Like this. I fill the bags about half full. Cut off the excess. Fold a pouch out of parchment. Load it in the press set at 185. Stand bag up squeeze a bit till it starts to look wet. The squeeze the living shit out of it. Give it a couple minutes. Pull dump the bag out of the parchment. Put in freezer for a bit till cold collect wax off parchment with dabber. This entire pressing was about 3-4 minutes.

Do get me wrong itā€™s pretty easy. But youā€™re going to fuck up some weed. You will have bags and parchment blowouts. It sucks but it happens.

Pressing is quick. Get it centered and bring plates together with very little pressure for 60 seconds. Bring pressure up to 4500 psi for 3 minutes ant 210 and itā€™s over. Like good flower, good wax needs to cure, 24 hours in the deep freezer.

first part of the wax project is a wrap. 60 grams flower = 6 gram wax. 10% yield is the norm for me but getting another 6 grams from the alcohol wash helps

I need to take a trip up to Oregon or Nevada! I cant get that alcohol here in cali I dont think? Chucky and I were talking about it one day. I think the best we can do is some iso!

Do you store your finished product in those silicon containers? Iā€™ve read a couple different things about how the rosin can break down the silicon and leach the terpenes? Do you notice any flavor change after keeping the rosin in those containers?

None, but it doesnā€™t sit for months. I do keep it in the fridge. Love these little guys to store my sit in, neatest thing since sliced bread

I think what Iā€™ve been reading is more of a guideline for ā€œbest flavorā€ or whatever! I was playing around online looking at all the different styles and sizesšŸ˜³ might have to get a neat one for traveling.

How soon after the drying period are you considering not fresh any more? I have some that is just done drying and some that will be done in another few days. Press is hopefully another week out (have not ordered). So some of what I may press isnā€™t going to be ā€œfreshā€.

Did you see Jaydensjourneyā€™s method of hydrating the herb before pressing?

You can have non-denatured ethanol, food grade shipped to your house here in Cali! But itā€™s expensive! Probably around 80 bucks a gallon give or take! Itā€™s on the web! It has to be non-denatured! But the sites pretty much spell that out for you! And you can get smaller quantities. 200 proof! A little purer than ever clear!

Thanks chucky! I think that would be a worth while purchase to have that extract! That kind of in the same boat as ā€œqwisoā€?

Wax pressed with moisture in the flower produces a different looking product than dried flower and yes dried flower wax gets darker the older the flower.
Ever pluck a big glob of ear wax out? Thatā€™s what high moisture wax looks like, dried flower makes it clear with a dark tent. Really all about end use, personal preference
