But as everybody is waiting for a harvest or already harvested there isn’t many postings so I fill in the hole now & then !

Pheno, Well how are they doing one week later? (Chilly nights there)! Off Subject, but I thought some of you might enjoy this- ((I found this interesting study some of you may have seen it maybe not? It appears Durban Poison & Chemdog are the winners (Chemdog surprised me). GSC was spot on for me…I’m glad I bred my most Sativa GSC females with the OG Kush Sativa Dominant Pheno pollen I saved, I’m hoping for good things.

Well, the 2nd BAM, the Sativa phenotype is still alive but about ready to harvest!
The first one harvested, dried to 30 grams.
Smoke report: Citrus, lemony aroma, sticky, bright green nugs, slighty minty with notes of cinnamon grahams, but very subtle. Not very distinctive. Fairly potent. Not nearly as potent or terpy as the Rainbow Cake, Tropical Punch, Black Afghan, Afghan Skunk, or most of my other cultivars. Probably 15-18% THC and possibly CBD because I'm getting a headache while smoking it right NOW! (Which, unfortunately CBD does to me!)
Honestly, it's average, run of the mill... I'd give it a 6.5. NOT impressed!

What do they mean by sativa genotype ?

A genotype is the type of genes a plant expresses. Like a Durban Poison is a Sativa phenotype. As opposed to an Afghani Kush being an Indica genotype.
A Durban Poison with pink pistils instead of white, is a phenotype. Or an Afghan Kush with purple buds instead of green, would be a purple phenotype.
A chemotype refers to the terpine profile content and THC, CBD, CBN etc.
Chemo meaning chemistry.

My Critical Blue OG XXL autoflower plants are amazing at 19 days into flowering cycle! YES, they're pollinated!

I have just tried pollinating a Gorilla Glue #4 Auto and a Mad Scientist x Motherlode Feminised with some of the BAM pollen I got from a member, I hope they both work out and give me just 10-20 seeds I'll be happy.

My friend from Durban, SA, says that the real African Black Magic is a landrace strain, NOT a cross breed! So to dispel any myths, it's not green or even partly green when finished as apparently the Black Magic African that was going around in the 70's/80's! THAT version was apparently the Black Congolese crossed with Rooibaard Transkei! NOT the REAL Black Magic African EITHER!

Im not telling its real or not with it, im just saying....

Im hunting old landrace, and i know for a fact a Name (Black) doesent necessarly have to stay in a F8 inbreed line (wich this is). You havent convinced me its fake. If you give me good reasons, then im on your side.

If i would have the possibility to buy, i as someone who cant stand hybrid at all, i could tell you pretty much if Landrace.
A landrace has more benefits IMHO, it makes you uplifted or happy or feelgood. It gives you deeper feelings. Is it like that?

I have to disagree, my GSC is quite good at making me feel quite good & uplifted vs a GG4 numbing high… I have no problems with Hybrids, that’s why I’m trying to breed my own now to the effects I like, just harvested 103 seeds off one GSC plant… and one more plant to go.
SGSC#1 outstanding Terp fragrance & great High as in “High”, glad she bred.

I’m looking forward to growing my remaining BAM seeds & selection of hopefully a good female to silver thiosulfate (STS) for pollen & continue back breeding with the Bam pollen from my Bam male…long time line, but I think it will be fun :) Call it a FFM if u will ?
(Female female male). My plans r to not breed it with anything but itself thru Pheno selection…?!!!
After all, if the Homogeneous Tiger Striped seeds are Hybrids, Then I should have no problem seeking out higher THC and more sativa Pheno characteristics if their there.

Pretty easy to make, need right length bud branch, hash, patience & time…!
What’s needed:
Dry sift hash (not ice water hash to oily), kept in freezer.
5-6” bud branch (I like the lower plant buds) From plant dried only 3 days,
u want sticky & not fat buds.
Green plant wire
Parchment paper sheet sized to bud length plus 1”
Zested grader (zesting the hash)

The bud on the left below is a good candidate, but I’ll stretch or thin it down a little bit making sure the stalk is wrapped everywhere no holes. My dried sticks r about 3/8” wide 6” length…just use your
imagination.

After 3 day plant hang dry trim ALL sugar leave off sticky bud…put gloves on…& roll up In parchment like rolling a joint & about the same degree of compression…I like to over-roll it with the flats of my hands after I initially get it somewhat rounded…working it back & forth…again not tite, but a little medium compression so it’s round.

