Here is where I'll add some context to your statement. You can grow, but to fully optimize your environment, understanding of VPD is essential. I do believe the point is still being debating across every forum.
But my whole point WAS from a banner of understanding. Here is where I'll add some context to your statement.
Is VPD an important metric? Depends on where you are applying it. If you're talking about a 2 x 2 tent. Nope. If you're talking about a production setup meaning a room of, say, 500 plants then a resounding YES!!
Maybe this is where the confusion comes into play. In smaller confines VPD is harder to control due to the rapid change in a short time a small tent can have so keeping VPD in range is just harder. Also, if my plant could've yielded another 2% in dry weight had I kept VPD in range in a tent the gains are minimal. Apply that 2% bump to a production facility and now it's a big deal.
Is keeping VPD in range essential? Again, depends. I regularly push my girls hard outside of the suggested VPD ranges and they seem to do fine but I understand the mechanisms behind how it works so I have enough basic knowledge that I can use that knowledge to manipulate my plants and get the desired effect.
I understand your statement and agree in theory but mostly under the banner of understanding rather than implementation. I think it's important for even beginner growers to have an idea of what VPD is and how it works. Once they begin to acquire more experience the basic knowledge they learned about VPD will start to make sense. Do they need to apply it from the very beginning? Probably not. They're goal at this point is to get to the finish line. They can do that without staying within range. Once they understand basic skills like proper watering practices and can take their plant to harvest, then, they can work on optimizing the basics they have now mastered by implementing VPD and DLI into their process.
I get what @ACSippi is trying to do. Unfortunately his communication style isn't for everyone and he'll alienate many like you and I. It's OK. He's free to do what he wants until the powers that be on this site say its not ok anymore.
Just ignore what he's doing and continue on.............
And he doesn't want that in his tutorials. They're his tutorials. He feels its a waste of resources to talk about something he seems to think is just fairytale science that has no impact. He can do what he wants. He wants to fill them with broscience then so be it.But my whole point WAS from a banner of understanding.
I get it, but I won't be talked down to. I tried to disengage, but he continued to reference or challenge me. My bad on that account, butAnd he doesn't want that in his tutorials. If you feel it is important that VPD be stressed as an integral part of any grow then make a video and make your case.
My personal opinion is that VPD and DLI should be implemented from the beginning if only so that they understand what it is and the role it plays. Do I think it's essential to a successful harvest? Depends on how you define a successful harvest. For those of us with more experience being able to implement these techniques to success just shows the level of skill we've acquired. Getting to harvest is easy but getting there keeping everything in range tells me that I optimized my grow as best I could. A beginner just wants to be able to say that he/she grew their own weed and are able to enjoy it.
Baby steps. That is how I'm understanding what @ACSippi is trying to accomplish. Deal out, what he considers, essential to a "successful" harvest and cull the rest so as not to confuse the watcher of his videos. I think he underestimates his audience but, again, not my videos.
When and where did I ever say you can't? @HerbalEdu you're starting to sound like the other individual. I offered you a chance to answer my questions, I've asked you to use my words not your assumptions. Do you care to debate, discuss, or just want to argue. If it's just argue, let me know what we're arguing about pleaseyeah and still don't forget you can't even control vpd outdoor, still weed is good enough/enjoyable for most
If you had a choice would you prefer smoking outdoor weed or indoor weed?yeah and still don't forget you can't even control vpd outdoor, still weed is good enough/enjoyable for most
That's not a choice then is itwhy not both
When big business got into the act. When did cannabis culture become the culture of not questioning authority? When did it become and environment that we can't share or discuss, just argue who is right or wrong?![]()
Saw the same thing in the medical field, sales reps are a dirty bunchWhen big business got into the act.
99% of the "amendments" that are supposed to supercharge your grow have no real impact in a tent grow. Production grow? Definitely but tent grow? Not really.
Again, when I was working at legal grow ops I got to watch countless nute salespeople come in claiming they had the next big thing. Testing proved otherwise.
Most of these amendments, under perfect conditions, might boost your grow another 2% - 3%. That's a big deal when it comes to production growing but with tent growing you're only dealing with a few plants. The bump is not worth the money and time it took to implement unless your goal is to squeeze every ounce of performance you can regardless of what it costs.
OK. Let me reword it. If you could only smoke one, indoor or outdoor, which would you choose? Please answer directly with "indoor" or "outdoor" and not some convoluted dodge.why not both
Perfect question for you then! My living organic soil recipe is a mix of DTE 3-3-3, Bio-Live, and Bio-Fish. Just added Azomite to my recycled soil as well. Would you consider that overkill? When big business got into the act.

As well all shouldwell i will choose my own indoor weed that cost me 150$ for 200gr every 4 month
But why? Outdoor, in your opinion, is good enough?well i will choose my own indoor weed that cost me 150$ for 200gr every 4 month
My goal one day, hate the draconian laws that limit me to indoors. Beautiful garden!
