pots under 8. Using scrog, I am guessing the sweet spot will be about 4 plants.

The other tent could be used for flowering but when I bought it, I was thinking mothers, clones, and early veg.

I have been using HID lighting since to 80's. In my 4 x 7 canopy i use 2400 watts on a mover now.
Been eyeing some LED panels at my local grow store, $1600.00 a panel!
I realize these are tailored towards industrial grows but if I'm going to switch I'm not going to start with the budget stuff, well, because it's never worth it.
I would like to build a system that is compatible to these high end panels, is it possible?
So,, who is the guy here? Where are the threads for DIY legit LED systems?
Thanks in advance.
Im in a 4x6 bud room. I went with one tsw2000 and one tsl2000 600 watts from the wall I did not make a mistake I use two use three 600 hps with the new leds my yeald is better no stretch problems lights aside if you want to double your yeald get away from the small pots I ran 7 gal cloth pots for a long time the moment I went to 20 gal 15 at the smallest that's when things changed give it a try take 2 bags of fox farms one forest a 20 gal cloth pot under a good quantum board tsw2000 you will never look back the plant will grow as wide as the roots I can only put two plants in a 4x6 and the new light the plants do not stretch in the first three weeks of bud like hps or purple leds I use to think big pot tall plants not true big pots wide plants is true

Your setups are bigger then mine!
I have a 3x3x6, a 2x4x6 + a spare bath tub for flower..and a 10 ft x 2ft closet for veg. In other words,,I have most of my house set up for Cannabis..In the summer I have grown a few outdoors, but might not this yr. The laws here are messed up and no one really knows for sure about outdoor grows. Been following the old rules for medical patients that were in place prior to recreational in 2016. I know it changed but don't really know just how. Called the state where the cards come from and they had no idea!

Very nice outdoor plants there ... I could throw something out in the back yard, but to do so legally, I'd have to privacy fence it in first. I have other things outside I need to address first ....

One thing I learned way back in the late 80's and early 90's when I grew for several years, these plants like room. They don't like to be crowded ... touching each other, etc ... although some people love their sea of green.

I might have "more space," but I doubt I have more plants once I start my grow. Giving them room also means I have an easier job taking care of them.

Yeah..here we had to have a fence and locked gates. General rule was they had to be out of plain sight, which mine were. I never cultivated, back in the 60's and 70's, (lived in NY no less), but we tossed thousands of seeds and came back in the fall to grab what had grown. It wasn't the best, but it was free..No cameras back then, and we happily played johnny potseed in front of the local small town police station where I grew up! LOL

I love the pic. Your rules sound very much the same as here. If I did, it would be a lean-to style greenhouse off the garage.

I never attempted as a kid while living at home .... That would have been unthinkable with my parents. It was hard enough getting away with a bag of weed.

We sound quite similar..When my folks found out..My dad was crushed (very conservative) and my mom refused to speak with me for weeks!
Funny thing was that when I was about nq7, my mom raided my stash to try out with her card playing chums..She wouldn't talk about it, other to say that the ladies wanted to see what their kids were doing..Bet they had fun! LOL

If I were younger, I would have setup my shed in the yard with solar and water..too much work now, and I am happy with what I have.

I hear you there. This has become my hobby. If I spend some of my hard earned money on it, so be it. If I change my mind mid-stream and go a different direction ( I did that twice ... once with lighting, and again with the hydroponics plan.), so be it. It's only money. I'm old enough that my kids are grown and are (mostly) not coming back asking for a hand-out anymore. What's interesting is how supportive my wife has been.

When I got my card and learned that MJ actually was good for what ailed me (EXTREMELY GOOD!) , I was spending about $200 per month at dispensarys. The math was easy..despite my seed fetish..LOL It was cheaper to feel pain free and sleep again by growing then it was buying..not to mention that what we grow is way better then what we can buy..I press my own Rosin and make my own edibles, and dispensarys have nothing that can compare.

I spent 10 yrs of my life taking doctor's opoids and couldn't sleep..I dreaded even trying..tossed and turned for 10 friggin years.

I love hash and still need to process the summer crop into fresh frozen. Lots of rewarding work there. I still have some left over from the 2018 grow too.

I was born and raised in So Cal.
So our cannabis from the 60's on was everywhere, in the back yard, in the closet, in the national forest you name it.
Mom did diet pills, dad did Bennies, life was Good! Ha ha!
In '76 I had the classic pot plant in the toilet in the closet under flouecsent lights grow going on.
My favorite years were in the forest from '77 to '85.
Then I was introduced to the,1000 watters and never looked back.

Outside is the other end of the spectrum though, that's where poundage came from. I do remember trudging out of the forest with bundles on our backs that looked just like a picture out of Columbia!
Those WERE the days!
