I had a small set NFT set up with the bio filter outside for some lettuce. I ended up going with canna bio since it was OMRI and I didn't know about technaflora. It worked, but it was a boat load of work and the little lettuce never took off like with normal nutes. They were yummy though...
You are correct sir! Nice catch thanks.
5.5 is lower than I usually run my res, but I am going to give that a shot. More room for the pH to swing is fine with me.
I looked at my pH down, GH pH down is citric acid, phosphoric acid and mono ammonia phosphate. Maybe ill look for a straight...
15ppms silica sounds good to me. I just looked at my nute calc and 2.5ml protek comes out to 50ppms silica. I am going to try .5ml/ gal to start which should get me about 10ppms and then slowly go up from there to maybe 1ml/ gal to see how that goes.
I care more about my medium pH then the...
Thanks for all the responses guys. I do not usually stress over pH, but my res keeps floating to 6.4 in a day and the runoff is just way too high. The plans are visibly stressed. I usually (with the nutes i used to use) start the res off at 5.8 let it go up to 6.1 or so and adjust down to...
Ive been using the jacks, cal nitrate, epsom salt combo for awhile now, but I have been battling large pH swings for awhile, its gotten so bad that I will pH the res to 5.6 and in 24 hours its up to 6.2 (DTW btw).
I am using the 3-2-1 ratio at 60% with 2.5ml/ gal dynagrow protek, as well as...
This is very cool I'm all about vertical scrogs, especially in tree form. Please take some pics for us if possible :)
Have you ever thought about a fan above the light? You could put a larger fan above them without causing any wind burn and you may be able To pull more heat away that way. That...
I see what your saying. I think though, that, as long as you aren't watering instantly after you water in tea, flushing out the bennies won't be much of an issue as they will all take hold in the medium and on roots rather quickly. Id love to hear if I'm incorrect on this, I may have to switch...
I'm a little confused as to why you want to use it multiple times in a day. If you wanted to get fancy dosatron has a compost tea doser I believe haha.
I don't see how there would be much more benefit from watering with it multiple times a day vs once a day. If you do water with it multiple...
Hempies are great and so are smart pots. If you want to water less do hempies with the 50/50 mix. If you want to water one to two times a day with that mix, do smart pots. Personally I would do less coco and more perlite with a hempy. More perlite = more air and as sea said you can do all...
I think microbe mans site said that pump impellers will kill fungal hyphae but not (at least not significantly) kill bacteria. I would like to hear what he has to say on this though
A diaphragm pump is the way to go if you pumping tea. I usually hand water my tea in as diaphragm pumps aren't...
I've always wondered why no DWC growers use mazzei injectors. I see a lot of green houses use em on their irrigation lines and it seems like it would work well for long areas of pipe between tubs
Growstones are awesome. I'm running my chow mix with them this time and they work great. Way easier than hydroton and larger and stronger than perlite and thy are very pourous.
I thought that was his own design of water cooled lights. That is definitely one of the most impressive tree grows I've seen. The stainless steal is badass
I've never had hear issues with bulbs in the corners. usually its the middle bulb that causes the most issues cause my plants always want to try and touch it
3-4 ft away with a reflector would be tough in a 10x10 room
I may have to do this with my cieling next round. I hate cleaning it by hand so spraying it down would be way way easier
Ill just make sure to wait till I can't smell bleach to put plants in. Glad it working for you cap
I love bleach. If your spraying everything with it are you worried at all about off gassing? How long do you wait to put plants in after that.
I usually bleach and then rinse with water. I've always been a little worried, but i don't have any reason to justify that
Please let us know how the vert reflectors work. I will have to look into some adjust a wings if they work well.
Also I meant turning the plant on your own. That I tried for like 2 days in veg one time and gave up quick.
Hahaha you can't rotate a tree. A wet 15g pot plus a 5ft tree is crazy heavy. Unless youre super strong you would need to put it on a stand that can rotate, kind of like a swivel chair, for that to be a possibility.
