you can tie the branch to the main stem with a cloth plastic wrap
Cloth? Plastic wrap. I took some kitchen cling wrap and wrapped branch. then used some painters tape for extra support. that was the branch that broke 1.5" from stem. The branch that just about completely broke off stem, I used the same kitchen wrap to pull it back up against the stem. Both branches have shown growth since the damage was repaired. The cloth part is what gets me. Is that supposed to go on damp around branch and then wrap with the cling wrap to keep moist?you can tie the branch to the main stem with a cloth plastic wrap
ya, that works. Not moist just something to tie the legs together. i use tie downs or anything i can tie together. lol!Cloth? Plastic wrap. You are right not to try to do that now, that plant is too hardened off for such training. All that is left for it is to continue as a clone donor or flower it. Good job so far!Don't think I am going to do much more of the bending of branches. I tried as you said to continue doing that and I broke 2 branches. Too hesitant at this point to mess with it anymore. One branch broke about 1.5" from stem, other broke off at stem. Both hanging on by practically nothing. At this point I'm not going to mess with it anymore. Just going to feed it for next week or so until clones are properly set up then send to flower.
I'd loosen that up, one branch does not a harvest make and it can better heal without additional stress.I drew branches down a little more. One of the top branches I broke last time, broke again in same spot. Should I loosen that 1 up so the break closes or leave it puled down?View attachment 1197491
Yeah, I'm a bit of a bull in a bong shop. Still learning. Trial and error. And some more error. LOL. As a mechanic, I'm used having to put some force into what i am doing. I'll back off that 1 branch.I'd loosen that up, one branch does not a harvest make and it can better heal without additional stress.
Tying down branches is fine but IMO they don't need to be perfectly horizontal, and certainly not pulled down beyond what could be considered 'normal.' These plants are not double jointed, hehe.
one of the 2 very top branches. The other branch with clear wrap and painters tape is doing fine. I took tension off break and retied it.which branch was it?
Yeah it frustrated me, it was healed from the first break. It had that distinct snap when it broke. I was like f&@$#*k, I broke it again.ok, that branch is a keeper, so good job on tying it down. It will heal fairly soon, but lets not force things and break them.
This ain't a ford with rusted bolts
Woooo Hoooo Hurray! I had clones under 24 hr light. Pic is in previous entry. Wasn't getting temp or humidity in the box/dome I made. Putting them back in the tent was an effort not to lose them all together. The light I was using for clones does not put off any heat. I was thinking if I put a small heat source in dome with cup of water it would create the warm moist conditions required for clones. Haven't found that small heat source yet.looks good, that plant in flower is going to stretch a bit so keep working those branches without breaking them.
since your flower time is 12/12 or under, the clones are going to need more hours. 18/6 minimum
also, congratulations. It's a female!
Garage actually has a furnace. Garage is not fully insulated so it does not retain heat well. It's a big garage, 1000 square feet, 12' ceilings. Only use furnace when I am working in there. Tent with flowering plant is in the room with furnace and compressor. Tent has a small thermostat controlled heater. The grow box I made is to small for any small heater I have found so far. Grow box is a wood skeleton wrapped in plastic. 2x4 tent is to arrive on the 4th. I can put a heater in that tent. Trying to keep clones alive until it comes.why don't you get one of those Hurricane heat wave heaters for the garage and set it to 80f. Over few hours the garage will be warmed up.
