Yea, that's why I went with 3 different vendors with all 3 different lights, but I have to say, I'm impressed with all of them. I think there what they say they are, and your right there throwing out "theoretical" numbers out there, that would burn it up in a year to two, that's why I'm doing the build myself. I figured 35 watts per strip, was my idea, but they could be pushed to 50 pretty safely, with sufficient cooling, I suspect and still last a good long time. The cost, might not be a big savings, but I'm learning something, and getting to configure them myself. But yes, the idea was to spread them out and try and maximize the amount of penetration I can achieve.
The source is pretty much guaranteed. I've never had a problem with ebay, I'm satisfied that the product is legit, although it does appear they were sourced though China. Anyhow, I'll know the difference from the lights I've got when they get fired up, because they can't fake the intensity of the Samsung product lines, it's simply that good, those diodes would have to be double that size, and take 50% more energy, just to come close.
