Nutes are one of the least important parts of the equation for indoor growing. Surely the most over thought part of the process. Next time you are in a quality hydro shop, close your eyes and grab any base nutrient off the shelf. Your grow will be just as good as the last. Growers made the nutrients....nutrients never made the grower.

I've ran several of AN lines side by side with 3 other nute lines. Just like my my philosophy that nutes and soils do not kill plants, growers do, I believe that same way about nute lines. None of my results gave me anything special and in some cases other lines out performed AN. AN kind of makes me laugh and here in Michigan everyone seems to love the AN hype and products, for what reason I do not know. I like Gen. Organics, Root Organics, Pura Vida, and X Nutrients; X being my favorite by far. Cost, the fact you do not have to buy this to make that work properly, PH buffered and easy to dial in. I'm a cost effective grower and personally I do not need all the heavy metals and shit in my nutes, not to mention having to flush my soil every few weeks to keep the salinity levels form causing lock outs. You guys who seem to love AN, it's all good, but AN will never touch any of my grows ever; the test grows convinced me it is not a product I want to support or endorse.

I'm very new to this scene and at first I thought AN was the best since they had the most complete line of products. Now I realizes it all a marketing scheme and the most stuff you use, the more headaches you'll encounter. I keep it simple as possible when it comes to nutrients cause ever since I cut back on the additives my plants seem happier and theres way less problems.

Anyhow, I got to know a few owners and they both dropped the AN lines from their stores citing bad business practice on AN part.

AN has a 100% percent satisfaction policy which is good for us consumers but the bad part was these store owners were the one having to refund money to their customers and they werent being compensated from AN for the returned products.

House and Garden eats AN's Face! Quality, ease, price, yield the whole nine! I have been growing since AN really was the shit and was basically the only product on the market. If you have any doubts on the sub par processes AN uses, then I have a challange for you. Next time your in the hydro store, go look at the packets of bud blood (the small size ones that come in clear bags with a cardboard label). Why is it that every pack is a different color?

I am thinking of trying Jacks out. Either that or someone told me that there is a company in cali that will manufacture powdered nutrient with what ever nutrient profile you ask of them. You have to order a metric ton of nutes (Dry powder) but it is only like $3000 for a ton. I was considering ordering a ton and breaking it down to sell so I could get feedback from many others ( I would sell at little above actual cost). I mean as is I spend $700 ish a grow so if a ton of dry powder lasts 5 grows and is comparable quality I am in the money. I guess when all is said and done, more is said than done!

Honestly, that is not that long ago. AN has only been around since maybe 99, 2000 somewhere around that time. Fox Farm, Botanicare, GH, and a few others have been around much longer than AN. I would put any of the 3 mentioned above up against AN anyday as well. IMHO AN has never been the shit, just a great marketing scheme and over aggressive advertising.

AN is the best!! They are a bunch of pricks! But there products work the best by far. Have used Canna,H/G, technflora,grotek,botanicare, GH(the worst by far) dyna gro, some store brand shit, nutilife and Advanced....By far the best is advanced nutrinets.
People do not like them becasue they are assholes...Not saying they are not. They treat people and store owners like shit! So does that mean we have to now start making crappy medication with other solutions becasue of that...No. Sucks that they do not have beter morals, but when you dial in a nutrient, and run side by side test for years witht the same strain, and one or two nutrients come out on top every time..Hmmmmmm. Say what you will about them...Pricks. assholes, dick heads....Yes they are. Best product, MADE to grow our medication and not a chillie or tomatoe plant!!!! Not all plants grow the same.... Sounds kinds strange, and alot of people think that, but they don't!!! The other solutions are made to grow the same plants....a rose bush, tomatoe plants, geraniums..... mary jane...oops.... A rose bush with the same made for solution as my medication...No thanks!!!! Advanced. Canna. House and garden! All made for The mary jane plant, and not some tree or chillie plant. Have been to a total of 21 hydro stores in B.C. and alta, and everyone of them had AN. Do alot of them like AN...No, but its the best product for what they sell, to who they sell it to!!

I think the Jungle Juice ads are funny. I can pick up GH 3 part for about 20 bucks a gallon. The micro is a few bucks more than the grow and the bloom. AN says its like $100 plus for GH 3 part. I guess that must be MSRP or something.

I beg to differ. I ran Advanced against Technaflora Recipe For Success, General Organics, and Botanicare with the same or even better results than AN. I recently ran AN against X Nutrients Advanced Line, and Humboldt's full line, both walked all over AN. So I do not see where their cost justifies their hyped up and often exagerated results. I test grew AN when they first hit the scene arund 2k, and honestly, eve then theproduct was inferior to other lines on the market back then. IMHO, i could careless if they are assholes, but at least produce a product that will stand up to the claims they make. Getting a few gms per plant more with AN does not justify spending almost twice as much, and having to buy several more products than other lines. Also, AN has one of the highest salinity readings in soil and it requires you to flush almost every 20-30 days. This tells me they use subpar ingredients in their products. they are also very inconsistent in concentration. Consistency, how clean it runs, and cost all play a factor for any grower and their cost, as well as their results do not justify it being worth more than other companies. Their nute challegnes are a joke as well. Potency is strain determined, and partly environment, a nutrient line cannot increase the potency of a strain just by using it....that is a crock of shit and i will debate that with anyone. Anyone who breeds and has some clue about strains and lineages of strains knows this.

I ran a side-by-side with AN, Botanicare and Nutrifield. Identical cuts in promix.

AN blew them away, in my environment anyway.

FWIW, I was using Botincare at the time and got some samples, and said what the hell. Lets see.


On the nutrient line not being able to increase potency....if I choose AN and Miracle Grow....Lets say I use their entire line, as suggested by the manufacturers. With identical cuttings sitting side-by-side, of course. I cant understand how the MG weed will be as good/potent.

That has nothing to do with quality .... it's because p[eople are trying to decipher the lies they put out!

Look at most pro grows (99%) none of them actually use advanced. Matter of fact go on any weed forum and try to find someone with extensive knowledge and tell me they use AN ... practically impossible!. Better yet, how many hydro stores actually promote an over others? NONE!!! Why do you think that is?

IMO, The novice growers "think" that they have the proper nutrients because of the fancy marketing. They want an easy solution when in fact you have to put in the hours of research to find what works.
