Finally starting to see some root action on the sad clowns.
This is kind of great news as I thought they were all done for. Found two with roots coming through, there is hope for the lilac diesel and chem haze clones yet.
keep growng

Don’t give up on those clones. They can really surprise you. Sometimes they just take their sweet time if the conditions aren’t perfect, but I have had some ugly ass dying looking cuts pop roots after weeks. Just keep misting. Cheers

Sucks to see what happened to all your clones man!!
Took me a couple years to figure out cloning so so many people giving many types of advice on different methods.
Looks like your using Rapid Rooters, same as what I use. I like to keep them in a dome for 7 days and do not mist them. I make sure the Rapid Rooters stay moist. Within 10 days they are usually well rooted. Misting feeds (also can kill them) so by not mosting it forces it to produce roots.
Just my two cents!!
Love all those vegging ladies!!!

Yeah man it’s fickle for sure. Last winter I had crazy good clone survival, ended up with too many plants (sort of a good problem). This year making those rookie mistakes. 1. Didn’t use sterile knife, 2. Stocked them with too concentrated cloneX, and 3. Left too much vegetation on the plant.
But at least I know what I did wrong.
Thanks for stopping by

And one of the disappointments of photo periods is this right here. Half of my rooted clones have turned out to be male. . Just have to throw them on the trash heap.

Silver linings in all things.
We have a chem haze and a MzJillz x Orange bud that have both rooted nicely.
I also took a few Afghani clones this morning, I used @Mikedin ’s suggestion about a little stem stripping, interested to see if it garnishes results.
Keep growing ya’ll

Awesome! A lot of people don’t think it’s needed but I like to do it, I think it speeds up the process a day or 2, and with clones, time is energy the clone is using internally vs getting it externally, so if it helps by a day, that’s a lot of energy the plant diddnt have to expend in my book

Looks like you already have a damn good process from the looks of those MzJillz clones

I like the lab. Wish I could have started taking over my whole basement. I'm learning about cloning and your thread is gold brother.

Yeah man. That work out matting stuff is really great insulator off the floor.

So I actually bred that one with some pollen chucking. I had a MzJillz Lemon Bean go male on me last year, and I crossed it over 5 or 6 strains in my tent at the time. Orange Bud (mnsl out of Britain) was one of them. Sadly I haven’t been able to back cross and stabilize the genetics, im just happy to get one to pop. A lot of the pollen chuck cross seeds come up duds.

Breeding is a great fun experiment but huge time scales of the s back cross process, I don’t really have enough space to devote a tent of two just to trying to stabilize the genetics. Maybe down the road.

Yeah man,
Thanks for stopping by. It’s taken me a few years of a lot of errors, but I’m glad you’re getting something out of it. Hopefully I’ll make the mistakes so you don’t have too. Best cloning advice is make sure you have a sterile blade.
Also your room has come a long way. I did a little lurking, great results with the environmental controls you’ve put in place.
Keep growing.

Sooo,
It’s not my basement. But this a basement lab. Was over a buddies house this past weekend. We cut 25-30ish clones. I hope he has much better results than I did with my large batch.
I have to say, PRO TIP: always have a sterile blade for the cloning. Pathogens are real and the kill plants.
Be well and keep growing!

Oooh shoot players.
So I didn’t think this was going to happen for another week at the least. I have a different buddy who dabbles with out door, but has no indoor capacity. So he and I were taking early in the fall about how I’m on a seed buying moratorium from the misses. To be fair, it’s only wants not needs anymore. But that’s a tangent. He and I stuck an accord that I would grow out / clone and generally prep him summer stock in exchange for he buying his seeds plus 2 strains for me. Well they came in this afternoon, NEW GENETICS IN DA HAUS!!!
Friend pile:
Black Domina (fem)
Blue Dream (fem)
Northern Lights (fem)

My pile: I roll regs
Mazar
Jack Herer

And of course some freebies. Shout out to https://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/ for the seeds. Professional and prompt team over there. Already put a sampling in the ground. Two of the Black Dom, one each Blue Dream and northern lights, then two of the Mazar for me to start to get a feel for them.
Gotta love getting new stuff!
Keep growing y’all

MzJillz x Orange bud clone survived. Out that little lady into soil tonight.
It’s kind of crazy the good results one can get with their clones when they actually do it the right way. Fing bonehead award. Remember sterile blades!!
So far 4/7 clones rooted and in soil since I snipped with clean blade.
Just Keep growing!

So I have 8 surviving clones at this point. They are actually making good headway give them another sixty seventy days and I’ll be able to clone them again for a huge summer stock.
Also the experiment with main lining is going really really well. I’m a little bit disappointed at how long the grow time is on the veg there. It’s a delicate process, I’ll have to keep playing around with the process.

Day 116
Starting to see some fire in the bloom tent, we’re not at the bud porn stage, but it’s on the horizon. MzJillz. X Orange Bud in the back left corner really excited to see that making strong bud development. Green nugget in the foreground is looking really lush as well. Need to do a bloom specific fertilizing in the new future.
I’ve had to take out 5 males in total. But it’s good. Make a selection in the pole, I am planning on breeding through a single male to boost the seed supply a little bit. So what should I keep going with the genetics?
Males MzJillz S1, Quattum Kush x Lilac Diesel, or Humbolt Blue (blue Dream x purple haze).

New Genetics in Da HAUS!
So all the new seeds popped within a week, no problems with cleaning off the seed shells. They can kill plants, leaves get trapped, I hear people who do the paper towel method don’t have that problem.
Regardless the new plants are off and running. My first experience with growing the feminized seeds, seen to be totally normal thus far. I am interested in breeding them so I hope they react the same.

Pro tip 1: always use a little mycorrhizae when transplanting it will give you a jump on the roots growing to fill the new pot.
Pro Tip 2: bury those leggy stems, level our plants for ease of future growth and tent management.

Put in a little time this morning and transplant the new plants. One of my favorite times in the total life cycle, so much potential.
Keep calm and grow on you’all
