Watering day: switched to tap water this time to give them some Cal. Got a shower head for my hose do they got saturated good. Hoping to be able to feed nutes after this week if they start looking better. If not, water only it is!
ok, so it’s going to be 5-7 days till a watering.
let it dry, basically just leave the environment alone, no need to even be in there till check ti see if watering is needed.
you can look, just leave them be.

Looking a bit more spunky after some h2o.

So I might getting ahead of myself but when would y’all suggest flipping these. I’ve heard that they can double and triple in size and I’m working with a 5ft tent. I know they’re recovering right now but just curious and don’t wanna wait too long. Thanks.

Give em a couple weeks and let em recover. In height limited it may be worth looking at topping and/or scrogging to maximize your yield

Trucking right along here. They seem to stretching nicely and seem to be on the healthier side. Hoping I can at least feed once more before flipping. If not oh well.

Well I suppose I jinxed myself maybe. Woke up to some yellowing tips on the big one. Had the N tox so I haven’t fed them in a while. This last watering I switched to tap water for the Cal. They’re in FF Happy Frog.

That's tip burn from overfeeding

Edit to add you talk a lot about wanting to feed but pushing newts into a plant doesn't equal growth

having the nutrients available in the soil does and you already have plenty of newts in there

I wouldn't feed that green of a plant till I saw a lighter color in the new growth, jmo

I haven’t fed these things in 2 weeks, since I originally posted on here and started talking with you and rest of the group here. Been nothing but water for 2 weeks. I talk about wanting to feed just because I don’t want them to get to a point where under fed(which I am far off from I’m guessing!). Last water was a couple days ago, fully saturated pot(I’ve made sure of that now lol).

So, and correct me if I’m wrong here, with the soil already having all the nutes it needs, do the nutrients get “re activated” every time I water?

Edit: so am I going to deal with this nute burn every time I water?

I'm not the best to give you technical info as to the exact absorption mechanism in soil, I've been doing this a minute so I go by Instinct and observation, which is regrettably not going to be overly helpful to you

I can only tell you what I have above, and I can also tell you that if that was my plant in foxfarm I would not have fed it any newts yet, best wishes

Thanks I appreciate all your help and advice. Sounds like I’m just gonna leave it alone and water. Do you think it had the nutes it needs for flower in the soil as well? Or will I want to start supplementing when I flip? Sorry for all the questions, this is only my second attempt, first one bombed very very early. I just want to at least try and see these two to the end you know?

You're welcome, I think it has enough newts for another two or three weeks; watch for a general lightening up of the plants color

But keep in mind all new growth is slightly lighter in color so you want to observe the whole plant

When I saw it beginning to lighten up that would be when I would start considering feeding it again, in addition to observing I judge what I'm going to do by what the runoff tells me and if in doubt a slurry test is always your friend, hope this helps!

Cool. I’m just gonna keep watering only and wait til they lighten up. And hope for the best! Thanks again!

Updated pics as of this morning. Looks like they grew a bit since last post. One week til flip. Still no nutes water only.

More light green and more stretching. The topped one sure is pretty. Natural one is getting tall! Flip to flower in 2 days.

Decided to flip them tonight. They will get 22 1/2 hrs of darkness then be on the 12/12 schedule. I turned the light up to full power and lowered to 15-16in above plant. Dehumidifier on. Put in a 2nd fan for extra circulation.
