I've only grown with Roots Organic (original) one round.. but the picture you see in my avatar was grown in it, if that says anything. I liked the results, but I did have a SHIT ton of gnats... yellow sticky traps Full of them around the base...

No aeration is necessary... though I've heard a few guys say they aerate their teas still. You do want some sort of sugar/molasses... but when to add it varies from person to person, depending on who you ask. If you want any more information on it, feel free to contact me. I can try and answer...