So below I have the bud stick rolled & ready to apply frozen zested graded hash…

Sprinkle/spread hash onto your cut pc of 6”x5” parchment paper 5” length by about 2” wide…Basically you are simply going to roll the Bud stick across the spread out Hash, again I like to use the overhand method mentioned above (ie: stick resting on parchment roll parchment “over” top of bud back & forth basically glueing the hash to it.

The pic below was the 1st hash roll, I had to zest more hash & roll it again until mostly cover

Below r sticks completed before rolled up in parchment & tied off with plant wire for curing as u can see don

notice the different lengths below

Curing is a “””critical””” step…Must be cured for remaining plant moisture to be removed, Interesting enough the graded Hash helps to act as a desiccant & eventually a sealer !?!

….Don’t want mold…
I will place them wrapped in an open warm area for 5-6 days…then to mason jar to check Humidity & cure in jar about 50% humidity level (For me this isn’t like curing my regular smoke I wanna make sure this thing is dry and no mold)!
I’ll check jar daily …after 3-4 months the plant bud matter, stalk & hash pretty much become one, especially after 9-12 months.

It’s a potent strong hit, I think the above sticks were GG auto & Northern Lights auto dry sift hash.
I use the hash for potency, because some of the Thai sticks I smoked in the mid & late 70s had creamy beige Opium on them & some of the sticks were simply good stringy Thai Buds (Asian Sativa) wrapped on short 5-6” bamboo sticks about 1/8” or less wide( I only got them twice, very lucky). And plant fiber string to hold it together.
I remember a friend of my brother who came back from Vietnam say in Nam the sticks were dipped in liquid Opium (only thing I can guess is like a Tincture ?)
The sticks were not isolated to Thai.

It’s a novelty for me & party fun

Well ended up with about 300 seeds of my OGK/GSC cross,,,Should be enough to pull some good Phenos out for further selective breeding (curious to see if they are F1 or F2 with 25% auto Pheno, both parents were autos, but the dad OGK auto had a 1% odd ball male photo !?!)
……..Got That I Don’t!!!

Well nobody knows for sure WHERE the REAL African Black Magic originated from. BUT I know for a fact from multiple sources, first-hand stories and pictures, that it's BLACK and SUPER potent! Realistically, it probably descended from the Viet Black...
So which characteristics of this BAM do you suppose resembles the African Black Magic?
Dante claims that these BAM are F8 seeds! Doesn't mean it's TRUE! With all due respect sir, you obviously don't know much if anything about genetics and breeding!
F1... 'F' means filial... is the first generation of offspring from 2 parents of male and female.
The first generation of offspring will be a combination of traits from BOTH parents and should produce 25% like the mother, 25% like the father and 50% variations of the parents! This generation will be heterozygous dominant.
Take seeds of the offspring and breed them, the next generation is F2. With F2 you should get 75% with traits of BOTH parents and 12.5% of each. Then becoming heterozygous recessive.
Same scenario... F3 You should get 87% consistent traits like BOTH parents and 6.5% of each. Thus becoming homozygous recessive.
SAME scenario... F4 You should get 93% consistent traits like BOTH parents and 3.5% of each.
Then FINALLY... F5 You should get 99% consistent traits like BOTH parents through out ALL the offspring!
THIS becomes a cultivar! Like White Widow, OG Kush etc....
So a TRUE F8 would be SUPER consistent with itself!
Which this BAM is NOT! I've grown it and smoked it! BOTH plants are different! One is light green with rust brown hairs, less leaf to bud ratio... The other one took 2 weeks longer to finish, more Sativa dominant looking with dark, olive green buds and dark brown hairs. BOTH lack flavor, smell and potency! Certainly NOT psychedelic at ALL!

I'm a straight shooter! Straight up! If I smell B.S... then I'm going to call it! If I SEE B.S.... then I will tell others NOT to step in it! ALL I was trying to do is tell others that this BAM might not be the REAL thing! And I've been harassed, insulted and disrespected for it by a few members of the forum! Thanks guys! Come to think of it, the BAM is an awful lot LIKE HEMP! One was FIMmed and 6 feet tall... only produced 3/4 an ounce! The other one was over 8 feet tall and produced JUST over an ounce! JUNK!!!
