Really? Plants have evolved for millions of years under a 24 day but their biology doesn't work well under that? They can only consume starches during darkness? If what you are saying were true, then 24/hr light schedules during veg should kill the plants. We don't see that.

18 hrs of light builds up heat that isn't measured by a thermometer? Light stresses plants? Who would have thunk that thousands of growers that have seen their yields increasing as light increased are all wrong?

Citation, please. Your statements make no sense.
Also like to add, in natural conditions of 17/7 cycle it would make no sense to grow leafs during day light hours considering that's how they collect light. If leaves grow when the light is gone they will be bigger when light comes back and able to collect more and more as days pass. It's why you see a lot of growth during dark hours. Other examples of counterintuitive growth is re-potting, it might seem like a good idea to go with more is better and start with big pot but in reality having restrictions helps the plant. A 6/2 would give you the most light by also stimulating the aforementioned growth response in dark hours. You still get 18 hours but the growth explodes due to the stimulating environment (plants dont like stale, water or "stale" light but they would make due any way as hest as possible). To clarify I'm going to test this fully on my next grow

Old man is an angry dude, mellow brother. I started growing on tour ages ago and I never heard of 6 2. Decided to give it a whirl after reading this post saying there's a 24 hr of day light, huh? Not trying to be rude, but you do know that electricity hasn't been around for the millions of years the plant evolved? This might be a surprise to you but back in the hunter gatherer days, like 10,000 years before my time, crops weren't positioned in rows which means other plants blocked other plants and they didn't get 24 hrs of light. Do some research bro before saying people use to run 24 hr cycles on reefer throughout history, unless they use to grow in the North Pole. I forgot to check that out.....space....hahaha. So the reason that 6 2 is more natural is because it is more like how pot evolved. No lights or electricity for 24 he on. Things blocked the sun like clouds, and the dust bowl and trees... And thankfully this gave us what it has now evolved to be. Wow.... Some folks..

Whats everyones thoughts on 6 2 light cyles for veg or maybe goin 6 2 for early veg then 18 6 late veg ...
Hey Man, I'm only 7 years too late on yoir post but whatever. I found this article after I heard of 6/2 for autos anyway. After I read that I came here to see whay others are saying. It's always the same mixed sh!t, Everyone knows everything and who knows they may all be right or High or both? I just found it interesting and may give it a shot on My next grow. Happy Growing Man!https://www.dutchmanshydroponics.com/blogs/gardening/the-6-2-light-schedule-for-cannabis#:~:text=Switching to a series of,with a number of benefits.

Seems to me if you want to get into the weeds about alternative light schedules and mimicking nature, you'd be better served by creating a lighting system that dims and brightens throughout a 12 to 16 hour lights-on cycle to mimick clouds and such. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I love to tinker and I would take it to this extreme 😁. Which is exactly why I just set my timer for 20/4 or 18/6 and walk away... I can't be killing all that time with this stuff when I am busily obsessing over things like VPD, and wondering why I was sent to this Earth, where I clearly do not belong.
