I asked about mad cow and this is what I got!View attachment 2699250View attachment 2699251
My neighbor is a DVM, or used to be neighbor since he did sell out, and when we had him check our goats out he told me about Blue tongue and how in his 40+ years of practice he's only seen two or three cases here of Blue tongue and both were in sheep. I had never heard of it before then. APHIS and Arkansas Fish and Game have stats on CWD but I haven't looked in a number of years since I stopped hunting them but I don't recall there being aby confirmed here. APHIS also has stats on RHVD which I check every now and then. He also told me that he hasn't had any cases of Rattlesnake envenomation, just Copperhead and Cottonmouth and Cottonmouth was only a couple. He said he's seen a lot of Copperhead cases though so he kept antivenom at the clinic. But like he said, doesn't mean shit if it happens.

I think dogs still have that, self preservation gene, that has been passed down for thousands of years! All of my dogs have come across coiled and rattling snakes, and they may bark at it, but they don’t get any closer than about 5 feet! Danger, Will Robinson! I really don’t know anything about them, but I imagine cottonmouths hang pretty close to Water so that might limit their interactions with dogs! You have too many venomous snakes back there!🍻

My younger two do plus we have worked with them on come command, no matter what they are doing. But the 16 yr is a typical terrier and her reflexes aren't what they used to be.

You'd be surprised how far away cottonmouths are from water. I've found most of em well away from the creeks and up in the driveway or back yard. This last one was amongst the grow bags of veggies and my dog Ginger was barking at it. https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/g...-circling-skeletal-family.175136/post-3444146

I agree, every dog I’ve ever owned had a healthy respect for snakes. They would bark, but not get too close. Had my Chesapeake find a buzztail last year at hat creek. I knew something was up because of the “special” bark. When I got there she wouldn’t go any closer than about 5 feet.

Nice! The season has been open for a couple of weeks so they’re probably pretty skittish! Hope you get into one! Who knows with the bear! I guess you’ll find out if the kid likes getting up early! Lol! I’ve killed two bears in my life and they didn’t have anything to do with hunting! Had to do with pot growing in the bushes back in the day! Would be nice if you could tag one of those too!👍🍻 walked out the back porch the other day and ran into this! The dog took one look at it and went back into the house! Lol! And I sure as hell wasn’t gonna tangle with it! It was acting weird for a buck and they are pretty unpredictable in the rut! Had three points on one side!

Glad we don’t have to deal with those guys. Around here we’ve only got 1 type of buzztail, get into southern Ca. and there’s a bunch of different kinds.

Cheetah piss X jealousy issues! I don’t know what the jealousy cross is. Fromage Blanc! A type of French cheese made from cows milk with a smooth, soft texture and a sour taste! That sounds good! Wouldn’t mind slopping some of that on some pretzels!😍🍻
😂 Pretzels and fromage then a🍺Sounds good I've had the cheetah piss before 👍 some are better for smoking than making hash I would of thought.

That’s why I went with it! For my smoking weed! All of the rest is headed for the screens or the bags! A lot of land race isn’t the greatest for Bud smoking! When you concentrate it down is when it starts to shine! Never see any Afghanis smoking bud! Lol! The cheetah is looking good! I think it’s ready, but I’m not ready for it yet! Have to get off my ass and get the hanging room, cleaned up! All of the others have a long ways to go! The cheetah looks as good as any modern strain I have grown! Hard, heavy, and puking frost! But it’s all cloudy so I need to get moving!

Yeah man makes sense the landrace being better hash quality. Gonna flying of that cheetah😆 probably be able to cure it in time. So you have smoke while you wait for the others. Get out there get some cheetah Chucky🍺

Is that disease just in your neck o the woods? We had that wasting disease in Michigan for awhile but haven't heard anything about it in a couple years.
Now we got the EHD taking out a lot of deer in southern MI !! I’ve seen Jackson Cty Kent cty Shiawassee and a couple others have been hit hard with it this year

They're basically the eastern version of the ones we have here.
Pretty much, just a diffence in patterns. Or at least I assume you are out west. When I was out in SW Az in the mid 70's we ran across em Western's every now and again but not too often unless you went looking for em.

The Eastern Diamond back is another beast and they can get huge but I've never personally seen one in the wild.

Funny story, I had a friend who got to play golf at Hilton head, he was in the pro shop getting the course rules, anything within 10 feet of the water, free drop, anything in the high rough, free drop. He asked why, they said the gators were nesting and if the females see a golf ball they’ll come out of the water and grab it and take it back to their nest, thinking it’s an egg. The high rough drop was Eastern diamondbacks! He didn’t really belief it until he was walking on a bridge over a ditch towards he 1st tee, and there was an 8 ft alligator in the water! Being a real hacker, he hit one into the rough, got about 10 feet from the ball, when he heard the rattling, free drop!

😂 😂
You mentioned Gators, I went and visited my eldest at Tyndal AFB and not seeing your oldest in a while you party and I sure did. At the Hotel I saw a gator in the pond so I start wading in to do a Steve Irwin. Luckily he and his buddy where 2X my size and pulled me away and out, cus it was a big Gator...
